I had a gentleman call me, Brian Cain, a rep from the staffing exchange in Victoria BC, he said there were several positions he had on file and with my experience, my resume and assessment on file, he'd make arrangement to put together a couple of packages from interested clients. I put a couple of the opportunities I had on the table, on hold. He asked for 24 hours to put these together, not a word after 48 hours. I emailed Brian, he replied 1 full day later with an apology, saying I was out of the office. I said no problem, but I've got things on hold on my end, how much more time do you require? His reply was, I'm calling the woman with 3 shops, who asked about me in the 1st place, right now! I have have heard nothing from him in over a week.
I have moved forward with my search of the right shop management position that fits my needs, and let him know how disappointing his sudden disappearance was and how unprofessional it is to keep career minded people waiting without a word, and he approached me, I had never asked him for assistance. If this is how the staffing exchange operates in general, I'd look elsewhere. Of course it may not represent all agents of this company, but keep your options open.
