Expect to spend a good amount, but your taste buds will appreciate it
Excellent cuisine, outstanding service, wonderful ambience, and reasonable prices. Make a reservation and ask for the corner booth looking at the windows. Donathan, our waiter, recommended a perfect wine to pair with the pasta.
It is all about the location, not crazy about the food, it is the type of place to see and to be seen, and pay their rent with high prices.
This restaurant was an amazing experience. We had a wonderful time and the food was delicious. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was warm and inviting.
Very cool restaurant bar in the Grove. We were there for a work event, and the staff was super cool and very attentive. The food was outstanding as well as the service. Will go there again.
I have now gone to the whisper Lounge on two separate occasions and tried two different entrees and both have been wonderful. The grilled salmon is great, but the burger is even better. The cheese oozes off the sides, and the quality of meat is just unparalleled.
We went to this restaurant on Valentine's day; They said they have a special menu and it's not their regular menu on that day. There were not many choices but even worse the food was really bad! absolutely tasteless chicken & Scallops. very disappointed :(
Great food outstanding drinks try the house old fashioned
This lamb burger is honestly the best I've ever had. Gorgeous location, gorgeous food, and it is so worth it. Please eat here. To the couple that tried to get away with the fake British accents though, why? Why????
This is not the place for vegetarians or people that enjoy good service! Their vegetable dishes; roasted cauliflower, brussel sprouts and squash curry, all had animal broth in them. And they can't remove it from the dish. Not what I expected from an upscale dining restaurant in LA.
I ordered the squash curry and cauliflower anyway since I'd just driven from south Orange County and was starving. The squash was flavorful and delicate but the cauliflower reeked from the fish broth, even my sister, who eats meat, thought it smelled bad.
I ordered a Dirty Martini which was tasty and strong but took a very long time to arrive. Our server only came to our table three times, the first time took about 10 minutes for her to come over, the second to drop off drinks and the third to drop off the check. She seemed annoyed when I asked if any of the dishes were vegetarian and did not offer any substitutions. I don't remember her name because I just wanted to forget her and her service the minute I encountered it. I get it, I was a server too, but I was always told to check your personal problems at the door. Fake it till you make it, after all!
She never checked on us to see how the food was or if we needed anything else, I probably would have ordered another drink had she asked. Oh well.
The decor is beautiful, soft, warm lighting and complementary beige and white interior. And a very cool, large chandelier installation. But decor is probably the best aspect of the restaurant.
I'm always looking for nice restaurants in LA and Orange County to dine at, and will go back if the service and food is good so Whisper will not be earning my service again.
It's right at the entrance to that awful parking structure at The Grove and can be completely missed since it's off the beaten path but overall it's a fantastic little spot that feels hidden and has really decent food and drink.
Oh also, you have to sit on the patio area which is pretty big.
I went on a date here. Its safe to say you don't have to whisper , lol. I thought the food was pretty good but the drinks were over priced for their value. I would still go back and give it another try. The day I went it wasn't super busy but the staff wasn't on it. We waited a while to get our check after asking a few times. However, like I said , I will give it another try. I love their sweet potato fries !
I went to this restaurant on a date, and made a reservation for 7:30. We get there a bit early at 7:15 and turns out they already gave our table away because they wrote us in for 7:00, even though I contacted them the day before to confirm the reservation. They didn't even call me before giving away the table. The staff at this place is grossly incompetent and certainly doesn't deserve a dime to be spent on it!
Some of the best customer service in LA. The manager or owner that I met today was an absolute pleasure. He definitely knows how to take care of the customers.
Food was fantastic, although the name of the restaurant must be some sort of joke, because this place gets LOUD.
Their service is slow. I ordered chicken and it was tasteless and still not cooked.
Great atmosphere and service, beautiful yummy food!
The steak and chicken dinners were great. Loved the banana pudding dessert. Our server Mia was exceptional. Portions were a little small, especially the chicken.
The best as always. The staff is what makes everything exceptional.
Great service but deeply average food. I have nothing else to say. Would not come back.
Tucked away at the Grove and always a great quiet spot to eat good food.
The filet mignon skewers are a must!
Great food, reasonably priced with good service. I had the salmon for lunch, with a side of sauteed spinach. It also came with a smalk salad. Food was delicious, and very reasonably priced. Comfortable atmosphere.
