We met Pat at the front desk. My wife and I loved her! She was helpful in understanding the membership levels for mansion tours. Additionally, the staff at the mansions were friendly and my understanding of their work gave me an appreciation of their efforts since the 60's.

Beautiful mansions. We went with our baby and were surprised to find that they don't allow strollers, but after experiencing the mansions, we totally understand why - these are old houses that don't have elevators and have stairs all over the place with some stairs steep and made of slippery stone. The last thing the historical society wants is a lawsuit should a parent/child slip on those slippery stairs.

What an Awesome Experience we had on our annual anniversary trip to the Newport Mansions!!! We Love each and every one of them and APPRECIATE the work the Society does to maintain them. The guided tours are Top Notch and highly recommended when you visit. Each tour guide is So into your experience and they are passionate in what they do. One in particular is Raymond he is the Absolute Best, there is no wonder why he does the training!!! Was So fortunate to get him on a tour last year as the guide for what I thought was going to be a boring tour of a house I cared nothing about, afterwards it became one of my Favorites because of his knowledge and passion! On our return this year he as well as others recognized and welcomed us Wow really impressive as to the 1000 s of guests they meet each year. Just wanted to say Thanks again for all you do looking So Forward to next visit!!!

While ordering soups and salts and other items from the society, we figured it was a nice way to support the society.
The first package was lost in the mail.
The second package was a box full of broken glass and damaged goods. No packing care at all. Just put in the box with some paper on top. No care at all. What a disappointment.

The mansions are beautiful and the history of each one is great to listen to as you walk through the mansions HOWEVER, I was extremely disappointed (and disgusted) that the headphones were not wiped down once handed back to staff. The sanitizer was sitting right there when returning your headsets but not once did I see any of the staff wipe one down...in any of the mansions. With everything going around nowadays, it is SO important to try to be as sanitary as possible, especially with that many people coming through in just one day. I understand that wiping each one down would be time consuming but there are inexpensive, *disposable* foam covers that can go over the ear piece. Shoot, I would even buy a pair if you sold them in the front before walking in.
To the visitors...If cleanliness is important to you, my advice would be to bring your own headset!!
Just my .2 cents.
