Ogunquit Playhouse is a wonderful gem of Southern Maine.
I recently saw Cabaret there and the production was very well done.
You can not beat this entertainment spot for the price and the quality of shows they provide.
The playhouse itself is 75 years old but has been magnificently restored.
The seating is excellent. This is a nonprofit venue and the volunteers from the local community are warm and friendly.
The snack and bar offerings are quite impressive. They have even added portable restrooms outside which are wonderful with running water and flushing toilets. No portable pottys here!
I look forward to returning next year!

Just saw Jersey Boys on Sunday 9/16. First time to this wonderful theater.

Please express to the cast that they were simply brilliant. The show was as good as a national touring production. I have seen Jersey Boys before And this was tops. KUDOS to all...from Jim Midolo

One of the few remaining "Summer Theater" venues with a storied history. Their wall of alumni is a who's - who of Broadway Stars. Professionally produced shows using Broadway sets and costumes; this place is a diamond in the rough.

Fourth time seeing this play (Ogunquit & NYC). Nat Zegree stole the show each time. and as he should., The roles of Johnny Cash and Carl Perkins, Sam and Dyanne where performed perfectly. The performance of Elvis in 2015 was much more refined and consisted of "Elvis' subtle movements" not exhibited in last night's performance (10/05/2016). My memories of Elvis don't include his having his mouth wide open all the time!! Does he have an understudy?

Looking forward to another performance before the end of the season and to all the outstanding performances of 2017

Historic, wonderful venue. Many fun times and great shows. Always a talented and well rehearsed cast. Sometimes a big Star from Broadway, TV, or the movies. Great community support and feeling.

They have plenty of stalls and plenty of time for intermission. Outstanding productions with lots of big name actors and actresses. Parking however is still a huge problem. If u had to ever leave for an emergency then u cant get out. U r stuck until everyone else around u leaves. Not very impressive as far as safty goes.

My friends and I had a difficult time seeing over the heads of people. We were in row p. When the actors were on the lower level of the stage we couldn't see what they were doing, we could only listen. When it came to the grand finale everybody stood up so we didn't even have a slight view of what was happening on the stage. I need to say the play was worth 5 stars!!!

Had the opportunity to watch Jersey Boys there. From the minute you arrive you are greeted by a 1st class staff who has you park your car in a carefully crafted way to make your departure easy. Once inside there is no shortage of assistance if needed. A great little bar and side cafe to purchase a snack or gin and tonic which is one of the best I have had. The venue inside is perfect. The seating is just the right angle to give anyone in any seat a clear view of the stage.

we seen the play ragtime in august ,it was a very racist show, there were no notifications on the site whatsoever of the horrible language being used,at halftime ,about 1/3 of the audience left the show,i emailed 3 different people at the playhouse about my concern an request for a refund ,nobody answered my emails,i geuss they only care about selling the shows out and not about what the consumer thinks,it was a very poor choice for them to put the show on,as many of their patrons are elderly that dont want to see or hear such trash in a show,i doubt wel ever return, sincerely from connecticut

The playhouse itself is a good size (not really large but not small either). It has a fun atmosphere to it and friendly employees. We went to see Mamma Mia! and we were just blown away by the performance. I haven't seen other productions here but I have no doubt they are consistently amazing.

Very nice setting. Nice playhouse. We saw a very good production come through here of Les Miserables. I recommend this place to you. I was skeptical thinking this was an out of the way, podunk operation. I was pleasantly surprised.

Beautiful theater and wonderful performance. You can expect Broadway quality. Very friendly staff as well. However, the sightlines are not fantastic. If you are sitting towards the rear, pray there isn't a tall person seated in front of you.

Loved the small theatre size, with every seat being a great seat. Excellent production of Heartbreak Hotel. Theatre staff was so nice in helping to buy tickets and when we arrived. Great evening in a top notch atmosphere.

My wife and I visit the Playhouse whenever we visit Maine. It is always a very satisfying experience. The parking and exiting is very well organized. The staff, friendly and helpful. Most of the time you can meet the entertainers. As with any theater, plan to leave an arm and a leg for snacks and beverages.

My first experience with the Playhouse was for Murder on the Orient Express, and I can definitely say I'll be going back for another production; the sets were amazingly detailed and it looked like you were eavesdropping on a real train. The sound system was great, with each actor mic'd up and easily understood. The ushers were very quick to get people to the correct seats, and everyone I met who worked at the Playhouse was very friendly and helpful. Pricing for two tickets in regular seats was ok, about as much as you'd spend for a good meal and a bottle of wine at a really good restaurant in Maine. A great date night with the wife :)

Fun performance. Nice theater but the seats were small and uncomfortable. Could not see because of the people in front of us. They should stagger the seats and create more angle. Nice staff. Bathrooms were great.

We have been to two shows so far this year Smokey Joe's cafe was phenomenal and Oklahoma hit it out of the park. The talent that they signed has always been first class. The venue is cozy and there isn't a bad seat in the house. I highly recommend.
