I am a landlord and have used three different companies to rent out a property while travelling abroad. No one compares to Dunpark. They are helpful, efficient and experts at what they do. Their fees are worth every penny. I would recommend them to everyone. Dunpark take all the stress out of renting out a property. Keep up the great work and stay Virus free.

myself and my partner went in to this office over a month ago, although the agent we were speaking to was friendly, she never e-mailed us about a viewing as she said she would, however we did receive an e-mail today stating that the property that we were interested in was taken off the market.. Pretty poor organization from the get go.

The initial service was a bit difficult and communication was delayed, but over the past 3-4 months their service has greatly improved and I would now definitely recommend anyone looking for a flat to use Dunpark.

worst company ever, they charge fees that are overpriced for the crap service they provide, they think they are better than what they are. and not a single soul ever has time for you, Catriona McAuley and Emma Fursman are absolute jokes, they do not help and never take responsibility for the shambles that is their company. The property managers are rude and obnoxious and the maintenance staff Joanne and the other girl are useless, and they try to scam you by over charging with their in house 'maintenance' cairnsmore, who are a bunch of cowboys. AVOID AT ALL COSTS, unless you want rubbish service and people who only care about money.

Hi. I'm a physician and university professor. I've been on sabbatical in Edinburgh with my wife and 3 teenage boys. We used Dunpark to find our apartment in New Town. We were extremely impressed with Dunpark. We interacted most with Sarah and Victoria, but also with the principal Emma. Their office was always warm and welcoming. They were very helpful when we first arrived. Any query (by email, text, or whatsapp) were quickly answered and always in a friendly and professional manner. Maintenance was always addressed quickly and professionally. The package we were given on check-in was comprehensive. There were some problems with an HMO above us (including some damage in our apartment). Arranging for insurance adjustors, building inspectors et cetera was always done at our convenience. Dunpark was very concerned about the events that led to the damage and their concern was sincere and genuine. Unfortunately, we had to return to Canada on short notice because of COVID and travel restrictions put in place by my university and government. Dunpark was again helpful and understanding. I would expect thoughtful considerate renters would appreciate the efforts of Dunpark: we sure did.

If it was possible to give them less than one star I would. As others have said their communication is terrible. If you have a problem you will be ignored until you are at your wits end. Especially Michael Richardson treated me with discriminacion, told me so many lies and I had been deceived by him. I got sick emotionally and physically. (Response to the owner)Yes , It was better but not the appropriate. The last time I went to the office he has hidden behind a door. When I was leaving I stood by the window and I saw him coming out and everyone else was laughing at me. I cannot describe the feeling I had at that moment. I hope you will never have it!!!

I moved into a Dunpark property 2 months ago. While I had to repeatedly chase up the agency to confirm whether myself and my partner had secured the lease, once we were confirmed everything went smoothly. The agency were able, if not happy, to accommodate our slightly delayed moving in preference and the property was in impeccable condition, including all new furniture. When I went to pick up the keys, our primary contact, Leona, met with me to discuss some aspects of the flat - e.g. bathroom cabinet yet to be constructed. These were sorted within the first few weeks of our tenancy.

When we were first moving into our flat, Dunpark was pretty helpful and the staff friendly. However, the flat was disgusting when we moved in and full of junk. We asked for it to be re-cleaned but it remained unpleasant. We endured this for the one year we lived there as we were all busy enough not to spend too much time at home. The moving out process was then was awful. Firstly, communication was next to none and I had to email and phone far too often to try to sort out everything at the end of the tenancy. We were charged an outrageous amount off our deposit given the state of the flat when we moved in, but I had grown so tired of waiting for replies to emails that I let them off with this money, it's already been over a month with no sign of our deposit and I do not want to delay it any more. AVOID

We have been a contractor for Dunpark for over a year now, we currently service several other Letting agents in Edinburgh and we find Dunpark to be the best in its category by miles Especially when it comes to organisation.

Other Agents could learn a thing or two from these guys.
A fab company to be associated with.

Lettings agencies in Edinburgh do not open at the weekends and so my rental contract took slightly longer than I had anticipated to set up. However, once the paperwork was done then things ran smoothly.
Dunpark are excellent at resolving problems - the washing machine needed repairing - it was done!

Hi all,

Hi all,
We stayed two night at Ramsay Garden apartment in Edinburgh in november 2018.
The flat was extremely elegant, cosy and clean.
The location is strategic, 5 minutes walking to Edinburgh castle and to Royal Mile and shop area.
Even though the house is quite big, the heating worked perfectly. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitively be back in case of a future trip to Edinburgh.

I too would have left no stars if this were an opt...

I too would have left no stars if this were an option.

The owner, Emma Fursman, goes to great lengths on her website to make Dunpark (or 'dun-ef-all' as we now call it) your family-run, friendly, accessible, property company. A cosy, caring company with a " from boxroom to just-round-the-corner from Harvey Nicks" success story.
She gives one of the reasons for opening her business as being "Concerned about the industry's laissez-faire attitude to tenants' safety .. in Edinburgh, Emma saw a need to move rental properties into the 21st Century". How right on. Lets choose Dunpark ..ticks all the boxes right?
Well compared to reality, the website is a fairytale.

