Gosh honestly whether you're a nanny, parent, or child you're going to feel like you've entered an alternate universe. Where every little section brings the wonderment and curiosity out of young and old. It's a place of entertainment, invention, thinking outside the box, and unabashed, pure joy. I almost wonder if I don't love this place more than the little one I take there? Also the staff just adds to the atmosphere.

This place is beautiful! My almost 2yo daughter had so much fun.
There are so many things to do. We spent here 2 hours, and at the end we were all exhausted.
The water play area is just beyond amazing. They have crocs and aprons for the kids to wear.
The reading area was super cute.
The baby/toddler area had a lot of things for the kids to explore.
The staff was friendly.

This is a really neat childrens museum. There are many different rooms to visit, with plenty to explore in each one as well as enough room for multiple families to be in at the same time. There are plenty of friendly workers around and the building is kept clean. We love that you can bring in your own lunch and drinks and that parking in the garage is validated, that helps keep a budget! The outdoor playscape is great as well!

I came to the Thinkery for a private 'adult night' where alcoholic beverages and finger-food was served for the visiting patrons and had a blast. While not as expansive as the childrens' museums I've seen in other cities, it certainly has enough content to catch the eye of a child for an hour or two. The water fixture on the second floor was definitely the gem of the venue. Be careful though, it's extremely easy to get your pants/shoes completely soaking wet if you're not watching!

My 7 and 3 year old love this place. I even bought an annual pass so we could go more often. It is a non profit so your fee for the pass is even tax deductible. Parking is free for three hours in the garage if you remember to get the ticket credited inside. There are a great many hands on experiences for the kids and the kid in you. STEM is King here.

I wish when I was a kid they had places like this! My son is 2 and he s been a handful of times and always is so excited to go into each room! The outdoor playground has activities for little ones as well! From the light room to the grocery store there isn t a dull moment! All the employees are always so nice and eager to help my son explore more! Story time is great, huge sit down area with bean bags and pillows, also with huge windows to let in all the natural light! Looooove this place. 100% recommend to all new parents!!

This is a neat museum. It's very pricey, though. I'd recommend going when they are running some kind of promotion. I also don't necessarily recommend getting a membership, as it doesn't really have enough activities to really attract you back again and again and again. That said, there are some cool exhibits and my children have had a blast when we've gone.

Place is a lot of fun but mainly for older kids. Obviously my 2 year old won't understand air pressure and microscopes and electronics. It's not as big as it seems either. While they do validate parking, you pretty much have to use the parking garage as there is no room anywhere. I'd go again when kids are older.

We love this place. My 2 yr old has a blast. my 9 yr old has a fun time too. Great indoor and outdoor activity. We bought the yr membership which pays for itself after about 4 -5 trips and we go atleast 3 times a month. Try to go on week days cause saturdays can be overwhelming with that many kids running around.

My son loved it. He threw up near the kitchen and hesitated to play. Staff was very friendly and helpful. They cleaned up carefully. A nice lady kept telling the poor little one its okay, until he felt relaxed. Recommend the membership for those who live in Austin.

I recommend you use the hand sanitizer dispenser every 15-20 mins to clean your kid's hands. Be aware that it is always crowded here which means germs can spread easily from kids touching everything. Otherwise a fun place for kids with several diff rooms & activities.

Good place to go for family with kids, and for school/after school program field trip. Reasonable price, and you can use your pass all day (operation hours). Meaning, you can eat out, or enjoy the outdoor activities, like public park (pet friendly), restaurant, coffee, ice cream shop, & movie theater.

Fun and educational with great events. It can be quite pricey so cknsider finding a friend to trade off buying annnual memberships, or go Wednesday 4 pm to 8 pm for pay what you want. (Or if you are a Bank Of America card holder, check out their museums on us program.)

This is a place of marvel, discovery, and joy like no other. So many all-hands-on, fun, super mentally-stimulating exhibits for kids and adults alike. You won't want to leave. When you finally have to, you'll want to come back again and again.

Heard great things about this place before we went and we were not disappointed. So much to do that more than one trip might not be a bad idea. Not exactly cheap, but a solid value with the quality and variety of activities offered.

This place is great for toddlers! On Mondays and Saturdays(? I've only been on Mondays) this place is 3 and under only. There are some very engaging sections of this interactive museum including water fixtures, painting, and air propelled gliders. I'm not sure how old would be too old for a kid to go, but my almost 2 year old loves it.

About Thinkery

Thinkery: Austin's Home for Science and Family Fun

Thinkery is a unique museum located in Austin, Texas that offers an interactive and educational experience for children and families. Formerly known as the Austin Children's Museum, Thinkery has evolved into a place where science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM) come together to inspire curiosity and creativity.

At Thinkery, visitors can explore over 40 hands-on exhibits that encourage learning through play. From the "Spark Shop" where kids can tinker with tools to create their own inventions to the "Kitchen Lab" where they can experiment with food science, there is something for everyone at this innovative museum.

One of the most popular exhibits at Thinkery is the "Currents" exhibit which allows visitors to create their own circuits using wires and batteries. This exhibit teaches children about electricity in a fun and engaging way. Another favorite exhibit is "Innovators' Workshop" which encourages creativity by providing materials such as cardboard boxes, tape, scissors etc., allowing kids to build whatever they imagine.

In addition to its permanent exhibits, Thinkery also hosts special events throughout the year such as summer camps for kids of all ages. These camps offer hands-on activities that focus on STEAM subjects like robotics or coding.

Thinkery also offers programs specifically designed for toddlers called “Little Thinkers”. These programs are designed to introduce young children (ages 0-3) to STEAM concepts through play-based activities like sensory exploration or music-making.

The museum’s mission is not only about providing fun experiences but also about promoting education in STEAM fields. The staff at Thinkery believes that by exposing children early on in life to these subjects it will help them develop critical thinking skills necessary for success later on in life.

Thinkery has received numerous awards including being named one of Forbes’ Top 12 Children’s Museums in America. It has also been recognized by local publications such as Austin Monthly who named it “Best Place To Take Kids” multiple times.

Overall, if you're looking for a fun-filled day out with your family while learning something new along the way then look no further than Thinkery! With its interactive exhibits and engaging programs catering from toddlers up until teenagers - there's truly something here for everyone!
