Fantastic food, beautiful atmosphere, and excellent staff. A must if you're in the Kennebunk area.

This is the 4th time we have stayed at the White Barn Inn, but the 1st time we were there under Grace management. We actually stayed in the same Suite as before (Room #8). We found that nothing at all had been updated or repaired in the room since the last time we were there 4 years ago. Under a separate email, we will attach photos that clearly show the repairs/upgrades that should have been made in the Suite in addition to the hallway carpeting. We felt that for the cost of our stay and what we thought to be the high standards of a Grace Hotel - there was much to be desired. We also found that service at breakfast was not satisfactory - not the fault of the employees - but the lack of adequate staffing. We waited too long to have our order taken and to be served. I ordered an egg white omelet the first day and it was so greasy, I couldn't eat it. So, all in all - not a great experience.

Excellent food an service..a very special place..loved it all. Andrew was a fabulous server as we're the maitre De and valets.

Way, way over priced. tiny portions unless you are a sparrow. Snooty staff. Pompous and pretentious place that caters to rubes and out-of-towners who hope to rub elbows with the rich. Except rich folks know better than to come to this over-priced tourist trap when there are many better places nearby.

I have been going for the past 6 to 7 years and the recent quality has gone down in service . Not thinking of returning. My meal was small and oddly delivered. At least the cook and Inn keeper made an effort.

I was celebrating my birthday and had a fabulous experience. We had eaten here 5 years ago but had never stayed here at the White Barn. We stayed at the Beach House. You did not disappoint. We had a great time out at the pool, I had a massage and the meal was unbelievable. The staff was very personable, helpful and courteous. We will be back for sure.

My Wife and I were having a weekend in Boston and made a road trip just to eat here. The menu options were based on the number of courses and they brought small appetizers to sample between courses that were a surprise (at no extra cost). The atmosphere was nice. It was a great place for a quiet romantic dinner. I saw someone complained about having a party there or just getting a healthy meal. This is a dining experience. My wife and I usually find one of the best restaurants in the area when we travel and have a luxury date night. This place is at the top of the list. I did not find the staff snobbish. I did notice they were not constantly at the table talking to you but they were watching and at the table in an instant if needed. The atmosphere was nice and quiet. If you are looking for an excellent dining experience I would highly recommend The White Barn Inn.

We took the cooking class and thoroughly enjoyed our time with pastry chef Wilson and sous chef Ryan. Cheerful skilled energetic and entertaining followed by lunch with our magnificent food. Finally enjoyed our time with the bartender Jess a highly skilled mixologist.

Poor.. Reserved a table.. well in advance.. and when we got there.....we were told that our reservation was changed because a regular wanted our table.. it was our 22nd anniversary.. we spent many here.. to be treated this way was horrible.. and then forced to watch them all night due to the seat we were placed in... was torture.. worst 22nd anniversary.. We will not be back!!!

Attention to detail was the key. Eva and Albert know how to run an inn that makes guests feel completely at ease. They went out of their way to make suggestions and offer sights that we would not have seen. The fine dining is truly fine and the bistro is more than worthwhile (best clam chowder ever; we had it brought in to the fine dining).

My mother, sister, and I had reservations at the White Barn Bistro for 7:30 this past Saturday evening. We arrived early hoping to have a drink at the bar prior to being seated for our dinner. We were seated immediately. There was a party of 3 in the room besides us. A waiter came and asked if we would like water. We said that will be great. A few minutes later we were asked if we would like to order a cocktail. We each ordered a drink. The drinks arrived 20 minutes later. Prior to our receiving our drinks the waiter asked if he could take our order for dinner 3 times. I said that we would like to place our order after we received our drinks. There were only 2 people in the bar...we never figure out why it took so long to get our drinks to us. We certainly got the feeling that the staff was in a big hurry to serve us and get us out of the restaurant. The waitress we had was very cold. We were certainly disappointed in the White Barn.

Especially courteous, attentive service from start to finish of our one day stay. Not as pre-possessing a physical plant as many Relais sites, but they make the most of what they have. Rooms are not as luxurious as they might be, but bathrooms are first-rate. Downstairs sitting room with fireplace is very comfortable, and restaurant is fabulous. Inn staff could not have been better.

The only Small disappointment was that almost all external activities in Kennabunkport had been closed after the Columbus Day. The season could be at least a week longer..

The restaurant experience was underwhelming. The ambience was lovely, though, I might add, a bit chilly, especially in the adjoining rooms where we were ushered while awaiting our table. That said, the atmosphere was nice, as was the service. We were unfortunately informed that they were "out" of the swordfish, which half our company had wanted. The consensus of our group was that the food was about average, definitely nothing superlative, and for a restaurant that charges $125+ per person, one would expect food of a much higher caliber. Re: the desserts, I might add that the actual presentation was a bit on the amateurish side. Definitely not worth the cost, especially with many equally nice restaurants in the area at a fraction of the outlay.

