The Washington Center for the Performing Arts is the crowning jewel in Southwest Washington's cultural scene. This location was originally a "vaudeville house" back when built back in 1924, later going through a couple of significant remodels until it's current design, which completed in 1985. This incredible jewel, situated in the center of downtown Olympia, is genuinely worth visiting to see your favorite musicians, dance troupes, Broadway shows, and more. I hope you enjoy it as much as my family and I do!

A great performance center with helpful, mostly volunteer staff. I've been to several events here and I've never been disappointed.

Be aware that there's no way to avoid stairs to loge level seating if accessibility is an issue for you.

Drinks are served at intermission, but they used to not be allowed in the venue. The Center has solved that now by making a reusable "adult supply cup" available. Ingenious!

Horrible performance center. Gets the worst shows you can imagine and gives very limited information regarding what the show actually is. Box office is also a pain to deal with, and isn't reliably open two hours before a show as they say. If you expect to ask the box office a question before your show odds are you won't be able to.

Went for the Nutcracker great, fantastic performance.
Concession was horrid, no organization, no one knew they were in a line. The ladies behind the counter were great, but needs organization. Too many people it was simply a see of people

Comedy in the Box was great fun. Nice venue. Black Box portion of the Center is not fancy at all, but it was functional and clean. The staff were absolutely top notch--so friend, patient and helpful. We'll definitely be spending more time at the Center.

I volunteered with 2 elementary schools who took their collective 1st grade classes for a field trip & to watch a play entitled "Flight School"!
Being Abt % first time viewers, they did such an incredible job being lil people!! The Awe in their eyes & their overall experience of theater was irreplaceable! About an hour into the show & closely approaching the end, you could feel the energy like the "wave" at a sporting event...all getting the wiggles!!
Arrive early enough to travel through slightly congested & tight traffic. The parking meters can be fed quarters or Card...I believe a $25.00 parking ticket will be issued 4 failing to adhere to your time.
Staff & Regular volunteers were wonderful!! There was only 1 fine wine matured encounter for "me" I found to be a little snooty if you will. With smell, swirl, taste, & then spit, so no biggie at all. "Okay, smile, & keep moving" works wonders!

The theater was orderly, well maintained, well lit, well equipped & the bathrooms were great.

Our performers & materials presented were relevant, funny, & engaging from the beginning to questions & good byes @ the end. Good message for children to take away with them as well!

Awesome small venue (less than 1000 seats) living here in Olympia, I've seen quite a few acts here.. they have a wine and beer bar, along with mixed hard alchohol drinks
..very well priced.. mostly staffed with volunteers, so the staff are all super helpful and willing to please..
Great acoustics too!
