Not good, would not recommend, food overpriced and staff unfriendly

was a great traditional pub, since its been done up though its a bit gastro but the locals keep it local :) food is good but pricey for what you get. staff are friendly. fun place to down a few and the garden is good in the summer

Always accommodating even on a Monday evening when the pub is due to close and we are the only people left! I've never been rushed into leaving so that they can close up for the night...a lovely quiet atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Nice place a little expensive now and not as friendly as it used to be.

Great atmosphere, great service, lovely looking pub with great garden. Fair size food portions for the money, in my last visit the chips let the meal down a bit but the rest was good.

Was here after a 10k early in the new year. This Sunday roast was INCREDIBLE. And look at that cauliflower cheese of dreams .

Good beer and food with a pleasant atmosphere. Pleasantly surprised with how delicious the miso chicken was.

Stunning little pub that is perfect for a summers day or a cosy winter's night. Such a little treasure and looks like they do great food.

Lovely old, cosy pub. The beer garden's nice any time of year. I've been a few times and always eaten very well, the beer's decent too (Butcombe), but some more variety of beers and ciders would be good and more vegetarian/vegan food options is always welcome!

Big carpark across the road. Relaxed atmosphere. Friendly staff. Came here for dinner. They had a good choice at a reasonable price. Would eat there again, if we're up this way.

Excellent little traditional pub , wonderful staff great service and absolutely fantastic food , especially there Sunday roast.
If you like a good chat there are always some interesting locals to talk to .
Fantastic bear garden in the sun with lovely views so great place to bring children.
I will be visiting again and who knows become a local myself.

Wonderful beer garden. The garden occupies an elevated position at the back of pub. Nice sheltered area, outdoor bar and toilets and plenty of tables. Food is fantastic and beats most city centre pubs. A real escape from the city - Bath or Bristol. Good range of beer too.

All meals are in the garden just now, but there is covered and sheltered areas. Service is good, efficient and friendly. I had the fish and chips which were good but a little too much batter for my tastes.

Is willing to take your cash but unwilling to give you change when asked why was told only taking the right money

Visited on a sunny Monday afternoon and sat out in their spacious garden, access with access to outdoor bar, covered seating and toilet.

Enjoyed a wonder afternoon here.. food was amazing, as was the service. highly recommend

The Old Crown is a lovely old pub with a fabulous garden and food to match. Great lunch with a friend. Try the rhubarb gin.... delicious

The pub is very well managed, even under pressure through staff shortages at holiday times. Elizabeth who manages the staff and general running of the Crown is always professional and friendly in her attitude towards staff and customers alike.

Terrible. Just terrible.

The waitress had dirty fingernails and was dressed as though she worked in the 18th Century, giving the place a distinctly dirty and uncomfortable "you're not from around these parts" kinda of vibe.

The steak was the worst i have ever had, with a dominating charcoal flavour over any actual steak flavour. All the other guests i was with also stated the food was pretty bad.

The Swan, which is just down the road clearly has much better food and a much better pie especially. My biggest regret was booking this pub after discovering the swann was fully booked.

Good atmosphere and beer garden is perfect on a hot, sunny day.

Well 4th pub we came across as others either closed or very busy, 1st visit to pub since they have reopened. Love it here anyway and initially a little disappointed in only serving sub rolls on a Monday and Tuesday. However we were starving so both had the New Yorker, not something I would normally choose but blooming heck it was delicious. Gardens and atmosphere are just grand, I really want to recommend this pub, however don't want it to get too popular!! Proper gem of a pub!