Elegant perfection. Wife and I went there oct 6th. Our waiter was wonderful with so much knowledge. The interior is beautiful and it is noticable that there is much attention to the environment. It is very obvious that much work goes into each day, each evening, and each meal.

Just wow! I was impressed with my stay at White Barn. This property is elegant, graceful and close to nature.We are overwhelmed by courtesy of staffs, clean room and brilliant facilities. And on top of it mouth watering, delicious, yummy, seafood by the star chefs .The breakfast are enough to fuel one until post lunch and even tea time! So overall excellent ambience, food quality, very good service and value

We did not stay here but had a 5-star dinner, superb food, and service! The food was excellent and a great value actually in the Bistro, 3-course dinner $48. Top-notch service as well in a quiet lovely setting. I can see why Former Presidents come here for dinner.

We recently returned from a short get away at Grace White Barn. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the accommodations. The staff are genuinely concerned about your experience, and work extremely hard to make you feel right at home. The location was great if you like to explore by foot, as you are a five minute walk from town or the beach. If you get the opportunity I highly encourage you to dine at the restaurant. We will return.

This place is at the top end of pure luxury in food, accommodation and service. We would love to return someday soon.

This is one of the best places to eat in Kennebunkport. There have only been a few occasions where I thought the plate didn't quite meet up to the price tag. The valet parking is an excellent touch and the staff could not be nicer!

From the moment we arrived, to the moment we left, we experience nothing but grace and charm from this luxurious property. Even after our stay, we were promptly called and notified because we left something behind. The entire staff takes the extra step to ensure your stay will be special. It was our anniversary weekend (I only mentioned this once in passing when I called) and we were greeted with wine in our room and themed surprises throughout our stay. We attended the Mixology class and felt as though Hugo was one of our long time friends we were sharing cocktails with. The food was incredible and the attention to detail is unmatched. Thank you for a beautiful stay. We cannot wait to return!

Our room was comfortable with an amazing bathroom--stand alone tub and pebble floor shower. Fireplace too. The view wasn't great, but the food more than made up for any shortcomings. Everything was perfectly prepared, though I would skip the wine pairing.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Grace White Barn Inn & Spa. The accommodations were outstanding! Our private cottage was incredibly charming and had every amenity one could possible need. From the moment we arrived to the time we departed, the service was impeccable.

We also had the opportunity to enjoy the incredible 4-course meal at the Forbes 5 star, AAA 5 Diamond Restaurant absolutely delicious! I highly recommend it!

We photographed a wedding at the White Barn Inn and Friendship Cottage this late fall and it was absolutely perfect! The Inn followed all of the COVID protocols and that put everyone at ease. The property was beautifully decorated for the fall and the couple held a small, intimate dinner for 8 in the wine cellar after their ceremony in front of the fireplace in the Friendship Cottage.
The staff was so attentive and professional. Highly recommend the White Barn Inn for intimate weddings!

My husband and I had a lovely stay here last week. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was accommodating and friendly. Although we went elsewhere for dinner, we had a lovely breakfast with freshly squeezed juice and home made pastry. We also enjoyed drinks with live piano music in the evening. Bicycles are available to ride to the nearby shoreline, or shopping areas. We look forward to another stay in the future!

We enjoyed the room, food, and especially, the people. We will be back!!

Truly a spectacular Christmas dinner. Wish there were more stars to give. From the scallops and lobster spring roll to the salmon and risotto, each bite perfection. And Loon two....the most exquisite accommodations in Maine!

This place is remarkable! the atmosphere definitely romantic and unique. The food was delicious the drinks were well balanced. Amazing place especially for special occasions

Firstly, this is a very well kept property. I feel like every blade of grass is cut with a ruler. The restaurant venue is really unique, being in an old barn (with somewhat of a 1990s flair). The service was well timed, efficient, and cold. The food on the tasting menu was good but we expected more from such a well rated property. Its as if a regular 3 course meal at an ok restaurant was stretched out. Also, we came to Maine to experience some Maine ingredients not seen elsewhere (not lobster!) and we thought we would find that here, but alas....

very disappointing. thinnest sheets I have ever experienced in a hotel. no lunch service. had to take a taxi to town. very good restaurants there. the restaurant 7 had a far superior wine list then I saw for Christmas lunch. that was also disappointing with such a small banquet based menu. very little water pressure in the bathroom sinks. the closet is a joke. how could 2 people possibly stay in the room? the 2 person shower is fine, but I have seen better, especially outdoor showers, and the showers in the penthouse suites at the Bellagio. very nice staff though. pleasant, and friendly, helpful. I have no idea how you got rated a relais et chateau. worst one I have ever stayed in. I will never return, nor recommend. the halekulani does not even have a resort fee for coffee and tea service. nor does the plaza Athena in paris. one major thing I forgot is that one day the room was not even serviced. I am tired of talking about all of these deplorable things. sincerely, Kenneth d. brohard.

