After not being for a while call today for lunch very pleased to say the service the food quality and the value-for-money haven't changed well done for keeping up a long-running great family friendly pub with a great local reputation

it's more of a restaurant than traditional pub. food is good and staff. if you just fancy a pint the try the puckersley or pleasant.

Lovely ambience, friendly staff and delicious food.

Mince & onion pie for me and Lancashire hot pot for my friend the best of British food

Average food. Chose tikka masala. Nothing like. Waitress response was "it's our take on a masala " . Should have said that on the menu

Food, service excellent. Social distancing was evident and we felt safe.

Used to be good .. just been in this evening absolutely shocking. Owner couldnt be arsed to greet us and pointed at the table to where we had to sit...Loads of rowdy lads at the bar swearing when it's a family pub. Sat down to wait 50 mins for food which I ate in 5 mind due to the lack of it. Should have read on the menu garlic bread with a side portion of lasagna.
Desserts... yes lemon tart please with custard... WITH CUSTARD!!? Said the waitress outraged..yes child the c u s t a r d ..

Will not return.

Food lovely/waitresses...unfortunately men and women sat around bar very brash!..loud using foul language ..(locals /disgraceful )

Absolutely loved this place. C.very clean and friendly.
Visited for lunch with 23 of my older people residents. Not one negative word about the food or service. Staff couldn't have been more helpful. Will definitely be revisiting.

Great selection of food and good ambiance. Prices are very competitive . On top of that their food is delicious. Can recommend their hotpot. Fabulous and much better than Betty's (lol).

Had a lovely meal with friends. Never been here before but would highly recommend. The place is lovely comfy seating. The staff were all smashing.

The place of choice for our family get-together s. Went tonight for a big family meal for Dad's 70th birthday (16of us). Everyone of us had fantastic food & service.

Very popular but becoming complacent. Needs more attention to service and quality.

I've been going here since i was 18 years old. I'm now 53. Its the best homemade English food pub/restaurant there is for miles!. In fact i'm going in today 13/3/16 with my 19 year old son, who is home from Uni. For a roast dinner.

Best british pub food. I enjoy the bbq chicken with half and half. Sauce is generous which is rare at other pubs. We have had our who family thier, facilities are good too.

Have had lovely Christmas meal at the Turks head with lovely friend at age UK Royton would recommend the Turks head

This pub is imposting as something it really really isn t.

The staff and people who frequent here are totally delusional!

Your pub isn t great, the food is nothing special, in fact it s far from special...average at the very best.

Pompous staff, pompous clientele who believe the hype when the hype is really very wrong!!

Save ya money and go local chippy down road.

Why don't you give your scruffy pubs less offensive names? Would you like some Turk to name his kebab house 'The Englishmans Head'?
