We have used the Nolan Company for our cross testing and plan administration for 3 years. They have made this whole process easier for us. We were originally going to go with Fidelity or Vanguard for all of our 401k but just used Fidelity as a brokerage firm and let Nolan do the rest. They have saved us a considerable amount of money. I would highly recommend them to reduce your costs and help make the trustee process a lot easier. Glad to have them as part of our A-team.

I've been a client of The Nolan Company since 1996 - and the same account manager has been super helpful with all my questions the whole time. I've had three businesses during that time that Misty there helped me transition through all the different retirement accounts. I couldn't be happier with their service. My CPA firm, which is very protective of their clients, refers to them exclusively for their hundreds of clients.

My son has had a 401K account with this company for over 2 years. They
have not provided him a statement of the balance of his account for all that
time. Investment advisers must provide a statement at least quarterly. They
have not even provided him his account number.

I have changed accountants, and I've also changed ...

I have changed accountants, and I've also changed third party administrators, so I will no longer be using them for 2016. These people do not answer the phone. They do not care about their clients. I'm very happy to be using a new company, but the Nolan Company still hasn't given my new TPA or accountant what they need to from last year. My accountant has to file late, and the deadline is approaching. I'm looking at penalties from the IRS soon if they don't respond. They will say I didn't give them information in a timely matter, but they will fail to mention that they required this information through their website, which did not work when I tried to use it. They should be able to take data and info any way they can get it. And anyway, I've been giving them what they've been asking for since the spring time. I never hear from them. I have to initiate all communication.

I'm ignorant of much of what they do, and so are many of their clients, I'm sure. This leaves us extremely vulnerable. At best, they are inattentive. At worst, negligent. Beware. Only use them if your CFP, CPA, or trust forces you to. Even then, try to use another TPA.

Exceptional service, friendly staff, superior knowledge of pension and 401(k) and proit sharing plans, keeps plan on filing deadlines, forewarns of coming changes in law or regulations that will cause a client to make alterations in the document or how it is administered. Would not take a plan elsewhere before having Jim Nolan and staff advise on whether a proposal is worthy or not. Competitors speak admiringly of Nolan's company, hundreds of clients, 20+ on administative staff. Never have encountered unusual delays in responses back. Instead, responses are always prioritizing calls and emails for assistance.
