About Turkish American Cultural Association
The Turkish American Cultural Association (TACA) of Michigan is a non-profit organization that aims to promote and enhance the cultural, economic, social, educational, religious and general welfare of the Turkish community. Established in 1971, TACA has been serving the Turkish-American community for over 50 years.
TACA's mission is to foster a better understanding between the people of Turkey and America by promoting cultural exchange programs. The association organizes various events throughout the year that showcase Turkish culture such as music concerts, art exhibitions, film screenings and traditional dance performances.
One of TACA's primary objectives is to provide educational opportunities for members of the Turkish community. The association offers language classes in both English and Turkish for children and adults alike. These classes are designed to help individuals learn about their heritage while also improving their language skills.
In addition to education programs, TACA also provides assistance with immigration issues such as visa applications or citizenship processes. The association works closely with government agencies to ensure that members of the Turkish community receive fair treatment under US law.
Another important aspect of TACA's work is its commitment to social welfare initiatives. The association provides support services for families in need including food banks, clothing drives and financial assistance programs.
TACA also plays an active role in promoting economic development within the local community by organizing business networking events that connect entrepreneurs with potential investors or partners.
The association has a strong focus on interfaith dialogue as well. It regularly hosts events where people from different faiths can come together to discuss common issues facing their communities.
Overall, TACA serves as an important resource for members of Michigan's Turkish-American community by providing them with access to education opportunities, social services and cultural events that celebrate their heritage while also fostering greater understanding between different cultures.
