Once you make it to ur room its great. But Saturday check ins are as nightmare... several hours waiting for a clean room. Given a bar voucher $15 for the wait...but it waS much to long. My company brings a group of 70 each year and last year valet lost my keys. Overall a great stay but issues

Poor Customer Service--I made a reservation for Feb 10, 2017 and I received an email with the wrong date...When I called to get it corrected..the rooms were $100 per night more than when I orginally booked. I was livid. I was transferred to customer service to which the girl said "I am sorry " too many times to count but would not honor my original price when booked. Customer service was suppose to call me by Tuesday, no phone call:( I am guessing the rooms are nice and everyone is friendly, but I will never know since I don't have a reservation for the correct date.!! I am in the customer service business myself and I know the importance of making things right. There are a lot more places to stay in Memphis and this one just got dropped from my list.

Find another place to stay in downtown Memphis!

Find another place to stay in downtown Memphis!
I was treating my family to a weekend in Memphis. We decide on The Westin Beale Street for our stay due to it's location. We should've checked their reviews first. We called the hotel to see when our rooms would be ready and were told 3 o'clock. We showed up at 3 o'clock to check in and were told our rooms weren't ready. No big deal. Went back at 4 and was told they still were not ready and that they didn't know how long it would be and gave the impression that they really didn't care. We informed them that we had somewhere to be at 5 and needed to get ready. We were given the impression that it was not their problem but ours. After going through several rude people, the manager, acting like we were bothering her, let us used a restroom on the second floor to change and get ready. (Gee, thanks @ $350 a night). The restroom had no hand towels. After trying to get someone to check our luggage because we had no rooms and had to leave, more rudeness. We had to take our luggage back out to our car. We were told we would be notified when our rooms were ready. At ten o'clock and not having received a notification, we went back to the hotel. After asking, were told yes, our rooms are ready, again rudely. At this point, fed up with the way we had been treated and noticed other people being treated, we decided to stay somewhere else. We went to another downtown hotel and were treated very nicely by people who genuinely appreciated our business. While The Westin usually has a very good reputation, this particular Westin is a stain on the HOSPITALITY industry and on the great city of Memphis. It has been 2 days and they have yet to refund the money for our rooms that we never got.
Again, find another place to stay in downtown Memphis.

Disappointed with overall quality of our stay given the nightly rate to stay. Directly outside our room, the carpet in the hallway was soaking wet and smelled very musty. When I told the associate at the front desk about the problem, she responded they'd take care of it. Upon returning to our room later in the day, we discovered a huge industrial type blower running and it was incredibly loud. The blower was left there running right outside our room all night. We called down to the front desk 2 different times during the night asking for someone to come turn it off so we could get some sleep. NEVER happened. Won't ever stay there again.

Staff 5 stars

Staff 5 stars

Cleanliness 4 stars

Response Time 2 stars - granted after basketball game. I know their busy but need more staff.

Food from room service -5 stars
1. Said would take 40 minutes (took a little over an hour) for 2 chicken sandwiches with fries and a bottle water.
2. My chicken. Sandwich was a little pink on the inside. My wife's was completely pink on the Inside. She took a couple of bites realized it didn't take right.. not to mention she's pregnant.... Raw / under cooked chicken doesnt = good story.. I called down to service and they said we are sorry we will take the charge off for that sandwich. Better hope doesnt hurt my wife or little one. I have enty of pictures but don't know how to include in this post.

Update:
Said they we're going to credit 10,000 points and never did.. Emailed their corporate office, they said someone from Memphis branch would email back and still nothing.. But they did say they wished we could come back and let them make it right... With nothing to offer... NO THANKS!

The location is great if you're in town to check out Beale Street or a Grizzlies game. In typical Westin fashion the rooms are very nice, amenities are top notch, and my stay was great. We were stranded without overnight essentials, but we're provided an amenities kit, including New Balance athletic clothing to workout in ($5 gets you a shirt, shorts, socks & shoes). If I have to stay again I wouldn't hesitate to do it here.

New hotel in the heart of Memphis. It's not technically on Beale St. (FYI) but it is just around the corner. Also a great location for catching a Grizzlies game across the street. Close to the trolley and tons of museums.

Being right next to all of the action is great. Beale Street is to one side. The FedEx Forum is on one side and the other is the Gibson guitar factory. Everyone working was very polite. The shower was the highlight of the room.

