Our son attended MCH for 8 years and it will always hold a treasured place in our hearts. If they had a middle school, we would ve happily stayed!
As a former teacher, I knew MCH was a special environment. There is no rote learning, teaching to the test , or excessive homework. Instead the children learn deeply through meaningful work, discovery and discussion, working with their peers, conferring with their teachers, and the freedom to explore their interests. As a result, they develop a genuine love of learning and academics that serves them well when they advance to middle school and beyond.
In addition to academics, kindness matters here. Children are encouraged to be their unique selves and to be respectful of others. The concepts of grace and courtesy are weaved throughout daily life here. The older children help and serve as mentors to the younger students. It was always a pleasure to visit or volunteer because the children were so engaged and enjoyable.
Lastly, there is a strong sense of community here. Visiting days, performances, field trips, school socials, alumni visits, and parent/family events were always heartwarming and inclusive.
MCH was a magical place for our family and we will always have fond memories of our time there. If you are considering MCH, you will not be disappointed.
