The 3 pork plate was amazing. The burger was cooked to perfection. The brussel sprouts were awesome. The local selection of beer was great. Service was prompt, polite, professional, warm and inviting. Atmosphere is cozy. Thanks for a warm welcome to Cambridge.

Russell House has become a go-to for me whenever I m in Cambridge. Deftly executed, slightly elevated comfort food at what are actually (and I hesitate to let the secret out) VERY reasonable prices. Creative cocktails, fresh raw bar, good beer list, and a house burger (Tip: substitute a salad for the fries or they ll even split it half and half of you don t feel like being all the way healthy). And they are open late!

Definitely try the lemonade! Never had a ginger lemonade before and I would definitely go back for one. Also had the lavender lemonade which was super refreshing.

The service was excellent - Katie was so friendly and accommodating for our pup. We enjoyed talking to her.

The calamari was spicy but refreshing. Grilled peach was also a great summer plate with ample prosciutto!

Russell House Tavern located just minutes within walking distance from Harvard Square Cambridge. This place is popular among the students and visitors of Harvard University. I came here for lunch after touring Harvard University in the morning. This is an upscale American fare restaurant with its own signature burger, craft cocktails and beers. The restaurant also have a nice patio seating. Their signature Russell House burger with 8oz. Brandt farms ground beef, skillet English muffin, sharp cheddar, bacon and caramelized onion were fabulous. The fries comes with this dish were very good as well. I also ordered their soup of the day which was carrot soup. The soup were excellent as well. It contains so much lard in the soup and taste very good - but unhealthy.

This place is fantastic. Food is great. Alcohol selection is also pretty good. The staff is very friendly. My one problem is that the prices for drinks are a little overpriced. Overall, 4.5 out of 5.

Salt. Salt on everything, even things that perhaps shouldn't be salted. If you're into crunching through big grains of sea salt on a garden salad which has already been coated in high salinity dressing this place is for you. It is beautiful inside though.

We stopped here after spending the day walking the Freedom Trail. The place was much larger than it initially appeared. We shared an order of the Deviled Eggs, which were the standout dish for our visit.

My companion ordered a Tuna Sandwich and I had a Burger. Everything was good just nothing really exceptional.

While the food and service were all good - there was just something missing, which is why I can only give this a four star rating.

Our firm held our holiday party at a private space in Harvest, we also had use of an outdoor heated patio area. The private space was great for a group of 45+. We were able to fully enjoy ourselves and feel like we were in our own private area. Great all around.

Just went in on a busy Saturday and sat at the upstairs bar for drinks with friends. Friendly staff, lively, and on nice days they open up the windows, offering great people watching. The patio at the entrance also looked nice. Not sure about the food, but the drink selection was top notch!

Great spot for lunch and a drink. The lunch menu has excellent pizzas and sandwiches for really good prices, given the high quality. Great cocktails and beer selection. Service is generally good. Try the tuna BLT or the cape cod pizza!

Food here was great. Perfect serving size for a meal. The drinks were amazing and diverse. I've never had drinks like this before. On top of us having great food and great drinks, our server was phenomenal. She was the best we had during our stay in Boston.

Very good cocktails! Food is just okay. Service is good.
Ordered eggs benny and southern chicken sandwich. Hollandaise sauce didn't have much flavor, sausage was bland and house potatoes were a bit under done.

Chicken sandwich was pretty nice!

They were able to accommodate a beef allergy and substitute the sausage with smoked salmon ...But didn't tell us about the upcharge... 3$ extra... No biggie... But it would be nice to know before hand.

Overall nothing great to say and the food. Would go back for the drinks not for the food. If it wasn't for the cocktails this review would be a 3 star.

A great place with lots of atmosphere. Tailored more towards diners than drinkers, we ate here and the food was good. The usual tavern fayre with the addition of a raw Susi bar. They made a mistake with our order which was quickly rectified and have us free desserts for the small amount of inconvenience that we had. A good place for a meal in the Harvard area.

Would have given 6 stars if there was an option! Totally loved the steak and the chicken sandwich! Be sure to get a reservation as the place is usually busy. Would definitely visit again and recommend anyone in the area to try their food and service.

Very slow service for a late Sunday night dinner. Waited almost an hour and our food came out before our appetizer and one of the entrees was wrong. The food was decent but not the best. They were cleaned out of all stouts which to be fair is kind of expected the day after Paddy's day. Our server took our appetizer and one of the entrees off but still the experience was soured by the slow inattentive service.

Met a friend here for Sunday brunch. We were seated at the downstairs bar. Fair price foe the excellent ambiance & attentive service, and fancy food. Breakfast pizza was delicious; the stuffed french toast was just alright. Will be back again.

Sat at the bar. Had oysters, steak tartar and a burger. Great service, good atmosphere (even though its downstairs and dark) and good food. I came by myself and the bartenders were friendly and cool. Seems like a hotspot for the Harvard crowd and their parents

upper scale dining and drinks in the heart of Harvard Square. This place has been around forever and has an outdoor seating area in the summer months. The upstairs is small but they have a fairly large downstairs bar and dining area and can accommodate larger parties. The food is very good as are the drinks and the menu has a number of vegetarian options.

Busy, center of Harvard Square eatery with interesting gourmet-ish menu. Expect to spend st least $ 65+ for two for dinner, likely more. Do try something from the cocktail options if so inclined. Our table service was professional and excellent, worth the $20 tip on $90+ tab. Tuna tartare was well prepared; other dishes rated "really good" by my guest. Don't drive here! Take the red line to Harvard Square. Expect waiting time for a table during peak dinner time weekends.

