Second fantastic exhibition of the year at the RWA
Thoroughly enjoying the drawing class & seeing the exhibition
Lovely free exhibitions and cafe. Also some world class paid exhibitions throughout the year
We went to see the women in art exhibition, really enjoyable.
I enjoyed the space, and its current exhibitions. The staff were also lovely.
Always worth looking at the autumn exhibition. Gives one food for thought. There will some you don't like but also some you will.
Lovely building and thoughtfully designed art installations
In the footsteps of the Royal Academy, London - very avant guard! D.
Well worth a visit and a great way to start a Sunday visit to Bristol
Free entry if you have a nus card, currently an amazing exhibition about collaboration between artists with some rarely exhibited pieces.
You don't want to miss the current exhibitions if you're a fan of modern art
Good excellent service. Well laid out and maintained galleries. Helpful staff.
Always a treat. Such a beautiful space full of fascinating and individual works of art.
Well worth a visit if you are in the area, make sure you have plenty of time though to enjoy, lovely building as well.
I visit this place often. They put on regular exhibitions of contemporary art, historic works and retrospectives. I can recommend the current Togetherness and In Partnership exhibitions, particularly Barbara Hepworth's piece and Laura Knight's paintings. There is also a retrospective exhibition by local artist, Robert Hurdle which I can highly recommend. I love his views of Bristol waterways. They also offer training through the nearby drawing school.
Wonderful art space with interesting exhibitions. A lovely building, too. Definitely worth a visit if you see an exhibition that takes your interest.
Booked a "day" drawing course here. It was quite nice- the class was small, the tools provided, and the tutor very nice and respectful, allowing us time to try out his suggestions and to reflect on our attempts. It was very enjoyable to see the other people's work and to draw them.
One thing that would prevent me from going again is the cost- for the price tag, I was expecting a bit more tuition above quite generic recommendations.
A fantastic show about the 250th anniversary of the circus. Containing 50 years of photography by Peter Lavery. #circus50
I adore small and cozy Bristol, old buildings and modern ones are adjacent to each other, a beautiful gallery is not very large but very cozy and a lot of impressions remained in my memory.
Have been in Bristol for a while and luckily someone recommended visiting! The current exhibitions are worth the visit and all staff are incredibly helpful providing useful information. And no better way to finish the visit than having a nice coffee in the charming cafe.
Well presented gallery in a nice building but too expensive if you have to pay full price.
A great place to see all types of art and they frequently have lots of excellent exhibitions.
Expensive for what it is, which is a two room gallery.
One of the oldest building in Bristol. very nice example of Architect
Beautiful building which always shows top notch exhibitions.
Went here recently and loved it! Its free for UWE and UoB students, plus the art inside is really inspiring. As far as I know, they have three gallery spaces upstrairs and one downstairs. Plently of art for a relaxing evening!
Lovely gallery, on a very human scale! Two good exhibitions, including etching, painting and drawing Bristol by local artist and teacher, and In Pairs, a fine exhibition of nine couples who helped shape British modern art. What an absolute treat to see these little gems side by side and alongside other contemporary artists.! A lovely way to spend a couple of cool hours on a scorching Saturday morning!
There are several galleries and exhibitions going on. The second floor is usually thematic. When I went, there s an exhibition about African art, renewal and refugee. There are works of Monet, Pissarro, Heartfield etc. Downstairs there s a gallery on Brexit and illustrations of Brexit for children s books. The admission is free for students. There s also an academician gallery. Definitely worth a visit. Since the exhibition changes, it may be worth it to get a membership at the RWA.
The annual exhibition is full of interesting work. I suggest taking three hours: one to look at all the work but not in detail; one to enjoy the cafe with its well thought out menu; one to look at selected works in details.
Good permanent collection principally from the Renaissance.
Quite educative (natural history and other exhibits).
Worth it a visit.
Autumn evening photo of Bristol Landmark at the beginning of Whiteladies Rd
Fantastic space, great exhibition and brilliant staff.
Apparently, this is Bristol's oldest gallery and certainly one of its most beautiful.
An excellent space and I thoroughly enjoyed the show I saw there.