A repeating noise in the room started at 4 am and never stopped... we recorded it but staff wasn t helpful. We had late dinner at the restaurant (a very enriched tasting menu that left no room to taste the fabulous Maine local ingredients). Worst place we had in Maine.

This was our first time to the White Barn and this was the first time in 35 years that I wasn't cooking the Thanksgiving Dinner. So I wanted it to be special. It not only met, but it exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend this beautiful place. The ambiance is breathtaking, the service was unbeatable and the food was a feast for both the eyes and our palates. We will return...often.

This is a place that takes themselves way, way to seriously.....a feeling of superiority prevails.....without justification. Stuffy in an age of casual relaxation.....formal where formality is not a virtue. They appear to have forgotten that they are in MAINE!!!!

Currently spending what was supposed to be my vacation fighting with The White Barn Inn to get my money back.

This hotel did NOT inform me that a COVID test was required to stay at the hotel, so we had to leave. Okay, fine.

But why KEEP our money (over $1500) when we DIDN T STAY AT THE HOTEL?

This is basic stuff. If you don t fulfill a service, you shouldn t keep a customer s money. It s as simple as that.

DO NOT PRE-PAY FOR THIS HOTEL! You will NOT get your money back if it doesn t work out, for whatever reason!

It s not worth the stress and hassle. Just book a room at Inn By The Sea in Cape Elizabeth. It s just as nice and you will never have to deal with this kind of craziness.

Nice inn in a great location. the decor is a bit tired I would say. When you are paying $1000 per night the place should be pristine, which I did not find it. There is peeling wallpaper in our room, finger smudges on the doors and a carpet badly in need of replacement

Definitely EXTREMELY overpriced for the quality and quantity of food served. Despite having no alcoholic beverages, very small portions of food that was at best mediocre, and deserts that seemed to be out of a tin box our tab came out to $ 330.00 not including gratuities. The sad part is that we traveled about two hours to try out this place, when we got home from our two hour trip back home, my husband and I were already hungry again. Not worth the $ 160.00 tab for each person at the minimum.

Very nice staff and accommodations all around. Oudtanding food. Our bathroom was spacious and very relaxing with shower and tub. Will definitely stay again.

This is a very unique experience. Make sure you have deep pockets when you go. Food was unique and delicious. Expect to pay over $200 a person.

Good food, not amazing. Service extraordinary. Food not prepared as requested. Education on what was edible and not edible on the plate ruined the dish. Price was not proportional to the food quality. This was the second time for us. First time was amazing 5 star experience.

My wife and I enjoyed every part of our stay at the white barn inn. We were looking for a quick relaxing getaway and it did not disappoint. We stayed in one of the garden rooms and it was wonderful. Also the staff was very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend to anyone interested.

White Barn Inn STOLE $1500+ from us

We booked and pre-paid for a 3-night stay at the White Barn Inn in October. We drove 5.5 hours to get there only to be told that we needed a COVID test to check in. Tried to get one in town with their "helpful" list of testing sites with 2-3 day turnaround time. We had no choice but to drive home the same night.

Despite what the team says, this very simple piece of information ("YOU NEED A COVID TEST TO STAY AT THIS HOTEL") is not conveyed on their website or in confirmation emails (a link saying "click here to see the CDC guidelines" is NOT THE SAME thing as clearly stating that VERY IMPORTANT piece of information). They claim they called and left a message with our assistant (this is the same hotel that told us a "manager would be in touch with us to resolve the issue" the same day it happened -- 3 days later, no phone call, no response to our email, no refund). Seriously?

Finally, I call them for a refund and an explanation and the manager was completely unhelpful and told us we would not be getting our money back.

Regardless of who is "at fault" for this COVID miscommunication, WE DID NOT STAY AT THE HOTEL. So why would we pay $1500 for NOTHING? It's not like it's 50 bucks. It's FIFTEEN HUNDRED DOLLARS.

They offered us credit, but WHY would I want credit for a hotel that has completely disrespected us and basically is attempting to steal $1500 from us for DOING NOTHING???

Unless you want to be completely RIPPED OFF, do NOT stay at this hotel.

Very smart even posh! Dress code so wear a jacket! Lovely environment, live piano music, fabulous service and great drinks! And the food was amazing! We started with the duck - one portion between two - lovely flavours! Followed by the lobster and the salmon. Grand Marnier souffle plus more!

The dining experience was fantastic. The staff was extremely helpful during my proposal, and the food was some of the best I've ever had.

it was terrible never staying again might sue for the price.

Splurge for the dining room rather than the bistro.
