Months ago, I attended TMLA. I look middle eastern and have deep brown skin. 4-5 girls from outer NYC (Nassau and Rockaway mostly) always degraded me during lunch, whispering loud enough so that I would hear it on the way out of the cafeteria. I didn't care, until it got to the point where two of them literally sneered and mocked me in the hallway, while the other girls watched. One shoved me out of the way at the end of class-- and that broke the camel's back. There is no system or people in place to combat these racially charged issues. If you do not fight against racism, you are part of the problem.

This school saved me from a lifetime of poverty and living in the hood. If it wasn't for my scholarship, I would've ended up at a NYC public school. Everything I learned that has helped me in my career and in life was from this school. I am a minority and I never paid the fees (for fund raisers and club dues) on time, on account of growing up in extreme poverty, and I never had issues as others are describing in their reviews. I kept to myself when I went here so I didn't have issues with anyone and was at the top of my class. The negative review on here are probably from people who never went here or from people who were expelled with good reason.

Teachers are really biased to students, especially if someone is blood related to them. Disgusting. I will be making a petition to the DOE about one old teacher. If you are giving your daughter everything through TMLA you should LOSE YOUR TEACHING LICENSE.

Finally! They decided to add a pre-med program and added little engineering interest! As a mom, please, ATLEAST prevent teachers from gossiping so loudly about students. I could hear the snide comments right outside of the faculty room! Poor girls, the student body seems kind. It's the teachers that really need to change...

Not inclusive enough toward BIPOC. It s been over a decade since I first stepped foot into the building and I was disgusted to hear stories of disrespect, belittlement, micro/macro aggressions and the like from current students. Stories I, and other many graduates, could relate to. At this current moment, any parent of a BIPOC should think and research before enrolling their child. Your child s mental well-being matters.

My sister and I attended TMLA and loved it! Such a wonderful school and beautiful campus. My experience there was unforgettable and I can't imagine now ever not attending. I had caring and excellent teachers and faculty. I made long lasting friendships and I have TMLA to thank for that. TMLA shaped me into the person I am today. With my daughter now in the 7th grade, we are looking forward to exploring TMLA again!

I attended TMLA from 1969 - 1973. I was awarded the medal for Home Economics at our graduation ceremony. Oddly enough, after I graduated from Hunter College with a BA in Communications, I fell into a career in the budding Information Technology Industry which I took early retirement from in 2018. My educational foundation at Mary Louis prepared me to be ready for anything, to be able to change with the times, to succeed at anything I put my mind to. When I read that Home Economics is no longer a part of the NYS Board of Regents, it made me kind of sad, but what has made me happy is that TMLA has kept up with the times, moving forward to continue to provide young women with a stellar education and with the moral fortitude to succeed at anything they decide to do. I thank God for my parents who sacrificed so much to send me to such a wonderful school. I have such wonderful memories from it and am still friends with many classmates 40+ years later.

I find that the school has a diversity issue with the staff, there seems to be big disparity mostly if not all teachers and office staff are anglo-saxon, a religious school should represent the world all colors of people,to represent that shows us your really prejudice what kind of message are you telling the students who diverse of all different cultures. The fact that all pictures in the school of Jesus, Mary and the Saints all look the same color.Last I read the Bible Jesus was discribed as Bronze, but all I see are caucasian images in churches and schools. What a demeaning way psychology to keep other people spirits down. I guess heaven is only for anglo-saxonsor or caucasians people. The school and like most Catholic schools have demonized other races by not including them in pictures or history. There is a serious hate and preference in this school and most Catholic schools who have no diversity in staff especially or students
