My wife doesn't have a Google account, so she asked me to post this review on her behalf. True story, folks. Who makes customers feel like this?? Here's her review:
I purchased a piece of fine art from a gallery in Buckhead and they referred me to Thompson's to swap out the frame from a gold-silver tone to more of nickel-silver. When I arrived, I spoke with a salesman who helped me go through their frame offerings. I spent a great deal of time with him, since I had saved up for a while for this particular piece and it was meaningful as my first purchase of fine art. I was very excited when I walked into Thompson's.
When I arrived the store wasn't busy, but then it got busy. Aware of this, I specifically told the salesman that if he was busy, to leave me and I could look at the frames myself and make a decision. He said no, that he was happy to help. After a while, I decided to stay with the frame I came in with but specifically told him that I would make up for the time he spent with me in the future because I paint and had several pieces of art I wanted to frame soon.
I admit I was in Thompson's for quite a while and even showed the salesman two of my paintings on my cell, but once it got busy I was happy to have him assist other customers and, again, even mentioned this to him to demonstrate I was cognoscente of his time.
He thought I left the store, but instead I decided to browse. He then called the art gallery in Buckhead and berated them for having sent a "lady who wasted his time" and "if they were going to send someone like me in the future, to call him first". It went on and on like that for five full minutes!!
Needless to say, he was surprised when he noticed I was behind a makeshift gallery wall and had overheard the whole conversation. It was awkward, to say the least.
What started out as a joyful experience with my first piece of fine art devolved into a humiliating experience. I actually cried when I got into the car, as I haven't overheard such things since I was in the bathroom listening to a few mean girls make fun of me back in 7th grade. Yes, that is how terrible he made me feel... and I'm 40!
Still wondering why this salesmen didn't just take me up on my offer to have me browse myself and look at frames without him, as he obviously was upset enough to call the gallery and complain. So, I took my five other paintings to another frame shop and spent $800 framing them... money Thompson's would have earned.
