The rental policy of TIS does not make sense at all. There is literally no way for international students to rent a book at TIS unless they hold a U.S. driver's license (and almost every international student doesn't own a car, and they only hold international driver's license). They require a state-issued ID, but rejected valid passports, valid US visas, IU student card and even a newly-issued social security card. Since one store clerk said social security card will be okay, I brought my newly-issued US social security card for the next visit, but they also rejected the card since it doesn't show my photo (WHAT???) The default, original form of Social Security Card does not have photo. This policy totally does not make sense and I cannot understand why they are keep enforcing this policy even though it has discriminating effects on international students. The manager's attitude was totally inappropriate, and she just kept saying it's store policy and I must purchase the book or leave. I end up buying $680 text books with cash, and I was so furious at that time.
