Towel service . Dry wet sauna jacuzzi area . Not too crowded
Dated building but decent machines. Showers in the men's locker room breaks consistently. When it breaks it only has hot water.
Totally worth the family membership! This place is great for all ages. I've been swimming there two days in a row and I can't wait to go back again tomorrow.
The gym is up to date and air conditioned.
The basketball court is clean and almost never too crowded.
I have nothing but great things to say about the Sylvania JCC/YMCA!
Love this place. Great outdoor pool. Very nice employees. They will help you any way they can.
This is an older y that does not have an indoor pool. They do offer many classes and I like their gym. It's usually not as crowded as some other y's which makes it nice. During the summer my family will make the drive to this y almost every day for the outdoor pool. We absolutely love It!
Will revisit this review after repair of the chair lift. I must praise the staff for following up with me.. shows my that they truly care and assures me that they will follow through.
Update.. no repairs were made before the end of the season.
Friendly staff; clean; lots of activities and classes for all no matter if you're a beginner or advance.
Dated facility. It was difficult going here after living in Perrysburg. Childcare area vastly different than what we were use to. Ultimately cancelled our membership. Hope they build a new up to date center so we can go back soon.
I love the amenities and the staff at the JCC. Not your typical Y, they offer a large outdoor pool and sauna, steam room and hot tub in the locker rooms. The locker rooms definitely need to be updated, however.
From what I have seen of only being here twice for camp pickup and drop off it seems great.
Staff is great and very accommodating, but I wasn t able to lay out and tan because of the fact that the patrons gave their toddler children their own individual chair. I saw countless families of five each have their own individual chair even if the children were younger. Very rude to be so stingy and inconsiderate of others, so I believe a rule should be enforced that young children should share a chair with their siblings. I heard staff members even complain about it but it s just the simple fact that it isn t a general rule.
I love the ymca, id still be a member if I didnt have to make cuts in my budget.
Love to swim here. Clean pool lots of life gaurds, plenty of room to swim
This is a great facility that has something for everyone. Basketball, swimming and workout facility.
Staff is great! The facilities are getting pretty run down. I would love to see some money put into everyday maintenance
Nice outdoor pool. Plenty of room. Go early otherwise I've seen it crowded.
Somebody pooped in the hot tub and old naked dudes everywhere
Excellent instructors, wide range of fitness offerings.
Awesome place to start , continue or find a new way to be active. People are nice, and there's something for every fitness level or age.
Friendly folks, always willing to help, plenty of equipment and space.
Walked into the men's sauna only to find a FECES COVERED USED CONDOM on the floor! THIS PLACE IS DISGUSTING AND SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN!!
Great childcare here. The staff is very attentive, nice friendly, helpfull, cares for individual child's needs. I was so scared to leave my child. Now he loves it and i am so comfortable knowing he is there, safe and cared for. Only downside, no lunch served. They do serve snacks. Not enough funds for lunch yet. But as picky as my child is, packing his lunch works great for us!
Removing one star each day until they resolve the accounting issues they've created on my account.
I've been in the hot sauna, the showers, and the exercise room with weights and work out equipment ,everyone including the patrons and staff have been conducive to a good workout.
Very clean environment, great people ,friendly to work with
The facility is outdated cosmetically but the over all nuts and and bolts are there.
I signed up for membership at the YMCA/JCC right before Covid-19 hit.
My main reason for joining was to use the whirlpool, sauna, and the steam room to aid in finding comfort for my ailing back.
When Covid-19 hit, they closed all of those facilities down and have not reopened them. So now I am unable to use my membership and they refuse to annul my contract. I have not been back to the YMCA/JCC since March 2020, and they charge my account every month.
I went and talked to them and they said there is nothing they can do about it....that I have to keep paying even though I can't use what I signed up for.
I know one thing is for sure....I will NEVER ever sign up with the YMCA again, and I will not ever recommend them.
I love the family friendly atmosphere and the pool is our family favorite.
