I m really looking forward to getting an appointme...

I m really looking forward to getting an appointment scheduled to ride for an hour. I was told that there s a long wait with only 8 horses.
I broke my hip a year and 2 months ago. I asked the surgeon if I would be able to ride again and he said yes! So I m trying to do it carefully for the first time and more. This stable was recommended by Hamilton at maunawili stables.
I have been riding in Waimanalo since saddle city had Saturday night roping and we would get a parent for a ride vto the stable at around 10 years old and sit on the arena waiting to hot walk the horses. I have offered to help with this stable since I m a retired nurse and have owned horses since I was 14. I ve been with 4h and entered in shows back in the 70 s at all the usual windward stables. I m not sure who would not accept a sincere offer to help out while I wait for my turn for my appointment. Just to be around my favorite place in the world.
What has happened to the stables in Waimanalo? Do they have so much business that it s full? I took my 2 horses to the big island for 5 years. I had 5 acres of grass and fenced property with a house and miles of roads to ride. Came back here in 2012.
Before big island I last boarded them at the old Theraputic stable right next to the trail entrance. Perfect spot and just a few horses and no drama with the horse people who are just so off. I just want you to know that I am really looking forward to seeing your stable and riding a horse. Aloha

About Therapeutic Horsemanship

Therapeutic Horsemanship is a non-profit horse riding program located in Waimanalo, Hawaii. The organization is dedicated to improving the minds and bodies of its riders by using horses as therapy tools. The program has been designed to provide a unique experience for individuals who are looking for an alternative form of therapy.

The therapeutic benefits of horse riding have been recognized for centuries. Horses have a calming effect on people, which can help reduce stress and anxiety levels. They also provide physical exercise, which can improve overall health and well-being.

At Therapeutic Horsemanship, the focus is on providing a safe and supportive environment where riders can develop their skills while also benefiting from the therapeutic effects of horse riding. The program is open to individuals of all ages and abilities, including those with physical or cognitive disabilities.

One of the key features of Therapeutic Horsemanship is its team of experienced instructors who are trained in both horsemanship and therapy techniques. These instructors work closely with each rider to develop an individualized plan that meets their specific needs.

The program offers a range of activities designed to promote physical fitness, social interaction, and emotional well-being. These activities include horseback riding lessons, trail rides, grooming sessions, and equine-assisted therapy sessions.

Equine-assisted therapy involves working with horses in a structured environment under the guidance of trained professionals. This type of therapy has been shown to be effective in treating a wide range of conditions including anxiety disorders, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), addiction issues as well as autism spectrum disorders (ASD).

In addition to its therapeutic programs for individuals with disabilities or special needs; Therapeutic Horsemanship also offers programs for veterans suffering from PTSD or other mental health issues related to their service time.

Therapeutic Horsemanship relies heavily on donations from supporters who believe in their mission statement: "To improve lives through horsemanship." Donations go towards maintaining facilities such as stables & arenas; purchasing equipment such as saddles & bridles; paying staff salaries & training costs; providing scholarships so that everyone can participate regardless if they have financial means or not!

Overall Therapeutic Horsemanship provides an excellent opportunity for anyone looking for an alternative form of therapy that promotes both physical fitness & emotional well-being!
