We scheduled an appointment to go see a dog. They were super helpful, excellent and knowledgeable staff. Adoption process was fast, got to spend a lot of time with the dog first and fell in love. Now she is a part of our family
Went to SPCA to adopt kitten named Poppy into our family and so happy to welcome her to her new home .

We recently found one of our Hummingbirds that had been injured and was in dire need of medical attention. One call to the Monterey County SPCA wildlife rescue and we were able to bring her in for the help she needed. The kind people at the MCSPCA were very professional, compassionate and comforting for the Hummingbird and Myself. Thank you so much to All the people and All the hard work they do to Protect and Preserve the Animal Population.
I took my two male kittens in to be spayed
at SPCA clinic in Salinas. I was instructed
to have my kittens there between 7:30 and
8:00, which I did. I was told that staff would
call me to pick-up kittens by 3:30 because
staff wanted to leave by 4:00. Because I
live in Pacific Grove, I came back to Salinas
to wait. I waited until 4:00. Staff called and
said kittens wouldn t be ready to 4:30. This
means that my precious kittens had sat
In their carriers for most of the day. This is
NOT humane treatment. The clinic certainly
seemed to have plenty of staff members
working today. Why I couldn t make an
appointment for a specific time for my
kittens to be spayed is beyond me. For
an organization that touts itself for
preventing cruelty to animals, this is shocking
and really unacceptable. Perhaps the
SPCA should spend some of the millions of
dollars of donations on making a better
organized and efficient system for its
animal patients and their owners!
The shelter was clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. They take the health and safety of the animals very serious. Found out that military gets one free adoption per year. Brought home two very happy healthy baby cats.
Great volunteers and plenty of amazing animals to choose from especially if ur a cat person
We've adopted a dog, and 2 guinea pigs. We had our older dog put to sleep there. They were very nice and let us spend a little time with him after to say our goodbyes.
