This hotel is nice. I attended a wedding here and stayed in one of their superior double rooms. I must say the wedding venue was fantastic. However the food at the wedding wasnt great and the room did leave a lot to be desired. The Jacuzzi bath was literally a regular bath with jets sticking out of the side.. I was not very impressed with the room overall. I was also frustrated with how long it took to get from the front reception to the room. Not the best experience I've had in a hotel but was overall a pleasant stay, the staff were friendly and the breakfast was fantastic the next morning.

Quite nice for Afternoon tea, just a bit lacking in the selection,. Of the 3 hotels we've visited I would give this one 3rd place. The decor. is now a bit worn looking and dated. Still quite nice, on a nice day!

Celebrated my uncles life in the christian brother's here yesterday. The sevice and the attention shown by staff and by Mrs Fitzgerald was 1st class. Also big thank you to Conor. Most memorable and enjoyable day. Ye sure now how to treat customers. A lovely waitress who knows her job looked after us nothing we asked was to much.

Staff were absolutely fantastic, beyond that though, the food was sub-par and bland, our "king sized" bed was actually just two single mattresses pushed together and unfortunately the standard of cleaning was quite lacking, our room had random rubbish from the previous guest and the bathroom had hair on the floor

Would like to thank David for his excellent service on our wedding day 20/7/2020.We couldn't have asked for more. From the minute we met David We knew we had to go with him. David is the most understanding and considerate person .everything was perfect from the ceremony to the reception to food to the service. The staff are out of this world. There is no word to describe the service we got. My 8 year old even said the people here are so good,so to me if an 8 year old compliments it says a lot.would love to thank the following staff for making our stay comfortable and welcoming
Jonathan Coyle Jacky Dawson, Stephen, Paula,,Patricia, Ruth junior manager, David Kelly, Fionn, Monica Kavanagh, Miglena, Callum, Sue, Mairead.Conor Fitzgerald for checking on us.
Thank you all so much for making our day special. Everyone is raving about the food and the dessert trolley. Food was beautiful.
Thank you..would recommend anyone to consider Woodlands house hotel for their special day.
From the new Mr and Mrs McLaughlin

Stayed here recently during the midterm break. We booked it after seeing an online advertisment on Facebook . Lobby area nice, room was adequate but very run down . The 'spooky trail' and pet farm were disappointing, after reading about it online - it wasn't what we expected at all. Plus points were a kids club and bar was nice. We dined in the bistro, again was average . Vol au vent filling was congealed, and mash potato only luke warm.
Maybe because of the midterm , the bistro were too busy but personally we were a little disappointed as had great expectations.
However, staff were all very welcoming and helpful .

The hotel is located about 2 km outside of Adare. Without a car Adare is difficult to reach on foot from the hotel. After the pictures on the internet from the rooms we were very disappointed with our room (108). The room was very narrow for two people with suitcases. In the bathroom there was no possibility to hang up something. A lady at the reception had described this, but she said there were possibilities. We did not find her. In itself, the bathroom is impractical.
We arrived on a Sunday. There was a lot of business. We wanted to eat in the bistro, but had to wait more than an hour to get a table.
The following day it was much more relaxed.

For the most part, the staff were great, friendly and polite. The grounds and the hotel are beautiful. The leisure centre has everything you could want. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. We were disappointed the jets didn't work in the whirlpool bath though.
The evening meal left a bit to be desired. The staff weren't as friendly, we were trying to get their attention quite a lot while they stood chatting, a few times most disappeared leaving one girl (Theadora, who was smiley and polite) on her own. The service was slow although it wasn't that busy, the main course wasn't great; the steaks were cooked wrong and were quite tough.
We were over charged and argued with when paying our bill, having been told one thing at reception and something else in the restaurant. The woman we dealt with was rude and argumentative, she was quite patronizing and kept repeating herself without listening to a word we said.
Having said that, after returning to the bar we were greeted by more friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff. Including two ladies behind the bar who were a pleasure to talk to and more then happy to offer recommendations and advice.
I don't think we'll be returning, despite having been considering here as a wedding venue.
