Great teaching, friendly people & always wanting to help people... Love it...

The church at Battlecreek is a great church to attend! The last time I attended they were trying to make some changes and cater it to the younger generation. I have since moved to a smaller church called Thrive.

Indoctronating the children even if they don't understand. I signed up for the toy program for this christmas. I received the card and it said to be prepared for 3 hrs. I thought maybe, it won't really be that long. NOPE. It was, maybe even longer than 3 hrs. ( my first problem) First you check in, then they corral you in front of a stage where they play 4 or 5 games for various prizes. There are aprx. 400 or more people in front of this tiny stage. Next we were ushered into the santurary where they had the children kindergarden to 6th grade up sit in the very front. We were then treated to a nice Christmas program. This progam had all the affects, lights, fake snow, hip hop dance routine, and more. After ward, they ended up tying the show into the fact that Jesus gave his life for us so we could live. Next he asked everyone to bow their heads and pray, (2nd problem) he asked the children specifically, if they haven't asked jesus into their hearts if they would raise their hands, and then instructed them to repeat after him. Now- I believe in God. But, this is a decision that needs to be made with a parent and a child so that the child can fully comprehend the decision that he is making. 9 times out of 10, the child is going to do what every other child in the room is doing. He then asked those that said the prayer to stand. The majority of the kids stood up. He had then go out to another room where they could ask questions. The questions, should have came first. The other children went into another room. Now, it was just the adults. They had another preformance and then the pastor came out. The pastor then asked the adults if anyone wanted to accept Jesus into their hearts. After that, we were then ushered into another room where the numbers from our wristbands would be called and we would meet with a personal shopper to get our toys. My number was finally called and I went and met with a very nice woman. The room with toys was seperated by gender and age. I was allowed to pick out 1 toy. (third problem) We were there for more than 3 hours. I understand that its a blessing, but no, my time is valuable, and my child's soul is valuable as well. Is my son's soul worth one $12 toy that we waited 3 hours for? NO. I will not be going back, nor will I attend any of the churchs. Maybe instead of servicing 1000's of families, scale it back and maybe instead of spending 1000's on a over the top Christmas show, provide the families with some food for Christmas dinner. I am not asking for tons of toys. But perhaps, a toy and christmas dinner, a toy and a book, something just a little bit more. The show was mostly for them to look at eachother and soak up eachothers awesomeness. And I'm out!

Love this church. I especially like Pastor Alex's teaching. It is very anointed.

I have never seen so many joyous people together in one place in my entire life. Love just flows here. People are welcoming and encouraging. This is the best church I have ever been to. Try it!

My husband an I attended the 11am service, loved every minute we were there. The message was outstanding... Our pastor is awesome!

I love my church! Pastor Himaya and the entire staff are as genuine as they come. My husband and I, as well as our kids(12 and 7), love the ministry here.

I'd like to know if this big church pays property taxes to help cover the cost of the cops the city pays every Sunday to wave traffic out of this place and the other big box store churches around.

Finally a good church, with good teaching, my kids will go to.

Pastor Christopher Harvey is AWESOME! He really has a big heart for everyone ;)

Music is too loud and the preacher seems oblivious as to poor attendees as he brags about his life and wardrobe. Seems like a guy who forgot he is following a poor Carpenter. His ego is too large for me, personally.

My family and I have been a member since 2013. I love it there, good worship service, friendly people. Normally attend the 11am service, love the sermons, have activities for children all ages, summer camps. Good place for a family. Oh one of my favorite part is dinner with the pastor Alex, good food. Love my church! Per Senior Pastor Alex Himaya, this is the perfect place for imperfect people. I used to think God couldn't speak or work through a big church, but He is much bigger than anything I could ever dream up! Check this place out - in person or online - and see if this is where God wants you to be.

Upbeat worship service, a live pastor preaching, not a satellite by TV, welcoming crowd, loved the modern atmosphere all aimed at reaching people and Glorifying God.

The first ~30 years of my life, I went to church off and on. To be honest, even as a child, going to church seemed like a boring chore. The only thing I enjoyed about going to church was the time I was able to spend with grandparents.

When I visited theChurchat Battlecreek about 11 years ago, that immediately changed. There's absolutely nothing I don't like about my church. My two teenage children have grown up in this church; they love it as much as my wife and I do. More importantly, I've learned how to have a close relationship with my Savior. My walk with Christ happened because of Pastor Alex and my wonderful church.

People overly friendly to get you "in the fold", but after going there a year. I was in the hospital, my child asked for prayer for me. But NO ONE even called or visited me in the hospital for the whole 17 days I was there. Then I had a long recovery at home. I got a letter about my TITHES! UNBELIEVABLE!

Great church. It isn't like your conventional church. Pastor Alex always gives a great sermon.

Pastor Alex is great. He has a gift for speaking. His use of humor makes his messages very relatable. Worship is a great experience every time. I also have a son in the kids program and he loves it.

This was our first visit and my wife and I loved it. We first watched the Jonah series online and that was all it took. We are definitely coming back. The Lord was in this place.

Pastor Alex sermons are so educational, spiritual. This is a wonderful church. Great children programs. Recommend this church to everyone.

I went to Church At Battle Creek for the first time ever today and I will never go back. I got a letter saying we were excepted to there TC Toys and with so much money troubles right now I really appreciated the help. But when I went I was so disappointed in the staffs disrespect for Jesus Christmas and me. I understand when u go somewhere for help u shouldn't expect to much respect because u are looked down on already for being a charity case but for them to disrespect Jesus and be talking and laughing during prayer when u are suppose to be an example to all these kids that don't know Christ and make comments in people's ear shot about all the needy people. I guess growing up with a grandfather that was a preacher and taught me respect. Then when I tell a lady why I was upset she said that I needed to understand that they have been praying all day and didn't need to pray at that time I told her I understood that but I did not understand why they could not be an example for everyone else. So end of it all I left without any help for my kids Christmas because I could not tell them that they got gifts from someone who disrespect Jesus Christ

I believe church is a place for everyone to feel welcome and the one place they can go to not feel judged. If you're looking for a church like this, I most definitely would not recommend this one.
