Incredible experience as an av geek. I had controls during taxi and whilst flying i was able to turn left/right and up/down myself. Instructor really took his time to explain things and made sure I felt comfortable. Only negative is that there's no possibility of purchasing a video of me flying (got told that it was a distraction for students).

I booked an intro flight for my birthday and was told that I would have 30 min of flight time in a Cessna 152. I arrived on the day and was popped into a Cessna 150 from 1970. I queried the different model to the one I was supposed to fly in, and was told "oh they're pretty much the same thing". The "thing" didn't even start. They spent 20 min messing around with this poorly maintained plane, which still refused to start. Safety concerns abounded.
I was then transferred into a much nicer aircraft which was the Cessna 152 I had actually paid for. By this stage we'd wasted so much time that they were going to be late for their next student, so my flight time was rushed to completion in 15min (instead of 30 min).
I wrote an email to the organisation to explain how disappointing and misleading the whole experience had been. The person who rang me to address this complaint had no concept of customer service, and was dismissive of all my concerns. I asked for a 50% refund given the shortened flight time and poor experience. Instead of an apology or acknowledgement, he ignored all my feedback and offered me 20% off on my next flight.
Hell no. I'll be taking my money elsewhere.
My wife got me the introductory training flight for Christmas, great value as an experience for someone like me very interested in all to do with flying, and obviously essential for someone wanting to pursue the path towards a pilots licence.
My instructor Simon was friendly, patient and extremely informative, thanks a lot Simon.
A great thrill to take (some) control of the flight for a while.

Amazingly run flying school. Very accommodating to the student. Fleet is well maintained and Geoff and Adrianne are very friendly. Recently did some flying with these guys and would highly recommend them. If you're looking for any flying training you can't go past these guys.
What a great bunch of guys! I booked a flight experience with Tristar directly for my partners birthday and they were so lovely to deal with. The instructor who took my partner up was so nice, knowledgeable and funny. You could really feel he had a passion for flying and that made my partner who has a slight fear of heights, very comfortable. Can absolutely recommend Tristar to others!
I received a red balloon Xmas gift of a flying lesson here. Every aspect of the session was professionally done. Pardeep was an excellent instructor and l hopefully be back to continue flying.
