What a fantastic walk through the history and memory lane of one of the world's most sought after entertainer and his family, and the legacy created out of the world's biggest entertaining company!
Amazing!! We really had no idea how extensive this museum would be, but it was the highlight of our trip to San Francisco. Everything is laid out so beautifully and creatively, but the content is extremely engaging. If you are even 10% into Disney related anything, make sure you give yourself enough time. I foolishly booked the 3:20pm tickets on a day it closed at 5 and this was not enough time! There are upwards of 15 rooms and a really cool gift shop and a cafe when not in COVID. We will be back!
Very informative look at the life of Walt Disney! Learned a lot. Give yourself at least 1.5-2 hours to properly cover the main exhibit
The Walt Disney Family Museum is a well put together exhibit of the history of both Walt Disney and to a lesser extent the company that bears his name. It s broken out chronologically (for the most part) and for even the casual Disney fan, it s unlikely that there will be much that you haven t heard before. There are many more items than expected that are reproductions - but most won t notice unless you read the tags closely. It s a bit pricey for what you see and the amount of time it takes to go through. 90 minutes felt like more than enough time. The folks working there are very helpful and nice and parking in the area is somewhat easy compared to other parts of the city. It s important to remember it s not an official museum - and if you look at it like a well put together fan museum you will probably enjoy it more.
Disney fans and history buffs will enjoy the Walt Disney Family Museum. Here you will learn about the life of Walt and how Disney became what we know today; from the man himself to the movies, theme parks and the magic he created in between. The Disneyland diorama was Walt's dream idea of the park, the photos do not show the details on this amazing piece. Great place for a family day trip plus the backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge is beautiful. There's also a gift shop at the end of the museum.
This is a must for any Disney fans out there. It s owned by the family from my understanding with so many exhibits just about Walt Disney himself and his life. Honestly you need 3-4 hours just to really take in everything there. Parking is easy and beautiful views of the Golden Gate Bridge as well.
This was a great museum. It was a full detailed look at Walt's life. It really puts everything into perspective. Where he came from to where he ended up by the end of the museum I had tears in my eyes. I would highly recommend to anyone.
Museum is great! Has a lot of history behind the Disney Family, older Disney movies/characters and some history behind the original layout of Disneyland, not so much on present day Disneyland or any current Disney movies/characters. Gift shop is cool too, a great selection of keychains and children's books. Definitely wouldn't recommend bringing young ones because it isn't interactive at all, and it can be boring at times.
I have no idea why this isn t in various to do lists for San Francisco. This is a real gem. Very well done. Really tells the story of Walt and his greatest creations. Highly recommended.
