Dont know which is better....food or staff!! This is an amazing place. We had a superb Sunday lunch the service of which was first class in every way! The wine list, well..... one of the very best that I have seen anywhere!! It has a superb balance of proper fine wines and also excellent examples of keenly priced examples. Overall however, the wines are great value for money! If you are lucky enough to get a couple of bottles of Cakebread Chardonnay Reserve.....then you have scored the winner - unimaginably great Californian chardonnay that goes with everthing - yes; including beef!!

The service provided by staff here is always above and beyond, thoroughly enjoy every trip to the Marcliffe. The food here is also fantastic and enjoying pre and post meal drinks in the drawing room lounge is an absolutely excellent way to start and finish your meal.

Stayed overnight in a comfy room with a great bed,great shower,really good food & attentive staff.
Stayed for three nights to celebrate my dad's 60th birthday and it was absolutely brilliant. The hotel staff are so kind and went out of their way to make it a special occasion for us. Service and facilities are kept to a high standard, rooms are airy, comfortable and clean. The food in both the bar and restaurant was excellent. Would highly recommend.
Attended a wedding and stayed two nights. Good service and food. Only downside was the resurfacing of the driveway while we were there.
