As a TDSB graduate from JK-Gr.12, I can wholeheartedly say that they could've done better for their students. Better curriculum and more funding. I never thought this was a problem until I saw how it hindered the children, and youth.

The TDSB really mismanaged its COVID response. Quadmesters were a bad idea but thankfully they learned from this mistake and replaced it with a new system, a new arguably worse system. Alternating between 2 courses every other week is a bad idea since students will forget everything during the week in between classes. It also doesn't fix the biggest issue of quadmesters, how densely-packed the content was. Teachers will probably need to pack as much lessons into each week as possible and assign homework during the next week and then students will all forget what little they did learn.

I understand that this is necessary COVID management but I think it would be more healthy for the students if classes were to alternate every 2-3days instead of every week

A great place to work! Much like life, it's what you decide to make it. Working with children is very rewarding as you get a chance to see the world through their eyes. Through their education, we fall in love with learning all over again. I feel truly blessed to have become a teacher.
I decided early in my life, to be a lifelong learner. My father always said, You could work hard now and your life will be easier later on or have fun now and spend the rest of your life working.
So, think about this the next time you feel the need to post ill of an organization without any explanation. What is your true motive here?
Yes, our journey can be rough at times, but those are the most important life lessons. And at the end of the day, this is one of the better organizations to work for.

I'm being generous here giving u 2 instead of 1. For almost a year of online classes, u didn't take into consideration middle school students, i dont know it's probably just my sister's school. She had been having mental break downs overwhelmed with soooo much projects, essays, and assignments in all of her 8 subjects. So parents, i advice u to check on ur kids, they might need some hug and reassurance from u especially now.

when tdsb decides to continue doing the quadmester system even tho 95% of the students and teachers hate it.

When tdsb planned this whole VSS (TDSB virtual school) when we can just do virtual at our homeschool, but instead creates VSS with unprofessional teachers and not the best platform (brightspace).

When tdsb sends us a survey asking us how we are doing (mentally and physically) knowing that they make us take and finish 2 whole curriculums within 2 months (plus loads of homework and tests). Nice.

COVID really exposed how terrible and unprepared this school board actually is. Teachers are terrible. They don't want to do their job and quite frankly can't teach. Same with the guidance councilors. Keep in mind these were the same teachers who went on strike right before lockdown because they wanted to get paid more, and still allegedly claim "they did it for the students."

It was never a good idea to cram in 6 months of course material into around 8 weeks. Quite literally pathetic.

Even though I'm in Middle School Virtual School, I still have the right to an Opinion. Next year im entering G7. This Year has just been so tough for me (G6) because my teacher Is constantly just stacking up work for me & I have over 100+ assignments & tests submitted & only 3 are marked which Is unacceptable for me. I've put in a lot of time & effort to assure that my assignments & presentations are done to the best of my ability. Hopefully, next year in grade 7 my teacher Is going to be more flexible on time. My Test results Beyond February Report Card:

Ratio Rates: 107% ( i got the Bonus Correct)
Fractions: 89%
Percents: 88%

When Calculated for all these test's I have a 92% AVG which I'm very proud for.

Despite that, students are really friendly & willing to talk to you! That's why I gave it a 2 start just as a bonus for People. Some kids are very Intelligent & sometimes help better than the actual teachers.
