The Pearl Room, Brooklyn, NY Review

Started bad when they said they had no clams or mussels available, amongst some other items on the menu. The Pinot grigio tasted like vinegar. The fried Calamari was terrible and the sauce was inedible.
Lobster cocktail, coconut shrimp and the oysters were good, but very cheap on the portion size.
Striped Bass was absolutely inedible. It was so bad I had to spit it out. It wasn t bad fish, it was just way overcooked with a horrible taste. The Chilean Sea Bass on the other hand was delicious. The vegetable risotto was tasty, but not cooked correctly. Was more like veggies and rice. Overall very bad experience. To top it off my bill was $158 and some change. I gave $200 and the change given back was $40. I understand it s a dollar and change, but who does that? That two dollars was deducted from the already poor service tip.
Place is not the same.

My Daughter had her Wedding Ceremony here. NO STRESS, ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL!!! They did it all to make her Night BEAUTIFUL!!! Great food, Great drinks, great Bartender, Great Staff And BEAUTIFUL Owner.. EXCEPTIONAL PLACE!!!

This place has improved significantly since i came here 2 years ago . Good luck

This place has great atmosphere & fantastic staff. A pleasantly classy spot in bayridge.

This place was perfect for a last minute gathering. The staff was great, the hostess Viggie was awesome, nice atmosphere, and menu selections was great. I had a party of 34 so there were mixed reviews about food, however, we had a menu option and I'm sure if we ordered straight from the menu there would have been a different take on food review. But everything else was excellent. I will definitely go back the next time I'm in NYC.

I have been to this restaurant several times and each experience absolutely wonderful..!!..ANTHONY the owner is just fantastic and does a great job with the presentation of the food it taste as great as it looks..!!.. Ziggy one of his management staff is just as great and the sweetest personality...
Can t wait to go back..

Excellent! An amazing find in this area. Great ambience and fantastic food and service. A romantic place with candles and fireplace too.

Food was excellent. Especially rhe pot of mussels in the lobster sauce. The waiter Javier was so pleasant. He treated us like family. Wish there was more people for Disco night.

Can be hit or miss. Some food is excellent, some dried out. They're often playing bad disco and 80's & 90's dance music very loudly. Drinks are good, servers and bartender are nice and pretty attentive. I noticed a pink rim around the toilet water, kinda yucky.

The staff was very rude,,The food took a hour and was cold. The owner introduced himself as Anthony and was very speedy and clueless. .My daughter and friends went there and the owner was very sexual with the young ladies and offered them cocain towards the end of the night. I observed the place and found out that the owner is a womanizer and on narcotics...Not a place I would recommend. .

Had a baby shower here in their private room. That room is perfect for a small private event of about 20 ppl. We were able to decorate the place before the event started and staff was really friendly and accommodating during entire process. They had a brunch party menu and food was delish. Service was very good and staff was accommodating. Owner was very fair and reasonable when it came time for the bill. Overall, a very good experience.

Just left this place and can t wait to share my experience. The best part was the service (and the food). The second my friend and I walked in, we were treated like royalty. Our server was on top of it the entire time. The manager was also there and really took care of us. Food was as good as the service, Thank you for making our night special. We ll definitely go back,

So I must start with the staff they are the most welcoming staff I have ever in countered..the food is by far the best in bayridge Anthony makes your food as if it was in your own home welcoming and satisfying. Beyond words he also greets all of his costumers with a great smile and friendliness to him I must say it make me and my friends and family happy to come each week..

It's a hip, bougie bar/restaurant with a nice modern vibe and all attractive interiors. The service has always been good, nothing to complain about there.

The caesar salad is surprisingly really, really tasty. I like my dressing to be made with real anchovy's, and this one does a good job of not tasting overly fishy but not tasting like Kraft dressing, either.

Went here for a engagement party. The food was great and so was the staff. I highly recommend this place for small parties.

We had a table for Valentine s Day. Just wanted to take a moment to compliment the service we received from Sal.The restaurant was a little busy and very short in staff.I appreciate a server who does a great job, and he handled our table with humor and professionalism with a perfect display of relaxed competence. Well done Sal and the Pearl Room.We ll be back!

Took my wife for our anniversary, I wasn't impressed. Had decided to give it one more try after they moved to New location. The maitre de was very nice, the price wasn't that bad, but food could have been better. Wish I had a better review.

We met with friends at this spot for a meeting. This spot was recommended to us by a friend. Well, we were not disappointed. the staff members were so friendly and we felt good. The food was just great. We enjoyed every moment and we shall absolutely come back again. Highly recommended.

Do you like loud music? I mean, really loud music? If you hate speaking with the people you are with, this is the place for you. Make sure you try the chicken. Especially if you don't really care about eating yummy food.

The scene on a Saturday night for their DJ bar was a disaster. I didn't even get my coat off and the bartender was in my face to order a drink. It was a mistake to stay. Giving them the benefit of the night I had a red wine. The bottle was not refrigerated and my $9 glass tasted sour and warm. There was about 7 patrons and 7 staff. The bartender hounded my friend to get another beer but we were not staying. By 1am the DJ told her he was packing it up. The DJ music was loud with to much annoying electric sounding howling of his name. The person who recommended the place is bad. Should have read the poor reviews here.

