Very disappointed Whale chips were soggy with Grease And undercooked My kids chicken fingers or overcooked Most importantly my beer was flat Go to the original !

Went to the restaurant today for lunch and they are closed. A paper note on the door did not give any reopening date. Be nice if they put that on their website so we didnt make the trip for no reason. The Mexican place next door Blue Agave is wonderful though! Great food.

Clam Chowder was salty and not very good. Oyster Po' Boy was so so. Waitress was unfriendly.

Wanted tobe have all you can eat snow crab. First round took half an hour. Second round took about twenty minutes to get. Forgot to refill our drinks while waiting...third round we where told they had no more crab. Three hours later I am still here and substitute meal was HORRIBLE! Just over a bad experience. We will not be repeat customers.

Very disappointed...first time and definitely the last time...we had heard all about The Whale. Being lovers of the Whales Rib. We had a client in town and chose to go there..him being from Ohio and we figured with a name like The Whale fresh fish would be on the menu and good...arrived and the seat was dirty. Waiter wiped seat with a dirty wet rag so I couldnt sit. Then the table had crumbs everywhere. And the place appeared dingy...I said, this is not a good sign...The waitress was good..we ordered beers and it took forever. She stopped by to take our order and even commented. Don't know why your drinks are taking so long..and long it was. We ordered calamari as an app. It was cooked perfect and tasty. .we finally ordered. Blackened chicken, dolphin, and shrimp..she talked me into getting the Killer Whale style on the shrimp..she said the shrimp was with Panko breadcrumbs and delicious. Our most popular...menu says corn crusted and a sauce. I didnt want the potatoes so I ordered a side salad. The chicken came and our guest said it was just okay and was being polite. Very small piece of chicken..the dolphin came and it appeared to resemble a very small piece of frozen tilapia...I'm picturing a big piece of fresh Dolphin...nope...my shrimp arrived. Panko breadcrumbs were thrown all over the top of the shrimp in a heap...shrimp were not cooked with them. The sauce was splattered like a dollop from a spoon onto the corner of the dish and even over the side. There was so much panko I had to search for the shrimp which for $19.99 I would have thought as a dinner the shrimps would be larger...my side salad came, but was served in which looked like a silver small mixing bowl..with a massive amount of romaine lettuce and the ends only were served. with one slice of tomato and 4-5 small croutons. That was it! I asked for crumbled blue cheese so that helped it. However if it wasn't for the salad and plain shrimps I would have been hungry. Very very small portions and over priced.. My husband did not want us to say anything so we finished our dinner and left. Our Client Asked...So this Was your first time and you made me your guinea pig! We all agreed. Never going back...to me...it's not hard to have a place with exceptional cleanliness and fresh food and decent sized portions. it comes from the top...all expectations...needs more care more pride and more integrity..not to mention better tasting fresh food..bar food would have been better! BTW I mentioned this place to a group of friends and 3-4 of them said they would never go back as it was horrible. We all agreed!!

As of today 8/15/15 there has been no response from the owner as to our experience. Another disappointment.

One of the worst experiences through Dreamtrips I have ever experienced. The bar tender seemed miserable. Very inattentive, and the food was not great. When asked to take our order, the bartender on shift was apparently getting off and even when she was asked twice still pawned the order off on the new bartender as she was more concerned with going home. We never did receive our drinks and didn't bother asking a 3rd time. The oysters we ordered were very muddy and we didn't even bother finishing them. I won't be suggesting this place nor will I be dining again....

JUST OK. nothing special about it .. nothing fresh about it .. red lobster with a cooler name.

Yeah, what a shame, big thumbs down. Decor is cool, and would be a great hangout. Except... Would it hurt to wipe down and clean up? Walked up to the bar on weekday evening, and had to look for a spot that didn't have used napkins, dirty plates and glasses from previous patrons. And, the place was near empty. I can see why: Staff that could not have been more unfriendly, and gave off that, 'we just dont care attitude.' Kitchen staff and bar waitress arguing about something. If the owners ever read this review: your establishment is a perfect example of why we rarely go out to eat any more. We didn't eat, even though we were hungry. We had a drink and got the hell out. Tired of going to these joints that dont care enough to give even a friendly greeting, let alone clean the bloody place. And you wonder why your business is in the tank. It's called customer service. I realize I probably am living in the past, where customer service was important. This hole is just another example. I live nearby and you blew it. What I will do is, never come back, and make sure I tell all my friends and family never to go here ever.

Horrible food and service . Table was sticky when we sat down. Clam chowder was like paste, way too much flour in it. When we complained the waiter said gee... everyone likes it thick!! Half the Bucket of clams were closed.... won't go back.

