It is such a gem. A hidden one as it's at the back. I didn't eat there but they had a function and saw such beautiful decor. I was lost and everyone was just so helpful. I think there was a matric dance event. I loved what i saw and it made me wanna go back and eat. I found where i was going with their help.

Jenny, Diedre and their team went all out to make our anniversary special. Roses on the table, everything was beautiful. We were a table of 25 aand they handled us with ease. But most importantly, it is their food that is beyond amazing. Delicious and beautifully presented. Salad, deserts ( Try their Pistachio Creme Brulee or Lime tart!) Pork Belly to die for. Everyone in my party was raving about the food. I highly recommend this restaurant. Book beforehand. Enjoy! We can't wait to go back.

Excellent venue. Went out to lunch with a friend. I liked the setting. It's just outside the city but you immediately feel you are hundreds of Kilometers away in the country side. The menu was awesome. The only problem you will have is choosing what to order. Service and staff are very attentive and friendly. A definite must for a long lunch with special people.

From the get go the service was great. We had the best waiter that have served me in my life.

It was very difficult to choose what to eat as the restaurant offers a great variety, all of which sounds spectacular. Each dish has their own unique twist which contributes to the unique nature of the restaurant. They offer anything from gnocchi (a favourite) to pork belly, to fillet, to pizza, to the most amazing home made tin roof ice cream (no not the one from Woolworths).

The food was fantastic. The flavors burst in my mouth and I could just feel them all float together to create one impeccable taste.

The chef even personally came to check up on us.

Overall I can officially rate this restaurant as the best I've ever been.

After many good reviews we decided to went out for a sunday lunch. Waiter not very attentive, some requiest was just ignored, also some of the supposesly specials were already finished, even though we were there very early and restaurant were still half full. Secondly I ordered a rump steak meduim to well, which came out dry, owner send it back but second one was even worst and also send back. When steak arrived on 3rd attemp I was already so embaressed that I just kept quiet, even though the steak was meduim well, it was now such a small portion with half of it just fat with almost no sauce. Defnitley not worth the value of R165.00 When asking waiter for more sauce, my requiest was ignored. Very dissapointing after reading all the good reviews.

Good place for nice cocktails after a hot day.
But wish roads to the place can be fixed. Such place deserve to have a tarred road.

Loved this place until had my birthday organized there , and everything went wrong. wrong orders to wrong people, no service for an hour, no drinks offered in the heat, messed up desserts. Should ve maybe just come and not plan 3 weeks in advance. Reported but got no answer.

Intimate restaurant out in Pretoria East that is ideal for special occasions. The food looks good, smells good and tastes good, making it worth every penny. Prices are on par for restaurant prices (mid range), thet portions are good and the quality more than justifies the price.

Food quality is great. Definitely a worthy experience. The Springbok was done to perfection. The eisbein spring roll with the pork belly is exquisite. Best creme brulee I've come across.

I have eaten in the most exquisite restaurants in the world from the most expensive sushi restaurant in California to the most exclusive on a boat trip to Antarctica.
Is it possible that all of these could be outdone by a tiny restaurant on a dirt road only 4 kilometers from our home?
Hell yes!!! From the manager to the waiter to the (best in world) chef each and every one was top of the class.
I am not easy to please but this establishment sure knows how to do just that.

We held our kitchen tea at The Tin Roof Cafe and it was JUST LOVELY!! The Chef was engaging, the food was delicious & the area beautiful. I highly recommend this venue for events. Well done and keep up the good work The Tin Roof Cafe x

Magnificent food in a peaceful setting and the people of Tin Roof are friendly and helpful. The setting makes you forget about the city for a while, which is always a bonus.

The food is exceptional! I have been here numerous times and am always pleasantly surprised by the quality and taste of the food. Atmosphere is exactly what you would expect from the name, typical farmstyle house with a lot of character. Excellent outside seating for the summer with green lawns, wood fire place on the inside for winter.

Beautiful venue situated on a farm near silver lakes. Great food and service. Booking is essential on a Sunday for lunch but the owner is very nice and accommodating and will try and squeeze you in . You can see the chef has a passion for food!

Great little place. One of the best little venues in Pretoria East. Good for Sunday lunch. The garden is lovely and well kept. The quality of food is very good and very tasty. Ample parking space and clean bathrooms. Reservations are recommended here to avoid disappointment. Larger groups should definitely book well in advance. Coffee is very good. Did not try any dessert.

Lovely Garden Setting for Lunch and 5 star food and service

Fantastic experience. From booking, getting a table allocated, location, interaction with the waiters and hostess, right through to the food.
The food was delicious. Although the rump cut I received was quite sinewy, it was prepared to almost perfection (you cannot win them ALL!).

Everything is wonderful here! Will definitely be back!

The host is friendly and accommodating, the food is excellent and well portioned. A favourite among the local residents. Do note there is a bit of a drive along a stretch of unlit dirt road, I would advise a first time patron to find Tin Roof in daylight.

Lovely place for lunch, pretty garden and delicious food.

Calamari was great and the atmosphere was good. Venue is a bit random and the bathrooms could be better