Made the mistake of going their for dinner on Christmas 2013. If you like mediocre, luke warm food and terrible service then this is the place for you. If not, then run, and look for a better place in Bay Ridge, There are so many other resteurants to choose from. Our mistake was that we didn't take the reviews seriously. It cost us over $100 but it was a lesson learned. BTW-one of the appetizers listed Maryland Style Crab Cakes. (plural) When the dish came out, there was one lonesome crabcake the size of a half dollar. When asked why only one, when the menu alluded to more, the reply was that's the way it is. Be smart, stay away!

I had great intentions of celebrating a close friend's Birthday at The Pearl Room this past weekend.
Three of us ordered the Shell Steak Dinner. We were informed by the waiter, all the steaks are cooked medium. and he specified NOT Med Rare....Medium. I found this very strange, not wanting to be picky, I said ok The steaks were not seared on either side, they looked very weird...like a beige color with two little grill marks there. One of my friends couldn't even eat hers, she felt it was not fresh...we come to find out they were probably precooked when shipped that's probably why they could only be cooked Medium.

The guest of honor was served short ribs. She ordered Prime Rib!
Service was close to a zero.
Once the water took our food order, he never come back to our table.
We had to keep asking the Bus boys when we can catch them for the essentials such as Steak Knives, salt and pepper. water,
Later on, we were told he was handling a big party in a private room..ahhh i see, so the hell with us.
They did take the one steak dinner off the bill. they didn't even offer to adjust the bill for the inconveniences.
I brought the check to Maryann paid cash munis a tip.
i explained why no tip and she wasn't surprised at all....I then handed her $20.00, this is for the bus boys who took care of us.
My friend's Birthday was ruined. but we took the Birthday Cake we brought there and hav\d desert and coffee at my place .

The food was not what we expected from this place at all.
The service was horrific.

Michael, Michael, Michael. The best Chef and gentleman in Bay Ridge. It's all about class and what can you say Chef Michael has it and shows it in everything cooked here right into the atmosphere ! A wonderful happy place. Go see ... you will love it!

Food was ok ...service terrible.

I had my son s Baptism at the Pearl Room. The food was delicious and only matched by the service and ambiance. The event coordinator Ziggy was a pleasure to work with. She was so sweet and attentive and really worked at making our party a beautiful experience. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking to have a party! I also recommend that you try the sangria!! It s delicious!!

Went here 11-09-16.we ordered drinks and there was a raoch in one of the drinks.good thing we didn't order our food yet. Very nasty.saty away from this place.it might look good but they are nasty.

I went here for mothers day It was very busy which is expected . We were seated after 20 minutes in a beautiful booth. Our food took a while to come out but it was well worth the wait. I dont understand how there are bad reviews about the pearl room because mothers day is the busiest day of the year. To me a busy place is a good place to be. The staff is always very friendly and accommodating. I ordered the beef wellington which melted in my mouth. my husband ordered the bacon chicken which was to die for I actually ended up eating some from his dish lol. We then ordered chocolate truffles for dessert which we always get because there truffles are amazing. The owner came at our table towards the end of our meal to make sure that we were completely satisfied. I give this restaurant 5 stars for being able to serve the most delicious food on the busiest day of the year!!

Came here with my wife on our anniversary. The waiter treated us like royalty. Each dish was carefully and thoroughly explained. The atmosphere was very classy...my wife kept stating how everything looked so nice & fancy. Will be back again!

I celebrated my Best Friends Birthday here with some family and friends party of 8. Had a reservation at 9Pm We came late they were very accommodating. The service was awesome everyone enjoyed there meals, Most of us had Stake, best I ve ever had so fresh and tender. I also got to taste some of the other dishes the chicken parmigiana, on point, crispy and so far from dry it was perfect, The Penne Al vodka with shrimp was flavorful. It was a new experience for my group and we definitely enjoy ourselves. No one bothered my friend who was just up and about dancing alone while we waited for our food, lmao. There was a DJ there mixing some old school joints we all sang along too. Ended the night with dessert & coffee which was just what we needed to boost our energy for the after party.
Shout out to the manager Iggy had some confusion with my bill, she was so patient and explained everything to me in detail. The staff at The Pearl Room is definitely doing its thing keep up the hard work. Highly recommended. The Puerto Rican s will be coming back.

great seafood and solid service - worth taking a date

I had the greatest service in my life. This lady Ziggy gave me and my boyfriend the most outstanding service. She was very polite cordial and not intruding. Her product knowledge is amazing. I give her and the restaurant 5 star. Ziggy is definitely an asset to the Pearl Room. And the Pearl Room has the best French braised chicken. I love it.

We had a wonderful ladies luncheon with family & friends. The staff and environment was inviting and relaxing. The decor was beautiful and the food was AMAZING!!! Everyone enjoyed the food and decor! I would definitely recommend this elegant venue!!

I came with a party of about 12 and absolutely loved it. Great service, all the waiters were extremely helpful and patient, and the food was delicious. Definitely coming back!!

Took my wife here for her birthday. The food was delicious, and the service was excellent. I told her she needs to bring me back here for my birthday next month. We both had the scallops, which were perfectly prepared. Everything was fresh and delicious.
