The Pack Horse Pub, Macclesfield Review

Been going in since last Christmas and it s rapidly going downhill. Drink, food,atmosphere, staff quality..all no where near where it was

Would have been 5. Presently, no card service. Cash only. Assured by staff that this will not be a permanent problem. Great staff, and all the sports on large TV screens. Would make a great local.

We had a lovely family meal at the Pack Horse after it had been recommended to us. We certainly weren't disappointed. As a group of 7, we all had different meals. The mixed grill was amazing, the burgers, curry and hunters chicken all delicious. Everything made with good quality ingredients and the staff and service were excellent. I would highly recommend The Pack Horse and will definitely be visiting again very soon. Thank you

Very nice food and beer in a nice warm environment served by friendly and helpful staff.
It seems to be ticking all the right boxes with its varied customer ages.

An email the day before to say that the table was cancelled was a great touch to the end of the year, upon calling them apparently there were some double booked, so glad I took the night off work for it.

Not even the decency to call and say why this was happening however when I called to enquire at least the lady was lovely and polite.

Went in for some food Friday lunchtime and can't fault the place, well priced food and a lovely barmaid who was attentive and polite, I had fish and chips which was spot on, decent size portion and very nice fish, gf had a very generous burger and chips and was waddling on the walk home!! Would definitely recommend this pub and will be going back!!

Food good.. service was slow,. There were 4 of us, only 3 meals came.. mine came as my friends were finishing.
They did not charge for mine. So on the whole,. Was ok.. I will try it again.

Lovely friendly atmosphere definitely child friendly nice beer too

Ok. Good pub to watch sports. Kids are welcome. Landlord is a bit stand offish.

A week ago I had a loverly Steak & Ale pie, Chips, peas & Gravy good value for money
My sister ate Cheese, Bacon BBQ Burger on a Toasted Bun with lettuce, Red Onions, Tomatoe with Chunky Chips & Coleslaw
Yesterday I ate a lovery full English
Sausage's, bacon egg hash brown, black pudding, tomatoe beans & toast

Great pub but food is hit and miss, had really good dishes and then some very questionable ones...

I mean it's ok if you just want a pint. Just like any other pub

This is akin to your typical pub, the beer on offer is good, the layout and presentation is very smart. But the defining factor here is the food. For pub grub, this place is fantastic. Have had many a 'take out' which is a service on offer but you can stay in and eat. Whatever suits your needs. The food is really good, the staff are friendly and are always willing to make your experience the best possible. Highly recommended.

Starting to get alot better plenty on and nice food

Wouldn't bother coming here unless you're a local. Messaged on Facebook beforehand to check that the football would be shown today and specifically booked a table because I was assured the football would be on. We were the first people into the pub at 12pm and politely requested that the football be put on the TV only to be told that a local had already requested to watch the F1. The F1 didn't start until at least 1.10pm and we weren't even offered the opportunity to at least watch the first half of the match. No apology was given, waitress didn't even sound apologetic. Very disappointed and upset.

This pub was recommended when we asked a local where we could enjoy a good pub evening meal. We weren't disappointed and the food was very good value for money

Just had the most fab pub grub delivered to our home. Yumsy Obviously the same price as you'd pay if you ate in the pub but so worth it. Hubby had steak n chips etc, I had fish n chips. Lovely. Delivered in great time too & still hot. 5 all round. Recommend & would use again. Thank u

Great refurb, lovely inside and out. Great range of beers and really friendly staff. Will be back for darts live music and the poker night.

Lovely local to myself with good tasting beer a nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Soon to change I look forward to the ideas they're looking to put into the place!

Had a lovely family meal for my birthday tonight - fantastic homemade burgers, southern fried chicken all freshly prepared and served piping hot with great chips. Great friendly service and welcoming atmosphere for everyone young and old.
