So I always enjoy stopping to take photos at these locations. I am somewhat of what you'd call a history buff and the animals are absolutely majestic! Thank goodness for a good camera and being able to roll a window down, as lately my knee has been a pain! Lol
Otherwise, You can not go wrong stopping here. I had one fella hop a fence so I made sure he kept his distance but I do have pics
This place is a gem! You can experience the prairie and the badlands all in one park. There also aren't predators in the park (besides the occasional coyote who have plenty of prairie dogs to eat) so I felt a lot more comfortable hiking the beautiful terrain
Incredible park! Wildlife everywhere and easy to drive through, with some very short hikes. Don t miss out on Boicourt especially the extra .3 mile trail after the sidewalk ends. Amazing views!!
Amazing National Park! There are plenty of easy walks with great views or more challenging hikes. Lots of bison and deer, and they can get very close to the road. the signs around the park are educational without being exhausting. The north and south unit are in different time zones, so plan accordingly if you are visiting both and want to talk with park staff.
We absolutely love teddy's park , such unique scenery and plenty of wildlife, even saw the wild horses but couldn't stop there to get pics,prairie dogs are my favorite, plenty of great picnic areas,trails,lookouts...its definitely worth stopping at!
An amazing park! Highly recommend visiting, if you can go to both the North and South unites as well as the Painted Canyon. All three have visitor centers. The geography is unlike anything on this earth, and looks like it's from another planet. Very unique and very pretty. Also do the hike to the petrified forest. Buffalo roam freely here so be aware of this as well as wild horses.
Both North and South unit are Amazing. Might be my favorite National Park so far!! The hiking trails are spectacular. Ran into wild horses and Buffalo on multiple walks in South Unit.
Get ready for an exciting adventure with lots of beautiful Buttes! There is plenty to do and see with many hiking trails, from simple hiking to complex hiking. One of the highlights was getting to see nature up close. Some we wanted to see, such as Prairie Dogs, Bison, Deer, Cows, Horses, and Birds; and some we didn't, like a snake...watch your step. There are a whole bunch of prairie dog towns, many that are on either side of the road too. Make sure to bring plenty of water - in the car and with you hiking. You can get dehydrated very quickly. Also, many areas don't have much shade, so prepare accordingly (sun screen, hat, aloe vera, sunglasses, etc.).

Hardly anyone at the park. The Badlands of North Dakota. Got to see a ton of animals up close and beautiful sites in the south and north portions of the park.