The staff are incompetent and the owner is unreachable. I have tried contacting her directly via three separate social media platforms after failing to speak to her at her office and she has not returned ANY of my messages.
My daughter rents a flat from her in West Preston St and there has been ongoing issues with heating since late November. Months without heating, excuses, supposed repairs that never happen, quick repairs that last a week ( if that), promised workmen not turning up, workmen turning up with wrong keys, ..........the list is seemingly endless.
It is now February. There's a red weather warning out, snow two feet high outside the door, the temperature is minus six and STILL no heating.
Even the mice (yes there are mice too) have left for warmer spaces.
Dunpark is a DISGRACE.
Email from them today to explain why yet again no-one turned up to fix the boiler also said,
"Our Managing Director, John, even drove during a RED WEATHER WARNING yesterday to personally deliver electric heaters to your property. This was done when most of the roads, not to mention businesses including many other letting agents, in Edinburgh were closed".
And this may well sum up Dunpark...it s been since November that there has been no heating. That's three and a half months. To wait till a red weather warning and "a time when businesses including many other letting agents, in Edinburgh were closed to attempt to address the situation says more about the incompetency of the company than of any heroism on the part of John.

I have two further comments regarding the 'story' of the website:-
1. Emma says on the website that her company is named to remember her dad "it was a way for his memory to live on "- Clearly not fond memories of dad then.

2. Quoting from the website "the husband and wife team have visions of carrying the business forward, operating in a larger geographic area and delivering more property services for clients."
I would urge them not to. They can't even deal with the properties they already have on their books. Please don't expand. No-one else needs to have Dunpark inflicted on them.

This may seem like a personal attack on the owner of Dunpark but after months of trying to get my daughter a warm flat I am a parent with a serious grievance. I have tried being professional, I have tried being business like, I have tried phoning daily and I have tried visiting the offices but absolutely NOTHING seems to work with this company. I am a mother whose daughter is renting a flat from another mother who is treating my daughter very poorly.. so yes this is a "personal" review.

Worst agency I have ever dealt with. Emma Haddow is totally useless, ignores all emails when we have queries and then chases us up acting as if we have never been in touch. Gave us only a few days notice of rent increase and has an extremely rude phone manner as well. Completely unprofessional agency and very difficult to deal with.
UPDATE 30/9/16 Emma Haddon once again has proven herself incapable of replying to an email (actually, incapable of replying to about 6 that my flatmate and I both sent regarding an urgent matter - whether or not our lease was being terminated the following week or not!). We were urgently seeking answers and got completely ignored, to then have our new tenancy agreement arrive in the post a couple of weeks later. An email could easily have been sent confirming what was happening with our move out date?? I then complained to Catriona Macaulay who, following the pattern of every other useless member of staff in the place, completely ignored me; so I followed up a week later asking for a response, to be totally ignored again. After a month I was at the end of my tether so I passed all of this on to Emma Fursman looking for a response. Surprise surprise, she has refused to acknowledge my email either! Emma Fursman's LinkedIn page states that she "focuses on a high quality service to landlords and tenants," which is one of the most laughable things I've ever heard. There is NO service to tenants at all, they could not give less of a damn! Yet funnily enough, when they want a response about something you get constantly harassed by both phone and email until you get back to them.
I would urge any tenants to avoid this absolute joke of an agency at all costs!

Really lovely team, fast responses to smallest of inquiries, answering every question and quickly responding to any inconveniences. Offered a nice, property which was a great value for money- and quickly solved problems, like moths or broken equipment. Could have not asked for a better service. Really happy and impressed with their correspondence, especially during covid. The team sounds very professional and friendly! I am recommending them to all my other university colleagues.

Not happy with their partner, Ittria, who used my data behind my back to sign me up with energy company I never wanted, despite sending them numerous emails stating I can do the simple gas&bill&broadband arrangement (and being stonewalled). Untangling their mess right now, and it is very stressful. I hope Dunpark will stop using their services.

You have to threaten Dunpark with legal action any time you want to get any kind of response from them. And as with all estate agents, Dunpark also take liberties when they know tenants are too poor or too short on time to bother fighting back.

However after working with Dunpark it's thankfully been a very good experience and I can't fault them. The staff are very helpful, friendly and have fully advised me every step of the way. I highly recommend.

I was a tenant with Dunpark on a 12 month lease and I could not have been happier with them. I honestly can't understand the other reviews here.

The property handler, Lisa, was very was organised and quick to reply. In the few cases where there was an issue in the flat the response was fast, same day in a couple of cases I remember.

Handyman was craic too.

The team at Dunpark have been hugely supportive to me as a new landlord. I have been with them for 2 years and throughout this time they have been professional, efficient, friendly and found me lovely tenants for my properties. My manager Sharon is a great communicator, up to date with the latest compliance and has eased the responsibility of being a landlord!

