It offers the space away from the addiction environment, oppertunity to examine your destructive behaviours, gain insight into family disfunction and plan for the future
If you have the option take it, your addiction is hurting you

The Rutland centre is excllent. Escpecially BiritishMary it's like she can read your mind.they have great follow ups like relapse prevention and aftercare. If you want to be clean go here bityou have to do a lot of work yourself.

Things they claim to offer:
1. Clinical assessment - once off
2. Individualised treatment planning - this doesn't happen
3. Group 'therapy' - yes, though essentially the same as the chat you get at AA/NA etc.
4. Lectures - never
5. Workshops - never
6. 1:1 counselling - by semi-trained individuals
7. Family counselling - only if you ask
You'd be better off going to the free addiction group of your need and paying privately for a personal therapist.
