Minus the Newbie fear of getting lost, everyone was nice, the tour was great and high hopes for what's to come
I was advised to take a class I had taken some years before. My advisor apologized when the mistake was realized and gave me a letter of recommendation to give to the board in an effort to get a refund for the class. The mistake wasn't realized until I called to inquire about my next semester plans. This was an 8 week course, so it was already completed, with an "A", by time we found the mistake. When the board reviewed my attempt to get a refund since they can't really give me the time back, they denied it, saying I should have withdrawn in the proper time frame. Why would I withdraw? I didn't even know I needed to!!!! I explored other options but was told no to all of them.
The bookstore over charged me for a book that I had already purchased through this easy online book package they offer. I was unsuccessful getting that money back too.
So disappointed.
Their instructors are fair and I have enjoyed my classes.
This is also the Metro campus I'm referring to.
This school has been great for a community college! Smaller class sizes so you will get one on one time with the teachers. They really do want you to succeed. I feel as if I will be prepared to transfer to a 4 year university.
Getting ready for a new semester during the covid pandemic... Unsure about f2f classes.
However.. Precautions are in place... Still trepedatious...
Used their testing center for a teaching exam. They make sure it is quiet and clean fourth test there and they are always awesome!
Wonderful campus, good selection of useful classes for Adults.
Professors are great.
Tuition is a good price. However you are still charged all of the campus fees even if you are entirely online and have not even set foot on campus.
Enrolling online is easy - until they put a hold on your account saying you have to talk to your advisor first and get your classes okayed with them even if you are already set up in a degree plan and know exactly what classes you need. This happened to me and my advisor tried to put me in one class that didn t apply to my degree at all and tried to also put me in another class that I had already taken. Kind of pointless that you have to advise your advisor.
I have also had emails sent to me that were meant for someone else.
You might as well not even bother with financial aid or the bursar s office because they are 0 help and completely clueless.
So sad that in order for anyone to get a somewhat affordable education, they have to put up with so many issues.
