About Trust House Limited
Trust House Limited: Enhancing Lives and Communities
Trust House Limited is a community-owned company that has been serving the people of New Zealand for over 100 years. With a core purpose of enhancing the lives of people in our communities, Trust House runs great local businesses and funds community initiatives.
At Trust House, we believe that strong communities are built on strong businesses. That's why we operate a diverse range of businesses across the Wairarapa region, including hotels, bars, restaurants, supermarkets, and more. Our businesses provide employment opportunities for local residents and contribute to the economic growth of our region.
But Trust House is more than just a business. We are committed to giving back to our communities through funding community initiatives that make a real difference in people's lives. From supporting local sports teams to funding education programs and health services, Trust House is dedicated to enhancing the wellbeing of our communities.
One of Trust House's most significant contributions to our communities is through its charitable trust. The Trust House Foundation was established in 1994 with an initial endowment from the sale of Masterton Hospital. Since then, it has distributed millions of dollars in grants to support community projects across Wairarapa.
The Foundation supports projects that align with its key focus areas: education and training; health; social services; arts and culture; sport and recreation; environment; heritage preservation; youth development; emergency services support; animal welfare.
In addition to supporting community initiatives through its charitable trust, Trust House also partners with other organizations on specific projects aimed at improving outcomes for our communities. For example:
- In partnership with Masterton District Council and Sport New Zealand, Trust House helped fund the construction of Queen Elizabeth Park Sports Centre.
- Together with Genesis Energy Foundation and Eastern & Central Community Trusts (ECCT), we supported Project Crimson - an initiative aimed at restoring native trees throughout New Zealand.
- We partnered with Wairarapa REAP (Rural Education Activities Programme) on their "Learning Through Play" program - providing funding for educational toys for children aged 0-5 years old.
At Trust House Limited, we are proud to be part of such vibrant communities as those found throughout Wairarapa region - where people care about each other's wellbeing as much as their own success. We believe that by working together towards common goals like enhancing lives through business success or supporting important causes like education or health care access – everyone benefits!
