I've been coming here for years and have been nothing short of 100% satisfied with the medical care Kate and, previously, Dr. Syron have provided me. There does seem to be a bit of front office turnover and sometimes that shows in administrative matters, hence my four star rating. However, having a good doctor that respects you and competently addresses your needs is paramount to me and I will continue coming here for that reason.

Used to like this place, aside from the rude front desk staff. I ll get to them in a moment. Let s start with the medical professionals. I cannot speak of the doctors, as I see the PAs usually. I ve seen both Brittany and Kate, the PAs at Troy Family Practice. As I said, I used to like them. They have BOTH become very rude, not just to myself but to my cousins who also see them for their primary care. One of my cousins had his ESSENTIAL medication cut off by the PAs without warning, and they gave a lazy answer as to why they were no longer prescribing it to him. Didn t bother explaining. This was also during COVID, causing him to have to scramble to find a new doctor. This is just one of the numerous issues.
Now, let s move onto the office staff. The environment of a doctor s office is the first thing and the last thing a patient notices when they enter and leave. These front desk women make BOTH experiences an absolute pain. They ve always been absolutely abhorrent. I cannot emphasize this enough. Not only are they rude over the phone, but to your face as well. I remember being a teenager (in my late 20s now) and one of the ladies behind the counter (who STILL works there) verbally abused me IN FRONT OF OTHER PATIENTS as I was checking out. Why? Because, during my visit with a PA that day, I was uncomfortable with a certain medical procedure and denied it. I am not exaggerating either, she literally laughed in my face and said the name of my medical condition in front of other patients. This cannot be legal or ethical. I was a teenager unaccompanied by an adult so I just stood there and took it. It is obvious these women are miserable inside. Since then, I have had to see that same woman each time I come in. Even the newer, younger receptionists are insanely rude over the phone. I cannot emphasize enough how much I DO NOT recommend TROY FAMILY PRACTICE. COMPLETE AND UTTER TRASH!
Pleased and impressed with TFP's efficiency in this morning's blood draw. My appointment was at 8:45am, I was back in my car and on my way home at 8:48am!
I am so very appreciative of the excellent care and concern I receive from this medical practice and I have been coming here for a few years now. Dr. Pawlowski is my primary care physician and is incredibly knowledgable. He takes the time to answer questions and explain things, and ensures before leaving the room that I ve asked all my questions; and while I ve not interacted with everyone here, Rachel has taken my blood and initial information during my office visits a few times over the years and is always very pleasant and kind. Thank you for making my experience a positive one (which is usually challenging to find)!
The service here is terrible. They change their pricing for a doctors visit every time you go there and they said they have every right to charge different prices just for a doctors visit based on the conversation between you and the doctor. That is completely SHADY and I am changing my PCP immediately!
Wonderful doctors and PAs who always have the time and patience for questions. A great desk staff that goes beyond their duties to be helpful and sympathetic.
Doctors are great. The problem is that when I was prescribed two medications that I needed, the medical assistants/ individuals at the front desk did not tell me what to do with my prescription. I had to call again and sort it out. My second medication that I was prescribed never went through the system because it wasn't prescribed on the day it had to. I went to the pharmacy to pick it up, wasn't there. I waited until Tuesday to call in and they helped me and were able to prescribe my medication. They told me it was sent to my pharmacy. It wasn't, I went there again and nothing. So I called in today, and a rushed lady which was very rude and did not want to speak with me (a patient in distress because he has no medication) told me that they sent it yesterday and I had to call the pharmacy. Here I go again, 5 days without medication, having medical issues, and in distress. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone due to the ladies/gentlemen that answer the phone. They make me feel as if I wasn't worth it. I thank the physicians and everyone, but you need to stay calm with patients in distress. It feels like you have 0 empathy towards me.
The staff is comforting and Katherine Kranz PA is amazing! She is understanding, compassionate, great bedside manner, extremely knowledgeable and overall a wonderful person. I would highly recommend it office for all your health care needs.
I agree with the negative reviews. Unfriendly front office people. I feel like I am not welcomed there and more of a burden, when I am part of the reason why they have a job there. My doctor is good, the rest is terrible.
Troy Family Practice is an all around great office! I transferred care here about 18 months ago and I have been seeing PA Brittany David.
I have been in for routine wellness checks as well as visits where we have covered several of my concerns at one time. She is very competent and knowledgeable. I feel that my time there is spent efficiently; I have never waited long to see her and as I previously stated, I have had visits where we have covered several topics in a prompt manner. Brittany is always thorough, educating me as well as answering any questions I may have without making me feel rushed.
My most recent visit was for a migraine that I had already been to the ER for a few days prior and Brittany did more in the office for me than the ER doctors did, I should have just went there first. A few days after my visit a medical assistant even followed up with a phone call and asked how I was doing. It made me feel like Brittany actually cared.
They also have a patient portal where I have messaged her and I always get a prompt response either from her or a staff member on her behalf.
My only concern would be with the clerical staff. There have been times I have had great experiences but there have also been times I have called and the person has told me to call back later because she was busy. I work at the front desk in a very busy physicians office with over 20 providers and I would never put it on the patient to call me back. It is unfortunate the service with the clerical staff is hit or miss because they are the first people that we as patients encounter when we call or visit the office.
With that being said, the good by FAR outweighs the bad. I would highly recommend this practice and especially Brittany David!