Absolutely disgusted with this company. I am a neighbour who has had to suffer banging and noise for months and completely disrespected from Catrina and sharon. Emma was kind and listened but in general appalled by how I have been treated their manners are shocking. I would never rent a property from them or rent out mine.

I have been with Dunpark for over a year. From the beginning, I found Emma, my key contact and property manager at Dunpark, to be professional in all dealings. She is always quick to respond to any queries and on hand on the rare occasion that issues arise.

As with most letting agencies, Dunpark outsource their maintenance work. Where subcontractors are not providing a good level of service e.g. plumbing, Dunpark are quick to address any problems with their suppliers and always follow up to check that I am satisfied.

We have been renting the same flat with Dunpark for over 6 years now. Although we have had our ups and downs (more downs than ups in the first 4 years due to tensed relationships with our property managers) I must say that communication has massively improved in the last couple of years, and especially in the last 3-4 months following some changes they have made. Staff like Chris Cornhill and Sarah Boustred have been consistently fantastic (polite, open, understanding and helpful) throughout the years and we thank them for this. Issues have - most of the time - been fixed fairly promptly and they have a nice online reporting tool (fixflo), which helps with processing these in the most efficient way possible. We are rating Dunpark a 3/5 as a recognition for all the positive changes they are making. They can definitely be a great agent if they bring more of the right/competent people in.

After seeing the reviews on google, I was apprehensive but gave them a chance. I was relocating and anxious about my move as it was my first in over 18 years but Dunpark couldn't have been more supportive in helping me find a property and getting me moved into my new home. It seems they have done a massive revamp and it's definitely working. Thanks to all at Dunpark I shall definitely be recommending you in future.

Vastly improved agent over the last year, previous reviews don't reflect the new Dunpark in my opinion. Our new agent Leona is very helpful and efficient, all the previous problems we had with Dunpark have been resolved since she started. Would highly recommend to students as they have the fairest tenants selection policy (no first come first served dashes from a viewing to the office!)

We rented for a number of years on Danube Street and were extremely happy. The quality of the flat was outstanding and the rental fair considering the area. We found our landlord extremely reasonable and Dunpark professional. There were some minor issues but nothing that was an actual problem and certain individuals were particularly great.

This letting agent has disappointed us beyond measure. The property we rent from them is full of hidden faults. The walls leak, and there is mould throughout.
A bare minimum of work has been carried out by them to fix a major leak which was evidently present before the start of our tenancy - water damage hidden behind furniture or painted over.
Streams of emails and phone calls exchanged and no repairs were carried out until our downstairs neighbour's ceiling fell in. The neighbours have now taken the issue into their own hands and managed to very swiftly and professionally arrange a repair.
Dunpark, to their credit, have provided a dehumidifier, but this is not sufficient to make the room safe to live in. On parts of the wall, the growth of mould is confluent, and has notably affected my health as well as smelling like dog breath.
On one occasion, I was disconnected for some reason during a telephone call with a member of staff at the agency. I immediately redialled and asked politely to resume my conversation, to be told the person I was speaking with was not at work that day.
1/10 for customer satisfaction.

If it was possible to give them less than one star I would. There seems to be a theme here whereby landlords are happy, but tenants are not. This is because it's a seller's market in Edinburgh when it comes to renting property and shows the company's supposed commitment to customer service to be a sham. As others have said their communication is terrible. If you have a problem you will be ignored until you are at your wits end. If they have a problem you'll be instantly hounded by very rude and abrupt emails. I've dealt with other lettings agencies, and while none are all that good (by nature of being letting agencies) these are certainly the worst.

I have been a tenant with Dunpark for a year now. The team at Dunpark have been consistently helpful and supportive. Over the past year, all email and phone communication with Dunpark has been swift, friendly and professional. They are quick to help fix any problems that occurred, such as sending over an electrician without any fuss to fix an electrical fault on a Sunday evening. As landlords we have had a relationship with Dunpark for nine years. We have valued Dunpark's support and advice from when we first sought to buy. We are pleased that it has been possible to work together to create a secure arrangement for all, with one of our tenants in place for the whole period.

Dunpark has helped us with all the statutory requirements and regulations to ensure that we comply, which has given us peace of mind in a complex environment for novices. When additional works, such as boiler replacement, will improve the environment for tenants this has been suggested and facilitated.

Now that it is time for us to sell we have found again that Emma Fursman's professional advice and knowledge, together with her local network and experience, are proving crucial to us achieving a good outcome.

If it was possible to give this company zero I would have! They are truly the scum of the earth please NEVER EVER use them or set foot in place of business. If you are using them make sure you have everything signed off and in writing as they will use any missing paperwork or lack of documentation as a way to shaft you. If they ever tell you something over the phone or in writing do not take them at their word make sure you have it in writing. However, please do not get to this stage just avoid like the plague!!!!
