Cocktails are fabulous. View from outdoor patio is engaging. Need some attention to interior refurbishing. What a history. Staff is pleasurable. Unique!

Excellent location with great service combined with Extraordinary history is a unique experience.

High class club with skilled staff.
NY LED Furniture put an LED dance floor on the 3rd floor, and combined with the DJ from Frost Productions, they made for a great 25th anniversary party.
The building is very clean, even the service areas. The guard at the service entrance was friendly and helpful, as was most of the staff.

I have never been but I would like to stay at the Metropolitan Club in New York sometime and spend a few days there.

Just had a very unfortunate experience with this club where I was trying to track down a friend who was staying at the club and due to the no mobiles rule I called, was put through to the bar but was told that "there are a lot of people outside but I don't have time to go out there" followed by him putting down the phone by someone described as the "head bartender".

These clubs are modelled after English clubs but a servant in an English club would lose his job for being so rude and unhelpful.

So so Fancy. Historical place in the Heart of modern city.

Historic building , food top notch , service outstanding .

Very nice club with a lot of beautiful rooms. This is an old-school place in the nicest way, with traditional, attentive service and classically done libraries and other areas. The only negative is that if you don't know the layout it can be hard to negotiate.

Just got back from a beautiful wedding at this venue. Saturday night wedding and reception. Our hosts had arranged for hotel accommodations down the street at the Marriott so it was incredibly convenient for us out of towners. The location was nice. It may have been a converted office building but we would never have guessed. So nice inside. The staff never missed a beat to ensure everyone was moved through the different areas of our event. There was a very nice cocktailing area after the ceremony with a full bar. All the servers and bar tenders were smiling and pleasant and just added to the atmosphere. Very attentive during the meal. The food was excellent.
It was modern and decorated elegantly (I know that is more the wedding planner) but this venue can be done in so many ways. Parking was easy and accessible. Many attendees were offered shuttle service between the venue and the Marriott down the street.
I think this is a great venue for a wedding. Lots of folks from out of town at this wedding, but many locals as well.

Went for a corporate event. The place is absolutely stunning. So much character and great service.

Been to 2 of their parties and they were both whack and dead.

I was attending an investor conference at this club. The food and beverage service is well ordered. The place is very helpful, clean and welcoming.

Metropolitan Club is an amazing private club designed by Stanford White. Historic building, stunning architecture, exquisite food and superb service. Bedrooms are very comfortable, charming and nicely decorated. We spent a week there and loved our stay.

It's an old mansion use for private parties, not comfortable to move around.

Warning: Watch your valuables! Use the in-room safes. Most of our suites and rooms were rifled through while we attended wedding-related events in May 2013. A police report was filed for the cash that was stolen. However, we did not file about the small items that were stolen from the various suites and wedding venues (some fake furs that were used as props, a silk tie, cash from ladies' purses, a toiletries bag from a packed suitcase in their manned luggage room).

Yes, the Met Club's public spaces are beautiful, and I would recommend it for a wedding ceremony (with the caveat that you should watch your valuables at all times). However, I do not recommend staying there. My family has traveled extensively in the US and around the world and has never encountered employees that are this unprofessional and indifferent; some were overtly rude. Because we are very polite, American-born, working professionals, the only explanations I could think of is that we are not Club members or that we are not white. FYI, the fitness room is for men only; women are not allowed.

You probably won't go here unless you're rich or get invited to a very rich event

Super amazing experience. The staff is great and so caring . and the place itself is absolutely breathtaking. Especially during the holidays. There is a big decorated tree in the front and when you walk in its just amazing. The lobby is all decorated and the greeters are so nice. There are decorations from the floor to the high rise cielings . the food is amazing . you will not be disappointed if you come here it is truly an experience you'll never forget.

Nice venue for a business meeting, gathering, or dinner. Highly recommend.

A classic New York institution. Members-only private club from the guilded era. Beautiful event spaces.

Brunch at the rooftop restaurant is the best you can get. Service is extraordinary. Waiters will remember you from another trip and remember your selections. All that without the over talking. In the main building rooms are nice, not so much in the other building. Windows don t open, but it has so many stars everywhere, that even if I slept on the floor it would still be a 5 star rating.

i got locked in the bathroom but eventually made it out. fascinating building.

Fundraising event for the New England Society. The food was fantastic and it is a beautiful building with a rich history.
