All of the above not professional, poor quality ...

All of the above not professional, poor quality and poor value. This company did the road work on Highway 60 from Hidden Valley Road to Highway 35 over the past two years. We have never experienced such an incompetent and disgraceful job as to what has transpired. We must have complained at least a half a dozen times regarding our business entrance. Along with many others, our driveway and business entrance look worse noe compared to before Tomlinson touch to it. The Tomlinson group made such a mess. We were guaranteed and told time and time again that we would be very happy with our new entrance. It looks absolutely horrible like a dog's breakfast. We wish they never got the contract and touched any of this job. 25 years we have owned and operated our business and our entrance looked attractive and now it looks like a bunch of incompetent people who didn't know how to pave completed the job. The inconvenience to our customers / guests was unforgiveable. Back and forth and back forth instead of working in one constant direction so that they would disturb each property owner the least possible. The noise and traffic was ludacris over and over and over. Too bad the Ministry of Transportation didn't go with the best company instead of the cheapest. Fowler's has started Paving from 35 towards the Algonquin Park and it looks heads and shoulders above anything that you're company did. What an absolute disgrace and embarrassment to say that the job was completed properly. I doubt there is a happy person along this whole corridor with their entrance and the paving out come.

We were looking to get a bin and we called Tomlinson

We wanted a reliable company that can deliver and we weren t to picky with the pricing, plus there prices weren t that for off all the other companies.

All our questions were answered over the phone by Pam and we received an email regarding our quote. She is very clear over the phone and very helpful.

The bin was delivered the next day and the bin was taken the day after we called to get it removed.

Highly recommend

Tomlinson Group of Companies is an amazing company...

Tomlinson Group of Companies is an amazing company and local success story. As an integral part of the growth and development in Ottawa and the surrounding areas, Tomlinson continues to operate with integrity and professionalism.

I'm very proud to work for Tomlinson and look forward to the bright future ahead for this company.

Shows no consideration for the communities where they operate. And yes I have communicated with the VP mentioned in one of the other reviews and I was basically told too bad so sad.

Edit (July 2020): thank you for replying. It should be noted that construction start times have always been 7am, which I m fine with. What I find unacceptable is that companies like Tomlinson used the global pandemic to push through changes allowing 6am start time. This was never allowed in the past because it is detrimental to health and well-being, and this is well documented in reports by the WHO as well as Ontario s ministry of environment.

Furthermore, your crew takes zero precautions when it comes to COVID. Here s a photo on their rest break today. While I understand they are not mandated to wear masks at work and staying 2m apart is not feasible while working, their behaviour otherwise just seems careless given the current pandemic. I do worry because they also visit shops in our community.

Edit #2 (September 2020): no more extreme heat but still starting at 6am every morning, what gives?

Edit #3 (October 2020): Tomlinson continues working without following Provincial guidelines for construction site health and safety during COVID-19 (no distancing, no staggered shifts, no hand wash stations), or even basic safety precautions like a worker texting on a cell phone while holding a Slow/Stop sign directing traffic at peak 5pm downtown rush hour.

Edit #4 (also October 2020): for the record, Tomlinson edits their responses to this review on what is convenient as time passes. In July, they needed to start at 6am to avoid extreme heat for safety, and in October they need to start at 6am because ... it s not clear why. If it s unsafe to stagger shifts start and break times then there is no need to start at 6am. That is the reason why the government allows 6am start time. You can t have it both ways, or at least not in good faith. Not that Tomlinson would care. It s deeply worrying to what extent Tomlinson is unaware of health and safety regulations related to COVID and the construction sector.

First rule of the construction club is get along with thy neighbours. 2nd rule stick to the bylaws. 3rd rule keep your site and all the space around you free of your mess. And the new rule, dont just social media your problems away, or email or call away your problems: do something.

Tomlinson, Founded on strength. Guided by vision. Striving for excellence gives our employees and company a sense of pride, purpose, & focus. Being committed to our customers and employees is one of the major reasons I chose to work for Tomlinson. Working in a state of the art facility only enhances this experience in continuing to be the leader of environmental and transportation infrastructure in Eastern Canada. Proud to be part of the #redarmy family.
