Shameful Treatment of donors, specifically their free pick-up program is a mess of a joke. Had to spend 3 days waiting for their drivers to just show up and pick up the bags. The pick-up was scheduled for a Wednesday, sometime from 8am-6pm, nobody showed up!! Got an automated phone call saying they will come on a Saturday (excuse me, I have things to do on a weekend!), nobody showed up. Finally a truck came on Sunday, without warning and out of the blue, to pick-up. I had a cart full of clothes, I can't be expected to just drop everything at their beck and call?! Driver wouldn't even wait for 5 minutes for me to come down in the elevator in my condo with the bags. He disappeared. Came back after 10 minutes, giving me attitude when I asked why they didn't keep 2 previous appointments. Apparently "not his problem". I seriously don't have time for this idiocy, and this organization will not receive a single donation or a single penny from me EVER AGAIN, if I am treated like my time is not worth anything, and I am generally treated like a pest, who has nothing better to do than to wait for their pick-up truck with donations I am making out of the goodness of my heart, to help their cause. I think I deserve a little better than being stood up 2 times. I lost all respect for them and their management, and will make sure all my immediate circle stops donating to them as well. Absolute disgraceful treatment and behaviour. Makes me wonder what else is going on behind closed doors, if they treat the public in such blatantly shameful manner. Such a joke or an organization.

They have this clothesline donation box inside the building which is so convenient for anyone that wants to donate their stuff. After they closed down the goodwill on Richmond, this place becomes my go-to place for donation.

I was trying to find details of accepted donation items through a bad phone connection. But only to get a very rude response and was told repeatedly to go to a drop off box or Value Village. I was merely trying to help! I did donate many things over the years including $$$, but this certainly put an end to it!

Im still waiting for the driver to pick up my donations. It passed two days since the pick up date which was Wednesday. I called them next day and they told me that they were going to pick up on Thursday and sure enough, my boxes are still at an entrance today, Friday the 24th and now New packages randomly put besides my boxes..

If they cant come to pick up don't even have the pickup option. Also like other people said, i don't have time to call them to make sure my DONATION is picked up!!! Thats their jobs!
Such an annoying organization. Highly not recommended.

My package was gone and they start calling me for pick up over and over , the original schedule was ignored and totally messed up. They just called me randomly keep asking when they could pick up... and finally the driver was just near at my place saying "I'm coming to pick up the donations" even without asking me. Then I said my package was gone. All of sudden, the driver hang up the phone without any apologies. The organization is REALLY BAAAD.. Please dont bother.

We all know someone with diabetes - this organization is funding remarkable work to help those with the disease and to help find a cure.

Great experience donating household items and clothes. Awesome that they will come pick up. Saved me from having to drive to a donation center. They gave me a window from 8 AM to 6 PM. I was able to simply leave the items on my lawn. I did not have to wait at home for them. All of the items were picked up by 1 PM despite it being a snowy day.

Left a messy donation boxes in Windsor, creating a mess, what is good to have Police wasting money on chasing a homeless people, City of Windsor wasting time on clean up orders and rats to enjoy the mess. Didn't even called back upon requests.

NEVER IN MY LIFE WILL I EVER DONATE ANYTHING TO THIS ORGANIZATION, I HAVE BEEN DROPPING STUFF AT DROP BOXES FOR YEARS. UNFORTUNATELY I'M IN THE MIDDLE OF A MOVE AND ACCIDENTALLY DROPPED A BAG WITH A BLANKET IN THIS BLANKET HAD MY SISTERS MAC BOOK, SAMSUNG TABLET AIR PODS AND HER ECHO DOT 3RD GENERATION (ALEXA). THE BAG WENT IN THE BIN BUT NO ONE CAN ACCOUNT FOR THE BAG. II WOULD HAVE FELT BETTER IF THEY TOLD ME THAT THE ITEMS WERE DONATED AND CANNOT BE RETRIEVED THAN TO TELL ME THAT THEY CANNOT BE FOUND.
THIS IS UNETHICAL AND SHOULD NOT HAPPEN. JUST IMAGINE HOW MUCH OTHER STUFF THEY HAVE STOLEN FOR THEMSELVES AND NEVER GET TO THE ONES IN NEED.

Although the service they provide is good, their business practices with regard to soliciting donations is NOT. I've contacted them on a number of occasions with no results. They call repeatedly many times a day with various numbers on the Call Display. With so many fraudulent scams out there, who is going to answer their calls when it doesn't display "Cdn Diabetes Assc". They need to show that on the call display and LEAVE A MESSAGE so that if someone has something to donate, they can call back. I suggest they not call more than 1x/month. Their repeated calls with no message and no proper name on the call display is utterly annoying! The reason people don't answer their phone anymore is because of all the spoofed calls from Duct Cleaning Companies and those claiming to be with Revenue Canada or Immigration Canada or people wanting to "fix" your computer's internet speed.....So many scams out there, even the police warn people to be vigilant! So, please Diabetes Association - change your solicitation methods. Thank you!