The friendly and helpful staff you expect from the Westin brand, but the room itself didn't quite meet that same standard. Our room was dated and seriously in need of an update/remodel. Things you might expect from a hotel in need of a remodel, such as stains on the carpet and numerous, obvious repairs made over the years from wear and tear. The amenities were great and the room was clean, as you'd expect. An extra towel rack/hook in the bathroom would be nice. The shower door leaked onto the floor, and layers of heavy sealant indicated it'd done this before (room 329). The sheets were scratchy, as were the obviously bargain basement tissues and toilet paper. The third floor hallway just outside the elevator smelled like cat urine. I got the room with points but was still charged $155 in fees, not including parking at an additional $18 a night, but overpriced parking seems to be the norm in major metro areas these days. I wouldn't mind staying here again if the location dictated (great location), but Westin seriously needs to consider a remodel.

We stayed for 4 nights in October. The rooms are very nice and the staff is very accommodating and professional. The only complaint about the room is that the sink and toilet seemed to be clogged a lot. The sink took very long to drain and the toilet would fill and fill and then finally drain. The housekeeping staff kept the room very clean and brought us fresh towels as needed. The bar is a bit pricey and the drinks were not very strong but it had a nice atmosphere. We only ate breakfast at the restaurant (Bleu) but the staff there was nice as well. One person I would like to recognize for outstanding service is Carmen in Bleu. She is friendly, attentive and has a great way about her.

My experience this past weekend 3-23-2019 is 1 I will never forget. I had a very horrible experience with checking in and I had the room booked a month out in advance. I had a party of 4 to go to Memphis for the weekend to see the Memphis Grizzles game and have a night of fun. upon arriving to the hotel around 230 pm, there was not a room available to get into at check in time. I called earlier that morning and asked for an early check in since everyone was in separate cars. I was told that we could check in around 12 or 1 pm and I requested 1 pm and was told that was fine, which was not true. We did not get the 1st hotel room until after 7 pm and the basketball game started at 7 pm as well so therefore we were not able to shower and change clothes before going to the game. When we got to the game it was 8 minutes left in the 3rd quarter, keep in mind the tickets were purchased at $90 * 4= $360 since it was 4 people attending.
Upon returning to the hotel after the game, the 2nd room was finally available for check in after 9 pm. SO this weekend was a total waste of MY TIME, MY MONEY and I WILL NEVER stay at the WESTIN Memphis after this horrible experience. And to to[p it off, I only received $100 off each room and still ended up paying $201 for 17 hour check in. I also contacted the Corporate office and rep told me to reach out to the hotel. What's the purpose of having a corporate office if you cannot handle corporate issues???

Pretty nice hotel. Room was clean and comfortable. Located right downtown which is convenient. You can basically walk to where all the activites are. Parking is not so great and pretty pricey if you park in the garage. Overall I enjoyed my stay.

We were in town for 1 night, checked into the hotel. Left briefly for a gas fill up, came back and valet parked the car for the night. Got up the next morning, walked to the Orpheum Theater for a play. We came back to the hotel and loaded up our luggage, as the valet pulled my vehicle up past the door and opened the rear hatch. We then got in the vehicle and headed out of town, never realizing that the valet service had either damaged or allowed my vehicle to be damaged while in their care. When I stopped for food about an hour out of town, I realized the damage to the vehicle and called immediately to inform of the damage. I was told at that time because I had left the property that there was not much that could be done. Funny since the valet service pulled up the vehicle so that I would not walk to the front and be able to see the damage and never told me that there was any damage on my vehicle.

So fast forward a couple of days and I speak to the General Manager Patrick. He assures me that he needs to look further into my claim of damage, but due to it being a holiday weekend that it will be a few days until he can get back to me. I am satisfied with that response and wait.

Fast forward 10! days, I have still heard from no one from the Westin and I call and leave a message for Patrick that I have not heard from anyone. Next day, I call again, Patrick now answers the phone. He says "I am sorry that no one from my staff has not gotten back to you, I need to look into this again, and I will assure you someone will be back to you today."

That was at 8:30 this morning. It is now midnight and I have heard from no one, yet again. I could not recommend the hotel for the reasons of dishonesty, and the inability to follow through on a simple promise that was made, not requested, but made.

Over $1000 later, out of pocket, paid by myself, I am now driving my repaired vehicle and can be assured that I will never stay at another Westin Hotel ever again. And if you choose to stay at the Westin, please self park yourself, because obviously the valet service is not to be trusted to be truthful and the management has chosen to cover for them because they have proven that the customer is not right.