If you bring your family here you clearly don't care about their health or what they put in their mouths. Dirty plates. The spinach and crab dip were cold and we sent them back (for another nuke). The tortilla chips are sopping wet in grease. I ordered yellowfin medium rare and it came back tough. How? I dunno. For the kids we got fish sticks. They had so much batter on them you couldn't taste the fish. The chips they included were, again, sopping wet with grease... And so was the batter. This was for my freaking kids. Disgusting and lending to the obesity epidemic for sure. The portion size was enough for two of my kids and some left over. At least the place was clean and didn't smell terrible. Our server was great. It's a shame she has to share the tip. What a nice girl.

Server Nicki was very sweet and went out of her way to accommodate us. Yummy soups. Whale fries and mashed potatoes came out cold. Fish was delicious. I still prefer the original Whales Rib on the Beach.

Their all you can eat is amazing! My boyfriend loves this place and the fact that it's inexpensive.

I have gone to the Whales Rib in Deerfield for quite a few years. When I heard that The Whale was opening in Parkland and would have the same menu I thought great ( since I live out west) I have noticed that the service, and food value has been going downhill the past few times I dined at the restaurant. I recently visited the restaurant and ordered the blackened yellow tail tuna. I was served 2 small pieces (each piece barely 3"x3") I noticed the owners response to another review stating that they serve 8 oz servings. The piece I had was barely 4-5 oz. it was supposed to be served with seasonal vegetables ( there were none on the plate. ) I substituted a baked potato for the rice, bad choice, the potato was luke warm, hard( appeared to have been cooked earlier in the day and held in some type of steamer. I ordered a side salad, never received it. My dining partner ordered the Mahi sandwich, at least it was an 8 oz portion. The sandwich used to come with lettuce, tomatoe and a slice of red onion on it, this time none of these items were included with the sandwich. The whale fries , normally good were barely warm. I wasn't the only unhappy customer as the owner was arguing with a diner that had problems with a dinner at a large party next to us. I guess I will have to go back to the east side side of town because I don't think I will be dining at The Whale any more.

Having a great time, staff is woundiful. Had ipswich steamed clams, really good. Live music great atmosphere for a great time.

I work in the area and have gone for lunch a few times. Service is alright- we have had to ask the waitress for things that she should offer us like a glass for the beer, silverware and even the lunch special menu. The portions are not very consistent. I've had the mahi sandwich and had a nice size piece of fish, next time I went the fish was half the size. Overall it's not that great. Whale fries and whale sauce are decent.

UNDER NEW OWNERSHIP!!!!!! I ordered the tuna and it tasted like wet dog. I returned it after one bite even though I NEVER returned anything before in my life!!! Was told by manager Erica she ate half of it, it was "good" and I still had to pay for it!!! I waited tables in the past and was always told we would be fired if we ate off any customer left over food - not acceptable!!! The food was cold and my husbands fish was overcooked!! Used to go every 3 months for Uall family gatherings - NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!

Overall, my experience here was alright. The fish here is authentic and they have a wide variety to choose from. The crab that I had was tasty but I tried a few other dishes and side dishes that were not acceptable. I tried chicken that was overcooked and a few other seafood selections, also overcooked. But I try the clam chowder and it was under cooked...I look for consistency, and I was not getting it the few times I've been here. I don't plan on going back anytime soon. The whale fries could be tastier if they weren't so drenched in grease. It's unhealthy. It's a family-friendly place but I could do without it.

We love this place, we have been here with family, friends and sometimes just me and my wife. We love the raw bar deals they have on Thursdays, the raw bar selection is always fresh and delicious. Last time we were there it was Tuesday and they had deals on the Tacos, the bartender was very friendly and he told us we could combine and choose different fillings, we ordered fish, scallops and shrimp. They were all very tasty. The place has been changing their crew and we noticed the new people working there are very quick and friendly.

Inside looks dirty, the food is alright but I've had better. Overall, would not come back. Though it's been about 3 months since I've been there and they probably cleans up a bit, yeah I still wouldn't go back.

Great, just left and had a great time. We will be back!

On Saturday March 28, 2015 I went to this restaurant because I had a gift card for $25 that had given me for FPL Energy. It has been my worst experience with trying to use that gift card. I had to talk to two different managers who did not want to apply the discount, after a while they accepted the gift card for $15 but was told I had to wait 24 hours to use it, that they needed my phone number to make sure I did not use the gift card more than once, that I have to learn to follow directions, the manager made fun of me with some American customers who were at my side, etc. My worst experience was a nightmare for a gift card for $15. It is not a matter of money but customer service. I spent $93 and but the way my tip for the waiter was $15

this sign was on the door when we got there....They we're even not courteous enough to let a message on their answering device...Never go back again!!

