I have been waiting for over 5 years now to get a final accounting from this company. Calls go unanswered. They sent a stairwell that was out of measurement by inches that had to be taken apart and reconstructed at a cost to me of $10,000. They didn't want me to send it back. It cost $25,000. Aside from that the job many times was held up waiting for material. A marble slab came cracked and could not be used. Metal railing came without holes being predrilled, something that the providing company said was always their respponsibility, but Top sider didn't order.
Cost almost 4 weeks of one person hand drilling all the holes. No supervision with my contracting company who gave up waiting on Topsider and took on other projects. It took over 4 years to build my house with all the delays.

Decided to visit their facility to see what a "hurricane-proof" home was made of. The owner, Sheldon Storer, personally took me on a tour of his facilities! Great people, great tour, great pedestal "model home" on property. Would highly recommend visiting the facilities to get a tour of where your next home will be constructed from!

What a great group of people and it's a fun and challenging place to work. Met all sorts of interesting people from the folks I work with to our customers both old and new.
Met a gentleman yesterday who has been happily living in one of our homes for thirty or more years. Smile and a handshake and asked who I was by him. Since I was new .

Just a word to say I'm in the heartbreaking situation of selling my Topsider on Vinalhaven Island Maine. We look out over uninterrupted landtrust and parkland to Penobscot Bay. Here's what a guest wrote after her first night here - - " Some days my feet never touch the earth, I walk the decks on 24 hour watch, so much to see in this skylab" - - "I must wish for fog, or mist or rain so I can sleep again.". And of course, here in Maine the nights are dark; the stars are bright. Awesome. We often have repeated what one Topsider ad had said from a resident owner, "Let's call down and see if we can spend another night here." A daughter-in-law said in her critique: The only suggestion I have to make is that there be another day in the week to enjoy this - - seven days are not enough. This house is magic. And it has stood strong in its location on the highest elevation on the island- - lots of wind. And with 360 degree exposure, on the hottest days we get beautiful cross ventilation and breezes. My husband Gery Torborg loved being here during his lifetime.