Quality, fresh, and inspired menu. Lovely and chic atmosphere.
Good Pasta and Burger. Not a good service. Everything is so fast and they want you to go outside fast.
Very good spiritual Crystal healings I was born with the gift Ruth 5th generation give me a call
The Whisper restaurant has a great menu and is a great place for happy hour after work. The outdoor patio gives you a great view of other Grove shoppers and is perfect for people watching.
Took 20 minutes to get our cup of soup. Seriously? The food was pretty bad as well. How come it has 4.2 stars ?
I took two of my friends here for their birthday and I must say this place is exceptional. The food was very delicious. All the drinks were great as well. I like how they had a variety to drinks especially for me since I am not a drinker. This is a ,very nice and classy atmosphere. The service was exceptional from the time we step in the restaurant until up to the time we left. Mr Kelly and his staff really made us felt welcome and comfortable. Every food item or drinks that was recommended to us was excellent. Will definitely return. I highly recommend The Whisper Restaurant and Lounge.
Had a great dinner there the other night before seeing a movie. The staff was very helpful with excellent suggestions. The cocktails from the bar were also made perfectly. Sitting out on the patio is very comfortable with all the great weather we have in LA. Can't wait to go back!
Not a bad spot for a cocktail if you find yourself needing a drink after (or before) some shopping or a movie. Surprisingly good selection of Rum! The food and service are good.
Overall a nice option while at the Grove, but not a destination in and of itself.
Decent spot to grab a quick cocktail before OR after dealing with the parade of people the Grove brings
Great place to grab a drink before a show or while waiting for people to arrive. Service was top notch and friendly. I look forward to coming back and trying their dinner menu.
Most awesome food. Being a Malaysian living in LA, I am very thrilled to have this gem of a place! Food is a little lighter as opposed to authentic Malaysian but the food is of high quality and healthy. Good prices and generous portions too!
Nice setting, poor food. Wings were undercooked, broccoli salad was poor. Service was mediocre.
Fantastic! Loved, loved, loved all the food and the service was super too.
Great food, selection, quality, price and service
I have been here a couple times now - drinks are ok, but food is fantastic!
Bathroom nasty... took 15 mins to get waited on so we got up and left... place SUCKS
Really good food and great happy hour. Have been twice. First time had good service and restaurant was busy, second time I had very lousy service and was one of 2 or 3 tables total and the bartender served us. Their prices are too high to not have a good efficient server. Was very disappointed that it took my colleague and I an hour and a half to have lunch because they were so slow. Will try again to see if better, if not, will go elsewhere.
The manager of this place was HORRIBLE. Rude. Unaccomdating. Smug. Just TERRIBLE. It was my birthday and I made a reservation in person a week in advance. But when my friends and i showed up our table had not been reserved on the patio like i had specifically requested. The managers 1st response was "well I can't make people move." He didn't apologize or try 2 accommodate us AT ALL. Eventually after giving him the crazy eye he reluctantly figured it out. But terrible customer service! This guy doesn't need to be in the service industry. The waiters however were VERY NICE. Had it not been for them I would give a 0 rating.
After spending some time shopping at the Grove this is the perfect way to end out the night. The bartender's here are super attentive and you feel like they are personally serving you when you order a drink. I know it sounds weird but but something about how they point you out and get your attention rather than the other way around is such a nice change to see in LA. Drinks are delicious, specials were fantastic, and all in all not too expensive. It's a little small, but we went on a Friday night and it wasn't too packed. Perfect ambiance and level of intimacy. Would def go again.
The wine is expensive but it's a good pour for the price. My husband enjoyed his manhattan which was served sans ice and with ample flavor.
The newly (to me anyway) added heaters above the bar on the quasi outdoor patio are a brilliant addition and keep you very toasty. I like this intimate spot- it's away from the crowds and has a great vibe. It's a totally different experience from the Farmer's Market so if you're looking to experience the Grove in a new way, try this place. The tables are nicely placed and allow for privacy. It's not a place to be seen but rather a place to tuck yourself away while still getting fresh air which is a unique option compared to the other dining options in the Grove.
I really enjoyed eating the food but the drinks were not that good for the price i payed. Me and my mom enjoyed sitting outside. I would go again because everything was very nice. I just will not buy drinks again.
A stunning view and service is not something worth because of the scenery and especially at night