The food was great the cook Eric.Is excellent and the server Candise was a great server very attentive to our table .

You gonna try the fries ,great atmosphere, nice back patio as well. The sea food taste fresh and was very well prepared. I would recommend it and will definitely go back.

My family and I went the The Whale on a Friday night. It was pretty busy, but we didn't have to wait too long. I haven't been there in a while so I wanted to check out the "new" Whale and their menu.

I ordered the Whale Fries as an appetizer and they were perfect. They came quickly and hot. They were crispy and not overly greasy. I LOVE the key lime dipping sauce.

I had the Skirt Steak Salad and it was cooked perfectly. There was also a drizzle of balsamic glaze. I was pretty full from gorging myself on the Whale Fries and the soup, so I couldn't finish the salad. I gave the rest to my husband and he loved it too.

My husband wanted a fried shrimp dinner, which isn t offered on the menu. Our server Tarah offered to make one for him, which was a nice touch. The shrimp were nice and large and I liked the tempura/beer batter.

My daughter had the kid s fried fish and my son had the Chicken Bites. Both loved their food, and they are picky eaters.

Our server, Tarah, was awesome and she interacted a lot with the kids, which I always love. I hate when servers treat kids like inanimate objects on a chair. Tarah diid not do this!

Overall, the service was great and the food was also great. It was one of the better restaurant experiences we ve had lately.

We arrived at 11:30am on Tuesday. We asked that our lunch be served all at once. The clam chowder was undercooked; potatoes were semi-raw. The fish tacos were good. But the Whale Fries did not arrive until 10 minutes later. The service was very slow. Perhaps the chef wasn't ready to offer lunch when they opened, although that's not an excuse. Normally, this is a good restaurant. I will return and hope the service was poor on that one day only. If they're not ready for diners when they open, the servers should tell us.

This was our second time at the Whale .. our first time last year was during busy season, so we just decided not to come back until it was a bit slower.
We went on a Saturday night and it was not crowded at all. The waiter was friendly and started out quick. My wife ordered a fish dinner, which she loved, but the size of the fish was rather pathetic, but delicious. One of my daughters had the chicken and again other than being less than the size of a child's fist, she liked it very much. OUr first problem started here. My daughter ordered mashed potatoes, and a pile of rice arrived without a mention. We asked the waiter and he casually said we are out. He should have at least told us and given her another choice, but someone in the kitchen decided for her. She did get an order of fries after we were finished eating, but none of us really needed them at that point. My other daughter and I were not extremely hungry so we shared Fried Calamari and an order of Fried Clams .. both dishes were barely warm. Which makes calamari and clams very rubbery but at that point I just wanted to leave rather than wait another 45 minutes. Obviously the kitchen made the fried items long before the other dishes were ready as both the fish and chicken were hot. The Calamari was appropriate in size for an appetizer, but at $13 there should be enough to share. The fried clam portion was pathetic. So besides being cold and rubbery there was no way this was worth $14 or even $10 .... after giving the Whale a second chance will will advise people to go elsewhere ..$25 for fish that would not feed an infant and not even a cheap bowl of salad included, and $18 for a half of a breast , what a shame to have a cook that can cook chicken and fish well !!

If I could give negative stars I would. Called an order in for take out 50 minutes before closing and they hung up the phone while I was making order and thereafter refused to pickup except to say "too late for a big order" . I hope the owners know. Horrible .

They have a pretty good seafood variety: clams, oysters, shrimp, lobster, crab and more. They have a solid selection of ways to prepare the seafood and the outdoor seating is really nice by the water. I also like their non-seafood options.

Lou at the bar was great. Restaurant was clean. Enjoyable. A bit pricey.

Had dinner at the Whale restaurant. The fish and chips were excellent. The Cod was fresh and the fries were very tasty. Not the usual fries. They were crispy and a thinly cut. Not greasy at all. I would recommend this restaurant. Apparently, the original chef is back and he is to be applauded for t;he fine quality of the food.

The couple before us ordered oysters but complained that they had a bad order and did not want to take a chance eating them. We ordered New England clam chowder but was so salty we could not eat it. There bowl looks like a cup and not worth the cost. Not happy. Last I found a human hair in my wifes sandwich and showed the staff. They offer us desert but we just wanted to leave. Will not return.