Google hours of operation that's posted is not accurate.
Close at 8 not 9 pm
Helpful staff at front desk, and helpful gym attendant! Helped me work with the machines without judgement!!
Love the YMCA its very conveniently located for me and my family however this facility is a bit smaller and a bit outdated compared to others I have been to. The group classes and staff make up for it Sue always welcomes you with a great big smile and knows you on a first name basis.
Loved it! Only issue I had though is the lifeguards were telling me and my bf we weren t aloud to jump off the blocks but then had others doing it
Also it says no diving off diving board and they were allowing certain people to do so and I think they should probably stop being unfair to others around them
This place used to be good for the summer time until they raised their prices. $70/month. That s crazy, especially if you only want to go there for the pool in the summer. I visited last week with my 1 year old and the baby pool was closed! Come on JCC, let s make things affordable like before.
It's okay and cheap. My only complaint is how small the classes are. I feel I can never get a spot.
Still pretty decent, though it seems that Covid restrictions bring out the worst in people. Still a great community resource & place to stay fit.
Clean, nice staff, quality equipment, good KidZone staff
Rating is not so much for the YMCA itself but for their sports program. Not being a member of the YMCA it cost us $75 for our son to play t-ball and it was $75 wasted. The program was very unorganized and very poorly ran. I would not recommend anyone that s not a member waste their money having their child do a sport here.
Truly a community experience! Tonight only 175th anniversary! 5:30 to 7 luau by the pool bring your trunks and your shorts and your membership card...
Nice enough place- but every single year for the past maybe 4 or 5 years there seems to be very little coordination for their swim classes.
Everyone I talk to has a different answer for the same question.
Nothing but confusion and some sort of disconnect with their swim lessons. The instructors that my daughter has had were not all that great, were always looking to see what else was going on besides their own class.
Doubt I will do swim class there next year, I ve just had enough!
Thanks for your response but I ve had enough phone time with the Aquatics director than I would ever care to. He was supposed to call me back last Thursday, today is Monday- no call. I m done
The variety of services classes sport events family participation children events the list goes on with this facility it is amazing affordable family oriented I totally highly recommend
It can be really dirty on the floor in the pool but I really like how the swim test is easy and I also really like how there are diving boards
Great family friendly staff! I wish they had a better system for reserving the raquetball courts, but it's very well maintained. They feature a child center and great facilities!
The staff who work here are good. However, MANAGEMENT PROVIDES A POOR FACILITY AND SERVICES OVERALL!! We took family membership in Jan 2019 with $80 per month fee. First of all, they only provide limited equipment in this location. And I typically went in the early mornings around 5:00-5:30 am during Jan-Feb 2019 time frame, and have found several of the tread mills in this location not working at all. I have come across this issue many times during my visits in this time period I am talking about. The management did not to fix it. We had to give up and handed over the entry keys and stopped using YMCA services. And when we requested to cancel our membership, they have created a big issues out of it. Well, first they have limited equipment, and then if any equipment is not working, they do not fix it. We did not find a way out. For the monthly fee they charge $80, it is not worth. Places like, Planet Fitness, provides a much better facility and services (plenty of newer equipment, clean facility, low fee $10, no contract). Planet Fitness is much better option in comparison to YMCA in this location. BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN YOU GET INTO MEMBERSHIP CONTRACT WITH YMCA!!!
The shower I really old and they barely work men's got a hot tub the women don't I don't like that one
I have never even been to a YMCA and I attempted to cancel my account and they do not listen. They keep charging you and then are so so rude. Not only will they keep charging your account after countless attempts to cancel a membership they threaten you with collections for the amounts they never should have been charging in the first place! I woke up today to find another charge trying to come out of my bank account despite my stop payment requests- which means they are trying to get around them. Do I have to go into witness protection to hide from the extortionists at the YMCA? Again , i have never even been into a YMCA because Of Covid. This is ridiculous and I would never ever recommend ever giving them your bank account information.
