I love The Pines and have lived here 8 months. The employees are kind and helpful. Residents are friendly. There are many activities, exercise classes and outings. Our shuttle bus goes around Whiting a few times each week day. You can also go to doctors. I am so happy I found this community.
Full disclosure, I have been an employee here since 2004. From the moment I walked in the door to fill out the application, I felt a very warm and family-like atmosphere. Now, many years later, I can say that it is indeed like that! Employees know all the residents by name, the CEO has an open door policy and is always involved with the residents, residents that have moved through the continuum of care are well taken care of. I enjoy getting to know the families of the residents and coming to work is a pleasure when you have residents like the ones here!
My grandparents lived here for 10+ years (mostly lived in independent living). They were very happy there and my family always felt happy and secure with the help the received. My grandpa passed away 2 years ago and my Grandma earlier this year. About 4 months after her passing, I received a small package in the mail. Inside were pictures I had sent my Grandma of her new great grandchild throughout the year, also enclosed was a note from a social worker, saying they had found these hidden in her old room. It brought tears to my eyes not only seeing these pictures, but after 4 months of her passing, a social worker still went the extra step of mailing them back to me instead of just tossing them out. That is the kind of person that truly cares about their job. I don't think I ever met someone that worked there, that was just there for a paycheck. I would 100% recommend The Pines as a place to live.
Working at The Pines has been one of the greatest experiences ever! I enjoy coming into work everyday and seeing all the residents who treat me and my fellow coworkers so well. Working as a server at The Pines is so rewarding seeing the residents smile after a great meal. Nothing but great things to say about The Pines At Whiting!
I have resided at the Pines for the past 13 months, and life couldn't be better. The staff are wonderful, always ready and willing to help. Fellow residents, also great. We are one big happy family. Food good, great variety, and three different dining rooms of your choosing. Amenities galore, more than you can ask for. Beauty salon, exercise classes, and equipment in the fitness center. Brain games, trivia, etc. Seated volleyball, bocce, shuffleboard, Wii bowling, and classes in flower making, jewelry making, and art, weekly entertainment, and movies. Almost forgot, bible study classes twice a week, and weekly Vespers every Sunday. God's help is everywhere. Need help? Our chaplain is always here to give us support. We are truly blessed here at the Pines. Needless to say, I couldn't be happier. Come and join the good life. At least pay us a visit, you might decide to stay.
The pines is a great place to work, you make amazing relationships with your coworkers and the residents as well! They have many activities for the residents to throughout the week. Another amazing thing is seeing how well everyone works
This is a great place to live. No snow to shovel, No cooking, lots of activies,
nice people, a room full of computers, and we have cheyenne. the best looking server at the Pines.
I toured here several years ago with my grandparents. Four months later they moved into the independent living. My grandfather used therapy services when he really needed it, and he later stayed in Hamilton for palliative care. He was able to pass with both love and dignity thanks to the amazing care.The therapy staff is just as amazing, and helped my grandmother following her knee replacement. Living so faraway it brings me peace of mind knowing The Pines is so amazing.
Pines has a friendly and very helpful staff and a good selection of comfortable and well-maintained apartments with individual heat control. The food is good and the menu has ample variability. We have experienced a very smooth transition when my wife had to be moved from the independent living section to the nursing care. I have been recommending Pines to my friends and would not hesitate to continue to recommend it to friends (and even enemies).
Unit manager Alisia is very unprofessional. She works on Hamilton. Very rude. Don t care about her patients only herself. Shouldn t have a LPN be a unit manager. She a stupid nurse that google my mom medical reason. They need to get rid of her at the Pines.