Came here for dinner with a friend. Ambiance was nice (we were seated outside and enjoyed the nice weather) and good food, but slightly poor service. The waiter put in our order without confirming it with us (he had listened in on our conversation and went ahead with it). Unfortunately it wasn't what we had wanted to order, and when we asked he seemed miffed so we went with what had already been put in.

The food itself (leek and mushroom pizza) was delicious, with a nice thin crust and flavorful toppings. My past visits to RHT have been great experiences, so this is most likely just an outlier, and I would recommend dropping by for either after-work/class dinner and drinks.

What a find! I was in the area visiting the Harvard Book Store and I stopped in for a drink and something to eat. We had the charcuterie board, the mussels, and the pork belly sandwich. Everything was great. The bar staff was super knowledgeable, we told them what we liked and their recommendations were perfect. This place is worth checking out.

Went here for the late night $1 oysters. There are partitions between all the tables which made it feel kinda confined especially at a two top. Didn't really care for the cocktails we had, but the oysters were delicious large and briny. I would come back to try the pizza because it looked delicious.

If you're looking for a culturally and socially diverse atmosphere at a classy place, serving the finest beers, cocktails and food with top-level customer service provided by highly trained & knowledgeable staff then this is the place for you. If not, try the local dive bar. This place is a hidden gem within The Square!

Really nice atmosphere- you can get either the patio, the regular seating area or the downstairs bar area. I highly recommend the downstairs area. It really has speakeasy kind of vibe. Won t lie- it is pricy for a drink, but you get what you pay for.

Came here for dinner with my girlfriend who has a wheat allergy. We needed some Gluten Free options for dinner, and were frustrated after unsuccessful findings at other local places. We were met by Brian at the host stand who was *absolutely phenomenal* at attending to our needs. Not only did he know the menu well, he was able to offer us options and when we decided to stay, found us a nice table in the corner of the downstairs seating area. We stayed for quite a while and he checked back on us a handful of times to ensure we were having a nice time. The menu unfortunately isn't as friendly as we had hoped for, but we made it work. Suggestions to management: promote Brian, and please find some GF pizza dough and GF breadcrumbs... having the calamari and pizzas available as gluten friendly options would make Russell House an absolute favorite on our Cambridge restaurant list!

Russell House Tavern took the burger and messed with convention. The R. House Grass Fed Burger comes on an English muffin. Between that muffin lies 8 ounces of Maine Family Farms ground beef, sharp cheddar, bacon, and caramelized onions. This melty creation is juicy and has an excellent blend of flavors. The aioli on top paired with the ketchup and caramelized onion makes a combination of creamy, salty, and savory that will wow your taste buds. The English Muffin holds the entire package together and soaked up the juices. This is a premium bar burger that took a gamble that paid off big. It's a bit like a breakfast sandwich on steroids (and that's a good thing in this case).

One would never think this 9 year old establishment was such a gem unless you knew it was there. Upstairs the place is basically a bar BUT downstairs the place is a beautifully comfortable restaurant even though it is below street level and has no windows to the outside. The ambiance is crowded but not uncomfortable. Food and service is excellent and genuine. Just steps from the middle of Harvard Square. Well worth seeking out.

Visited 10/10 - Saturday night. Arrived 8 pm & the place was hopping. Put name in for 2 and headed to the less crowded bar upstairs. Scored seats in minutes. Hostess found us in 30 minutes as promised for our table but we decided to stay at bar. The bartender was attentive and helpful will our choices. The Cesar and Beet salads were fresh and delicious. 5 way Pork Dish and hamburger the same plus filling. The A plan was two salads and share the 5 way Pork. When we finished the Pork we wanted more and ordered the hamburger with fries. This entree arrive on 2 plates ready to share without asking. Well done! With a bottle of wine the tab was $100 -which is a great value all things considered: location, atmosphere, food, and service. Look forward to going back.

Great for a late night in Harvard Square. I love the atmosphere of the bar downstairs away from the Square craziness. We came for some cocktails and to try the crisp poached egg we heard was amazing. I loved my St. Germain cocktail and loved the idea that it came in pitcher (Next time!). The crispy poached egg was different than I expected but delicious nonetheless. They have a great raw bar menu and appetizers. Their cocktail list is extensive and I look forward to trying something different next time. I probably won't recommend coming here for dinner, the prices were steep and the food quality didn't seem to match but I'd definitely recommend this place for drinks.

We sat downstairs at the bar and it was beautiful. If I could afford to eat out everyday I might do it here (if I also wasn't the type of person who always wants to go somewhere new).

Staff were friendly and told us which menu items were new as it had just changed for winter the week prior.

He did say, that the alwayssunny would always be on the menu though. I had already ordered it and was loving it when I could see why. And so pretty too.

I just got an appetizer because we were going to a Yelp Elite event after and we didn't want to go starving so I got the deviled eggs because of the olive tapenade (which I've been in love with recently). Little did I know we'd have deviled eggs at the event, so in all that day I ate about 4 whole eggs. Oh well. Protein! (?) They were delicious though! My friend got a burger in and fries and I was sticking the fries in the leftover tapenade (couldn't get it all on the eggs) but they also had pesto on top along with fried shallots. Perfect. The fries on their own were really good too, but the mayo that came with them was great as well.
