Worked with commercial banking for years, it is definitely good ol' boy approval. They have their favorites, Scott Mauch is worthless. Never returned calls or emails. Branch service is excellent.

I had a garnishment attached to my account from Johnson County civil courts. They held $2,054.06 from my account at this bank which is called a wage garnishment. This was fine and I was alright with this because it was a judgment against me in civil court. They had a hold on this money for over a month. I contacted the attorney that was involved in this case and told them I would like for them to release this money to pay the judgment. The attorney released the money and the bank took the money out of my account again which made me $1,300.00 overdrawn from my account. I immediately went to the bank and ask to talk to the bank manager which was Jocelyn. She looked at my account and told me she did not know what happened. I explained to her that it looked like they took the money out of my account again. She then told me that I needed to wait a day or two and see if the problem fixed itself. I told her that s unacceptable that I have bills coming out of my account and I can t have my account in the negative. I have been working on my credit for two years now so of course I was upset that a bill could be declined through this bank and I would have a payment that wasn t on time. I told her that I would like to file a dispute with this charge because they basically took my money and made my account useless. She said she could not. Anyways I got mad and told her this was BS and left. About fifteen minutes later they called me and told me that they fixed the problem and my money was back in my account I told her that I was sorry I was so upset and thank you for fixing the problem. The next day I received a call from Micheal Combs the manager downtown. He told me that me and my wife have thirty days to find another bank. I told him that would be fine and I hope my next bank treats me better then they have. I definitely would not recommend this bank. The ATM is old and outdated and does not work for deposits most of the time. The online app doesn t work most of the time. The ladies that work at the front and at the window are very nice and very helpful. More helpful then the management for sure. If you are thinking of going to this bank I would at least drive through and see the antique ATM machine they have.

The most difficult bank I've ever encountered. Have attempted to change treasurer for a non-profit. After 4 months providing documentation, signature card, meeting minutes, a certification from the organization President, and multiple visits to their offices, NBoI can't seem to determine who needs to make approval and get this done. Just today they took down online access to the account. You get messages from them with no name, just a department identification. Terrible and incredibly frustrating. (see post script below)
Post script: It is the day after making my post above. I was contacted by numerous people at the bank and by the end of the day, the proper paperwork and approvals were completed and full online access to the account was enabled. The bank stepped up with all issues being promptly and fully addressed. Just as performance issues need to be called out, exceptional performance also deserves to be rewarded as well. Congratulations to NBOI on a job well done!