UPDATE FROM THE ABOVE REVIEW:

After some continued discussions, we have come to a satisfactory settlement between myself and Westin. While I will not disclose the settlement, I felt that the discussion and the outcome were very fair and I have been satisfied. I accepted responsibility for having not noticed the damage to the vehicle before leaving the property and they accepted the fact that not all of their camera angles were able to cover my car during the whole visit. The General Manager Patrick, and the Valet Manager Tyler called me, asked me to send over my invoices for review, and then promptly called me back the following day with a proposal that I was willing to accept. I would like to thank them both for keeping an open mind and to trust in my integrity that was dealing honestly and with no malice or deception.

Don't stay here if you are a light sleeper. The noise from Beal street started at 10 and was over about 2. We were on the 7th floor and it was really loud. We stayed 2 nights and couldn't wait to get home. I would only stay if you are planning on going to beal street and closing the place down otherwise you won't get any sleep. I WOULD NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN!

Awful. The rooms were hot! Air conditioning barely works. They sent a maintenance man to our room to pretend to fix it and eventually moved us to another HOT room. It was miserable. I got zero sleep. Not only that but I had to ask the front desk 3 different times to send up an item from my car and never received it. I will never stay here ever again!!

I can't say much about the hotel, since we weren't there long, but I can say something GREAT ABOUT THE HOUSEKEEPING SUPERVISOR, I GUESS THAT WAS HER POSITION. I was packing up to leave, it was so quiet that you could hear a pin drop. She was training a new housekeeper. Not bossing her her around, but showing how to get perks and move up to a better position and her experience with the company... I am telling you, it was heartwrenching story and I went out to the hallway and told her that if there were any way I could bring her back, I would, she's such an asset to the company and I will make sure that they know!

Beale Street was so fun! They had so many gift shops and bars, people dancing in the street, loud music. There's one thing you absolutely HAVE to get if you go there. That's the gumbo. Literally, that is where you'll get the best gumbo. Even if you don't like gumbo, I advise that you try it, because it's amazing.

Right bang at historic Beale Street. The hotel and rooms are well done but it feels older (keep in mind it wasnt renovated recently). Has all the facilities like other Westins. Close by parking and valet really expensive.

Room was nice. Elevator was broken first two days and made awful noises all the time that could be heard from room. Room keys stopped working for no apparent reason and so we had to get new ones. Also WiFi isn't included despite rooms being pretty expensive. I'd pass on this hotel.

Weston is at a central location. It has great services but it is quite expensive. I was at the hotel to attend a conference organized by my workplace. The food and snack breaks they provided were great - not so much vegetarian friendly but they prepared special veggie plates on request. Overall a good experience. Rates could be more reasonable.

Bad service. Check in was supposedly guaranteed at 3pm but fit there at 5pm and our room wasn't ready. We were told we'd have a half hour wait. After an hour, they finally come to check us in, and they refused to give us the rate they booked us for over the phone. They told my boyfriend it was only for residents of certain states. Their customer service rep was the one that offered the rate knowing where we were residents seeing as though we had to give our address. After all of that, they tried to charge my boyfriend's card another $700 for 2 nights after they were holding $429 on his card already without even telling him. Luckily, the charge didn't go through and they came to tell us. He asked if I still wanted to stay. I was like hell no. We left and stayed at The Marriott which wasn't much better but I was extremely disappointed in the customer service we received. The most courteous person there was the bartender while we waited the hour for our room to be ready.

I was told that I was getting a 1 bedroom larger suite and I get to my room and it s the size of a normal room. I am a titanium elite and stayed numerous places and surprised and disappointed because the the confirmation from the hotel was clearly mischaracterized. Aug 30th - Dirty Dirty Dirty! Could not believe this was a Westin. Carpet was stained (large stains in numerous places) as well as the lamp shades, the matress, the bedding and all the furniture looked worn and scratched. The bathroom floor and shower area needed a good scrubbing to clean the mold/mildewy grout. I had been traveling for over 12 hours and had been exited to finally get some rest. After checking in and seeing the room in its condition, I immediately checked out and went 2 more hours down the road. Sad. Beale Street may be full of drunken party goers but even they deserve a clean room! And for those of us just passing through and expecting the usual Westin brand standard...DONT STAY HERE!

Was given the key to the wrong room. Other guests entered the room when I was in the bathroom - this is how we figured out it was their room. Went back down to the front desk and was barely apologized to and spoke with a manager who did nothing. Had I been in the shower or changing this could have been even worse. Extremely dissapointed with the lack of customer service, will not be staying at a Westin again.
