Today I had a very disappointing experience in closing a home sale and do not recommend this title company. There was an unexpected fee that I did not know about until late the night before the closing, when I received the settlement statement. This previously undisclosed fee for $150.00 had not appeared in my closing for two other properties I sold last year. I protested this fee but the answer was no that it was up to me whether I wanted to close or not. Since I was under contract for sale today, I had no choice but to go ahead. After the fact, I found other other title companies with fees they were willing to negotiate. Illinois Title & Escrow is a good place to start, for example.

They charge you $50.00 to provide you a copy of the Title Insurance Policy that you've already paid for. That's a horrible way to treat customers that have already paid for services and just want a copy of the paperwork. Rude!
