We always stop in and Boulder when visiting campus for Imagine RIT. If we lived a bit closer, I think we'd join. The student staff are friendly and kind and the gyms additions of the basement bouldering gym, which wasn't there when we started visiting, is our favorite place for challenges. The overhangs and grips are awesome! My teens love to go and try to out do each other and their friends. It's rather comical watching. We usually spend too much time here, and then realize all the wonderful other things we will miss due to the time spent at the Barn.

Phenomenal two-level bouldering gym for adults. Prices are unbeatable, staff are friendly, and there are plenty of routes for all skill levels.

It may be relevant to some to mention that there is no top rope and no non-student minors are allowed inside.

A consistent place to relax and climb, with fresh sets twice a week. Friendly staff and new color coordinated hold sets give a great bouldering experience. Sadly RIT insists the barn it's built in, stay "historical", so that means no real heating, ac, or plumbing (port-a-potty in the parking lot). Dress accordingly.

Nice medium sized bouldering gym. Reasonably priced for both RIT students and non-students. Shoes and chalk available for rent if you're new to climbing. No AC or Heat so it can get quite uncomfortable in extreme temperatures.

Visited the Red Barn as a club trip from Genesee Community College. Hadn't been rock climbing in a while so I realized are about a half hour that my arms and fingers were missing the strength they need to boulder.

This facility is setup for bouldering not the typical up the wall with harness climbing. Bouldering is a bit more difficult in it's own right. But still a fun thing to do especially on a regular basis.

For a college campus climing gym, this place is pretty rad. Fun wall both upstairs and downstairs, with decent pricing for non-students. Would have given a 5 star review, but going to climb in the winter showed me that it becomes FREEZING cold inside (the addition of heating is clearly necessary). Otherwise, awesome establishment with a good range of difficulty and kind, supportive crowd!

The red barn is probably the best bouldering gym around the northeast part of the United states. I have been climbing there for over four years and love it. The staff reset a section of the barn every week, so there are always new routes to climb! Plus it's much less expensive than other gyms. There's no ropes or belaying however, so don't come here for that!

They got decent looking, colorful rocks adorning the walls and a musky smell that resonates within the establishment. The employee bathroom downstairs even has a bidet, would recommend!

My favorite bouldering gym! They don t do harness/rope climbing here anymore. But that s even better in my opinion. Keeps the prices down. Only $6 for a day pass! $3 for shoe rental! There are heaters but in the winter it gets cold so dress warm. They also have a downstairs which stays warmer.

Best bouldering gym in the area, by far. Great climbing community and unbeatable prices. New routes and geometry are installed regularly. Downside is that it is an old barn: no air conditioning and limiting heating. Still my favorite place to climb.

Best bouldering in Rochester for adults. They are constantly updating the problems, and are responsive to any issues that may arise. Low cost entrance and rentals, but be warned they're low on facilities (no indoor bathroom, minimal heating, and no running water). 18 and older, only.

The best, and only place to Climb in the greater Rochester area. They have lots of clearly marked problems for beginners and advanced climbers. Only available for 18+ and during school operating semesters. Best boulders in upstate! Check their facebook before you go, or give 'em a call!

The building is amazing, and old dairy barn over a 100 years old. The gym looks well used but a good comprehensive bouldering gym that seems to serve a lot of college students well. My son is a freshman at RIT, im sure he will get a lot of use out of it.
