Tortilleria Flor de Mexicali Review

Celebrated my boyfriend's birthday dinner here and it was fantastic! The servers were all so wonderful and accomodating. The restaurant itself is very cozy with a live pianist playing on the side. The food is on the pricey side but its worth it. Everything is so good, from the appetizers to desserts. I want to go back again. They do have happy hour so I'll be checking that out too.

This is my go to place for masa for tamales, champurrado, or anything else. The masa is made in the store. You can buy prepared or unprepared which means they mix the masa with lard,usually, and baking powder. If you buy it unprepared you can prepare it at home. They sell tortillas, carnitas, chicharrones, beer, and sweet bread too. Parking can be limited. If you don't mind walking you can park at the other end of the shopping center. Be ready to wait in line anyday you go. If it's Christmas Eve morning you better be there in line before dawn. They are following COVID19 guidelines. If you are paying with cash they want exact change due to the coin shortage. They take ATM cards too but charge 55 cents.

The tortillas, chips, carnitas yummy!!! Delicious...the line though. It is insane...they could be more quicker lol

I've been going to this shop since my mom used to push my stroller, and even after they sold to new management around 2014 if im not mistaken. They still have that authentic taste/and feel if the corn tortillas... if you hit the place early you cans score on some super tender carnitas, borona(chicharron) or chicharron grueso. This tortilleria factory deserves more than 5 stars in my opinion.

Very Good products but bad costumer service too slow

Been customers of this tortilleria for years. Best tortillas ever get in California, but during last month apparently they have change they recipe. Now tortillas are not that good like used to. They must check on that or they might get loose customers. hope they get this fixed soon we miss this tasty tortillas
