I signed a contract with Think Solar in mid-June 2025 for the installation of batteries and a heat pump. As of now, the job is still not completed properly, with inspections outstanding, and the entire experience has been extremely frustrating, time-consuming, and disappointing.
The heat pump was installed on 11 September, and the batteries on 9 November, yet neither system has been inspected to date. Throughout this process, I experienced repeated delays, poor coordination, and a complete lack of quality control.
To make matters worse, the pricing was significantly higher than other companies. I repeatedly discovered that friends and extended family received better deals for the exact same products, forcing me to constantly negotiate after the fact — something that should never happen.
Regarding the heat pump, I was almost installed a 270-litre unit instead of the 320-litre unit I signed for due to “lack of stock.” I only found this out by accident through the plumber on site, not from the company. I had to stop the installation myself. Later, another plumber was scheduled but failed to attend, wasting more of my time. When he eventually came the next day, he arrived late in the evening and completed both plumbing and electrical work alone because the electrician did not attend.
One major and unacceptable mistake was that the plumber did not install the separate switch supplied with the heat pump and instead connected it to an existing power point. This caused repeated power outages. Again, I was the one who identified the issue — not Think Solar — and had to push them to finally send an electrician to fix it. The company failed to check or verify that the work was done correctly.
The battery installation was even worse. The batteries were unavailable for a long time. After multiple calls, Think Solar offered a different model, sent new paperwork, and I signed it. After further delays and repeated follow-ups from me, they delivered the original batteries instead of the agreed replacement. I rejected the delivery, and the incorrect batteries sat in my garage for a month. Eventually, the correct batteries were installed in early November, again after many excuses and delays — and they still remain uninspected.
The batteries have not been inspected, still not operating and the summer season almost gone and I am severely disadvantaged despite having paid the majority of the cost upfront. I paid a significant amount of money and received little to no benefit during the period I needed it most.
This entire process has been hectic, stressful, and poorly managed. Choosing Think Solar was a mistake, and I do not recommend this company to anyone. I have evidence to support everything stated in this review.
