We had our wedding reception at The Spread Eagle in September and I would thoroughly recommend them as a venue. We brought our wedding forward by 9 weeks due to Covid-19 with only 3 days notice and Sarah and the team pulled out all the stops to ensure it was a beautiful day. The food was incredible (such big portions!), the wine delicious and the hotel as a backdrop was simply stunning - from the restaurant to The Jacobean Hall and not to mention the Queens Suite where we stayed. The support we received from Sarah, the General Manager, was amazing and we can t thank her enough for helping us with our big day. This place is a hidden gem and if you re looking for a historic venue with a homely atmosphere and friendly personal service then book your wedding here as you won t be disappointed!

Spread eagle hotel is a charming old hotel that has retained it's beautiful old features. Plenty of parking.
I enjoyed a spa day with 2 course lunch and a fabulous local sparkling wine.
The food was very good and we enjoyed the casual relaxed environment within the conservatory where we were able to lunch in our robes.
Treatments were great and the water matress on the massage beds an unexpected luxury.
The spa itself is very small and can get quite busy. It needs some TLC as there is quite a bit of damp and mould .
Would def recommend this hotel. Beautiful location with lots on your doorstep.

The hotel was superb, the look, the feel and the feature room a dream come true. The spa exceptional but what let this hotel down was the service, which is so important. Had to wait for drink service and 99% of the time looking for someone to serve us. The last night the young girl working, made us feel that we had disturbed her and she did not want us there!!! Waited and waited to get served, so decided to just go to bed!!!

Their left hand does not know what it right is doing. They were very unlucky in having on person who worked for Rolls Royce who did meet the VIPs of the world. and someone who worked for Hewlett-Packard when Dave Packard was still at the controls. Before it became a consumer electronics company and the most returned vendor at PC World..

Getting people to sing from tge same hymn sheet is not that difficult If you train peope read music or realiss people have to know when you are forced to move the goal posts. Mangers nevrr pay staff enough to expect clairvoyance

We have recently just stayed at this hotel for an early birthday break. The staff were so attentive and lovely. They also upgraded us as we had to change the booking last minute due to the virus and change in tiers. Food was outstanding and really enjoyed all of the spa facilities. Also had an amazing back neck and shoulder massage.would definitely come back.

We have just spent 2 nights here and had a wonderful time. We have been before and the hotel never fails to impress. After such a rubbish year it was lovely to get away and have a child free weekend. Everything was perfect, the blue room and all other parts of the hotel were spotless at all times. The food and service were consistently excellent throughout our stay. I would like to thank Horace and Poppy for going above and beyond to make sure our stay was as good as it could have been. We can t wait to return sometime next year. Thanks very much

Gloriously old-fashioned restaurant in this famous Hotel. We stopped for lunch, which was very well prepared and served with a flourish. There was no set lunch on offer, so the final bill was probably quite a bit more than it would otherwise have been. Service faultless on a Sunday.

My family and I spent 3 nights in this beautiful cosy hotel, very nicely decorated for Christmas. It looked magical.
Quiet and spotless clean. Spacious bedrooms with comfy beds and high quality amenities. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. The staff are really polite and friendly, they go above and beyond for their guests. The spa facilities are amazing.
We'll definitely come back in the future. We recommend this hotel 100%, you won't be disappointed.
