This place is from the pits of hell!
TRAUMATIZING to patient and family!!! My daughter was on the adolescent unit for 6 days. She came home with so much more trauma and anxiety than before. She and all the patients there were treated like less than human. It was so dirty! All of her socks were COVERED in dust and dirt and her clothes smelled terrible. She asked for her bathroom to be cleaned as there were feces on the toilet seat from a previous patient. No one would clean it. She had to ask for a wet wipe to clean it herself. Fights would break out and the staff would be very slow to respond. A girl was raped by another girl! She said the treatment of the autistic children was one of the worst things she witnessed. She said the almost all the staff were mean and cold and that only one staff member in her 6 days there acted as if she cared. She was promised one on one counseling which she never received. She was so cold all the time. They were only given 1 thin blanket. She wore 2-3 layers of clothing the whole time and came back with a cough. She is pale and looks sick. She has slept in my bed every night since she has been home. I was given no information when she was admitted and had to beg for every bit of communication I received. Each time I would call to check on my daughter they would give very vague generic answers mostly about policy. The kids are only allowed to call out once a day for about 15 minutes. Every day I would hear the horrors of what my daughter was witnessing. She was terrified for her safety every moment. She was involuntarily committed for her depression. I begged for her not to be sent there because I ale knew this was not the environment she needed to be in. I had no idea how incredibly horrifying it was! Do not send anyone you care for and love here. The torment it put our family through will take years to heal from.
