The meticulously re-crafted Padre hotel is a visual treat which houses many charms of aesthetic appeal in its flashy reflection of the 1920s Spanish revival era of when it was originally constructed. This place offers a relaxing and enjoyable experience that issure to merit return visits.

The upgrade to the Historic Hotel is beyond Amazing! I worked in a Printshop on the first floor for 10 years in the 1970's. I knew Milton Miller personally as a committed business man & generous personally to a fault! He dreamed of the day this Hotel was recognized & now it is here! The food & service is excellent. The Staff is superb !!!

I was in town for work with a friend who grew up in Bakersfield and she recommended we stay here! WE enjoyed the historical feeling of staying at The Padre Hotel. The rooftop restaurant/bar was perfect! There is a great boutique across the street, yoga places just a small walk and Cafe Smitten too . Wifi was excellent! Would definitely stay here again!

I had to travel to Bakersfield on a business trip and I had the pleasure of staying at The Padre. I had initially gotten lost when I was trying to find the parking lot but I called and Christian guided me safely in. He made sure to stay on the phone until I was sure I found it. Upon check in, Chris was very courteous and welcoming. I made it to my room and was surprised to receive a complimentary bottle of Chadonnay since it was my first visit!!

The bed was super comfy and the food options were very nice. There was indoor seating as well as a bar.

I give the location about a three only because I walked a block to dinner and there were some sketchy characters about but other than that the hotel is very conveniently located in the downtown area. This was also my first time in Bakersfield and will not be walking alone again.

Hubby was spent several years of his childhood in Bakersfield and only remembers The Padre as being run down and in need of repair. When he found out it had been restored there was no question where we'd be spending the night.

From the initial phone call to the hotel right down to handing in our room keys, this was by far the best hotel experience I've had (and I've stayed in a LOT of hotels across the country)!

The moment you walk in the door you're immersed in a classy Western-modern fusion with no detail forgotten.

Our only "disappointment" so to speak was that The Belvedere wasn't open (only open Friday and Saturday) for dining, however we ordered from Brimstone through room service which allowed us to order off Belvedere's menu as hubby wanted a Ribeye. In all we ordered far too much for two adults and a young toddler to consume because we simply could not narrow down our choices more. Everything was phenomenal and one of the best steaks hubby has ever eaten. I'm not a ribeye fan and even I enjoyed it! Portions are ridiculously large and well worth the prices. Even their "small plates" filled standard large clamshell containers so bring your appetite!

Rooms are very well appointed with plush linen, and even a bath robe. They even use name brand tissues. The "peek-a-boo" shower was amazing, from the rain shower head, to the embossed, textured, sleek black Fleur-de-lis tile; the view of downtown was a nice touch.

This stay is one I will gladly repeat when we're on this side of the country once more. Give them a shot; you won't be disappointed!

Outstanding is the only word I can come up with to describe my experience and the staff at the Padre hotel. Check-in was smooth and seamless, the staff all had such positive attitudes that I found myself smiling uncontrollably. I was even rushed back my ID when I accidentally dropped it in the hallway. So you see, outstanding fits this establishments overall experience to the t.

I had a great stay at The Padre, booked The Honcho Suite to celebrate my boyfriends birthday. The room as nice, check in was quick and easy and the beds were comfortable! My only issue is that I left my purse on the table and forgot to grab it on my way out, and when I called about it they said I did not leave anything when I absolutely DID. It was a designer bag so I'm sure someone kept it. Overall a great stay and would give 5 stars if it wasn't for my purse!

Stayed on a business trip. The employees were super nice and the food was great. The pillows and mattress were that super soft feather stuff that seems fancy but leads to an awful nights sleep. So 3 nights there was not great but other than that I enjoyed my stay.
